Her current foster mother had done a head count and marched everyone home. It would be hours before she noticed that Bahzena was gone, and only when one of the other kids mentioned it once it was lights out. The woman couldn't care less about these kids, beyond making sure they were bringing in pay cheques.
Bahzena was sitting, alone in the park. The sun was almost finished setting and she was picking dandelions, lining them up in neat rows, admiring their yellow heads and green leaves. She was hungry, but she didn't say anything. She looked around, realizing she was alone. She didn't cry though.
She sat down and crossed her legs, looking at her flowers, pulling the hat off of her head. She knew she wasn't going to be in trouble for taking it off. She wasn't sure why people kept yelling at her, saying things she didn't understand very loudly with the din of everything else around her.
She liked it here, in the park. It was quiet. No one yelling at her. No dogs scaring her. Bahzena's mouth opened in a yawn and she curled up right there, not seeming to notice the cold of the night settling in around her.

Val would have been just finished with his hunting when he came by the park, some of the madness in his eyes subsided. The malkavian had wondered off alone that night and when he noticed a young form in the grass he looked around "Demons must decide to usse bait!" He snuck up towards the child and looked around "Come must get out of the demon area! They are bad and want us gone!" He said this gently but the urgency still in his voice.
Bahzena shook her head and turned over onto her back. She blinked up at the stranger, but said nothing. Her little lips puckered into a look of concern and she stood up on sleepy, wobbly legs, moving to fix the flowers she had crushed. She looked at the head of each of them, seeming as though she didn't hear the stranger.
Val tilted his head "We lead you to safety from the demons! They live everywhere but we know safe spots!" He looked to her and pointed off in another direction. The vampire resumed looking around "Must go to safety." He'd say and nod.
Bahzena would look at his pointing finger and walk off in that direction. She didn't look him in the eye or cry like another lost child might have. Instead she just walked, holding a number of flowers in her little fist, protecting them. She watched Val's hands for further direction, but followed his directions.
He tilted his head and went into a building, corn kernels visible on the floor "We are safe!" He pointed to a rather old couch and chair "We got safe seat!" He'd say and nod. The vampire looked around shaking a bit as he tried to find something.
Bahzena climbed up on the couch, sitting very still. She didn't look around or point. She didn't ask questions. She only sat, very still. Almost like a statue. Except of course, there was the yawning. It came suddenly, swiftly and only once.
It wasn't quiet, it wasn't loud. It just was. Her whole mouth opened to allow it to happen.

Val tilted his head and got a sheet. He quickly put it over the little girl "We wonder where home is for the little one." The vampire never quite liked seeing little ones where they could be hurt and it stressed him quite a bit.
Bahzena began to scream. It was surprisingly high pitched, and her little hands began to hit her head. She kept panicking, not actually trying to bring the sheet off of her head - but it was clearly the cause.
Val blinks and pulls it off her head "No no sheet good." He'd say a bit unsure "We not hurt we keep warm!" The sheet was put beside her not sure why she reacted that way to it. Though the vampire waas more cautious as he still feared demons.
