Autumn sat on top of an old, brick building, watching as the cars sped by on the street below. She counted the people walking into the movie theater and looked for any that posed a threat. Autumn had been assigned the job of being a guardian over a vampire hunter, even though she was a vampire herself. Her assignment was supposed to be here tonight with a date no less.
"Ug human love relationships..gross," she muttered to herself.
Autumn didnt like the idea of relationships. They would get complicated and end up leaving you in a bind. Then she saw her assignment walk in with his girlfriend and she positioned herself to wait for a while. Soon after they went in however, the movie theater burst into flames and Autumn flashed inside. Now this was what she considered action, except all she was doing was finding him and getting him out. A flaming beam fell down next to her, centimeters from hitting her. People were screaming and running for the exits, but Autumn closed off her hearing so she could concentrate on her job.

John had just gotten out of the moive theater, helping some other people get out through one of the exits in the theater. He had gotten a lung full of smoke but was holding up better than as the others.

He coughed a few times before going back in to help some more people get out. He had no regard for his own life whatsoever. He had just missed having some of the roof fall on him, only by a long shot.

The building finally fell just as he got out another person. He had gotten more than enough smoke in his lungs but still kept going. He only had a cross around his neck that would protect him if this was the doing of a vampire because he just wanted to relax on his day off but some kind of force did not want that for him.

Autumn had found her assignment helping people out of the theatre and she grabbed his girlfriend who had fallen behind. Then when the theatre finally caved, she set his girlfriend down behind him, none too gently either and before he could look she fllashed to the opposite side of the street. She stood there watching as if sh was just a by-stander. Autumn wasnt supposed to get to know him or even let him know who she was. She was supposed to be part of the shadows and yet for some odd reason, she had saved his girlfriend.
"Gross. I shoulda let her die in the fire," she muttered. Then taking out her own black cross from around her neck, she rubbed it between her thumb and pointer finger. It had become a habit for after she always did something drastic like that.

On emain difference between Autumn and all the other vampires is that she worked on God's side and not the devils. Though she did have some bitter feelings toward humans. Then she flashed over to her assignment and sighed.
"Well this is a mess. How can i help?" she asked acting as if she just walked over there.

What most people would think was John's girlfriend was one of his coworkers. She had made him come since her boyfriend bailed on her and he was the only trust worthy guy she knew. John sighed relizing that the only preson he forgot was her. She being to chew him out about forgetting her. He rolled his dark purple eyes and said "I can't remember everything, now can I?"

John looked at the billed that was left of the theater and sighed. Just my luck. He though to himself, knowing that this was not his day.

He was a little surprised when a girl had seemed to appear infornt of him out of nowhere. He looked back at the other people, some burned and others in coughing fits from too much smoke in their lungs. He ran is hand through his sandy blonde bangs before answering her with a "It is probably best to call an ambulance to get everyone out of here and taken care of."

Autumn held out her hand to her assignments girlfriend. "Cellphone," she said. When the girl handed it over, she dialed the emeergency number and told them of the situation. When they arrived, Autumn tossed his girlfriend back her phone then started helping people to the ambulances and gathering the smoke from their lungs. She sat up one man and put her hand to his lips then pulled her hand away slowly, a trail of smoke coming from his mouth until there was no more smoke left in his lungs. Then she let the smoke drift into the air and helped the man to his feet.

Autumn led him to an ambulance then helped him in. Finally she grabbed her assignments arm with a death grip and led him behind the building opposite of the theatre, where she had taken that man to extract the smoke from his lungs.
"Stay still or this wont work," she told him.
Then she softly put her hand to his lips and slowly pulled it away, the smoke trail following her hand then gathering in the palm when it was all out of his lungs.
"There. Good as new," she said and dispersed the smoke, lettting him go.

John had helped the other people get into the ambulance and told the works about the movie theater. He had not a clue what could've caused the fire, well that is what he told them. He had an idea it was a vampire, more so the vampire who he had for his next job.

The ambulance left with the badly burned people and the ones that could heal without need to go to hosptail was left to go home and rest up.

John sighed in relief when everyone was taken care of and his coworker was gone. He was caught off graud when he felt the woman from earlier grap his arm in a death grip and daggered him to an alley away from the remaining people. He didn't say a word when she put her hand on his lips and pulled the smoke out of his lungs. There was more than there was for the other people. Once she had finished getting the smoke out of his lungs he said "Uh, thanks."

