"lady if you forgot already this here is not an illness is a genetic mutation, it can't be cured. If anything you found what the other scientistts found when they looked, a way to slow down the mutation leaving the victim a few more minutes of excrutiating pain and saying their farewells" he let his arm drop back to his side
"No Layla," he put an arm on her shoulder, "There isn't always a way. We can live here, we can survive here, but you're wrong. There isn't a way this time."
In anger she backed up and sat by the wall. She only sat there and said nothing else the whole time. She didn't like 'no' for an answer, and she didn't like excepting it either. All she did was let her blonde hair drape over her face.
Andrew sat next to her, "Layla, you can't always be right," he sighed, stroking the back of her head.
She had her hands over her head, and her face burried in her knees."I just.....want to sit here alone." The life size model she had made slowly turned red as the information vanished and soon so did the model.
Dean turned towards Layla walking towards he and kneeling besides her "lady, sometimes you just have to accept the truth, even it it's not what you wanted to hear but what you just did was give up hope, even when there's no hope to keep, hope anyway. That's what seperates us from them. With hope we'll find a way to stop the mutants"
Jona and Hazel looked at each other in surprise, they hadn't seen this side of their captain
Jona and Hazel looked at each other in surprise, they hadn't seen this side of their captain
He silently denied her request and stayed next to her, putting an arm over her shoulder.
"It's useless...everything is useless.....having hope will help not one bit. You just snapped me back into reality....you just woke me from my dreams...you only told the truth.Honestly there is nothing that can be done." She did not raise her head but only lowered it more. She was trained in so many things. She just knew it was never going to do any good so she just gave up.
"Layla..." he stretched his legs out and pulled her into his lap, gently kissing her cheek.
She merely blushed and had no emotion but sadness. Her father was surely dead. Her mother wanted her to help the world, but she gave up. She was the last wielder or the spiritual tools and weapons, but there is no hope of using them. She was trained in military skills to stop someone at a young age,but she never did get the reward like she was going to do.It was all worthless.
"Come on Layla," Andrew rubbed his wet nose against her cheek, "Don't be so hard on yourself. There's nothing any of us can do, so don't act like its your fault."
Dean stood up, his expression showing his dissaoppointment. "if you're going to give up hope why did I help you, if you won't look for a way to stop these abominations from extinctifying the human race then I will, or I will die trying. Even if an antidote won't work you could create a weapon that could actually work against the bast*rds"
She lifted her head and pats Andrews head then stands up.She then grabbed Deans arm and sliced above his elbow with her spiritual knife and healed him as soon as she got a drop of blood. She sat back on the floor and started to draw a design."hmmm"
He just watched and sat cross legged next to her, rubbing his feet paws.
She looked around for scraps as her nails got sharp and her energy spiked like crazy. She then had that 'sure of myself' look as she had a smirking attitude like always. "HAHA! IDEA!"
"Okay what the hell was that for!? Was it for what I said because that was not fair, at least next time give me a warning" Although she cut him Dean felt better knowing that she has hope
"Nope I just needed more of your blood, sir!" She started to have a slight skip in her step as she pulled a hair from everyone's head.
"is it too soon to ask what it is you're doin there lady?" Dean looked at her skipping around
"The name is Layla...SO STOP CALLING ME LADY! I'm not old." She dropped them in the ground and Stretched."And it is too soon!"
"sorry, force of habit lad- I mean Layla, you could do your science thingy there on the floor or we could go to HQ where other survivors are and a group of scientists could help you there. HQ's just a few tunnels down" he said pointing down the tunnel.