Autumn nodded then pushed him from the alley, flashing away from there. She wasnt supposed to do what she just did but he was her assignment and that was something she wanted to do in order to make her life easier. If she hadnt he wouldve had to go to the hospital and she would have to be around thats sick, clean, mediciny smell. She hated hospitals, too many people and too much blood the smell was quite sickening as well though.
Then sitting on the edge of a building, above her assignment she watched his girlfriend for a inute then looked back to him. This would be her second day on the job and she knew that she got this job because she was the only one who could keep him from death. He would be needing her for a while, many magical creatures had it out for him. Big time.

John sighed and headed for home before he heard his coworker call out "John! Remember to not be late for work!" He only replied with a "Yeah." and kept walking home. He knew that demons and such were after him for more than one reason. He was a hunter. He usually went after vampires but every now and again he would get a job to kill a rogue werewolf or demon.

Once he got to his small apartment and flopped down on the couch. He was tried out from a long day. He just hoped that his boss would give him a small job so he could relax for a moment.

Autumn followed him home and beat him there by a minute or so. She sat on his kitchen counter and swung her feet back and forth slowly. Yes she was in his house. Trespassing? Nope. Not if you were a guardian. It was time to freak this kid out and it was gonna be funny in a way. She lightly tapped her feet against the counter to let him know she was there.

John jumped slightly when he heard something. He didn't think anyone else would be able to get in his apartment. He had never given a key to anyone and kept it locked everytime he left. "Who's there?" He looked over at the kichten to see who was in his house. He had pulled out the gun he kept in his jacket and ready to shoot if needed.

Autumn rolled her eyes and looked over to him. "Put it away kid before you hurt someone," she said. Then flashing in front of him, she put her hand on the gun and pointed it to the floor. Then she flicked his forehead and walked around him, sitting on his couch. Propping her feet up on his coffee table, she turned on his tv.
"You dont know who i am yet do you?" she asked.
Flipping through the channels, she stopped on a random channel and looked over at him.

John was surprised to see the girl from the theater at his home. He hadn't sensed that she was a vampire yet because he wasn't looking for one. "How did you get in here?" He didn't see any of the windows opened or any sign of forced entrance. He couldn't believe that she knew where he lived and got in.

He didn't know what she meant about him noting figuring out what she was. "No, I don't even know your name."

Autumn grinned, her fangs glinting in the light from the kitchen. "Thats a secret as to how i got in..well lets just say im good with locks. But i will tell you that my name is Autumn and you are my assignment," she said.
Picking up the cross around her neck, she rubbed it again then let it drop back. Tossing the tv remote to him, she motioned for him to take a seat.
"You can pick a channel. I dont hardly watch tv anymore," she said with a sigh then put her head back on the top of the couch cushion.

John left it on a random channel, not really caring. "What are you doing her for?" He knew that she wouldn't go through the trouble of breaking and entering his apartment without a reason. Sure enough not to steal something of his or she wouldn't seating next to him right now.

Autumn opened her right eye and looked over at him. "You are my assignment. I cant tell you anything more than that but you can guess if you want," she said with a small teasing smile.
Then she closed her eye and relaxed on his couch. It was quite comfy and she hadnt slept on anything this comfy for quite some time. Her last assignment didnt turn out too well so she had been punished and sent to the the real world to live. This kid was her next assignment in order to get back into heaven where she originally had been.

John sighed. "Then why are you in my apartment?" He had to ask, not sounding very please. His apartment was smaller than normal ones. One bedroom, one bathroom, a living room, and a kichten. That was it. Nothing very sepical but clean. It didn't stink of bleach but not of molding food.

Autumn smiled and sat up a little, taking her head from the back of the couch and her feet from his table. "Well i thought that my assignment wouldnt mind me sleeping at his place," she replied with a grin.
Then she layed back on his couch and put her hands behind her head.
"Nice little place you got," she commented.

"Thanks and stop calling me your assignment. I guess they either told you my name and you don't care to call me by it or you don't know my name, which is it?" John never liked when people didn't called him by his name, it was the reason why he didn't have any nicknames. He sighed, noticing the time. Once she told him why she isn't calling him by his name he would leave to go to bed because he had to get up early.

Autumn looked at the cieling. "I dont know your name. You do not make a very joyful host by the way," she commented and tossed one of his couch pillows at him.

John grabbed the pillow and rolled his eyes. "Sorry if I was caught off graud to find someone I didn't know in my home. For now on just call me John or Yoi." He stood up, tossing the pillow back on the couch. "I'm going to bed, don't destory anything." He walked to his room and closed the door behind him. He got ready for bed by taking off his shirt and changing into some sweat pants that were cut off at the knees.
