Avery settled himself on the first bench he came into contact with in the park. As usual for him he wore a light black jacket over a simple t-shirt of blue. His legs were fully covered in a pair of black jeans that sat baggy on his form. Avery's clothes always seemed to be overly baggy. Here at the park the visions of butterflies were at least normal. There weren't any there but that didn't stop the sight of them flying around him. First came the hallucinations then came the pain. Reaching into the pocket of his jacket he'd pull a small orange bottle out, pop the lid, and pour two white pills into his hand. No water within easy reach didn't stop him from tossing the pills into his mouth and swallowing them dry. With the butterflies flying around him he could almost remember a time when they brought him happiness. Shoving the pills back into the side pocket of his jacket he'd lean back...waiting.

Luna walked along the beach, no shoes on. She had her shoes in one hand and her feet in the salty water. She splash some water, not really caring about anything. She always seemed to have birds chripping when she was around, as if something about her made them want to chrip. She had slivery white hair and deep red eyes. She kept walking until she saw a nearby park. She got out of the water, and sat down on a beanch, unrolling her dark jeans and make sure they weren't wet. She wasn't too far from a guy in black pants and jacket. She wore a black and grzy striped tee shirt with dark demini jeans.
Avery glanced over at the sound of movement nearby. His hazel eyes attempted to focus on the figure but his vision still danced with the sight of butterflies. As usual it was a thing only he could see so he forced his eyes closed and waited for a moment. When he reopened them the vision finally receeded and he was able to see who it was. Smiling some he'd raise a hand in her direction "Good time for a walk hm?" His voice would sound semi low and slightly scratchy. If the girl looked close enough she might notice the almost hallow look to Avery's face. Dark circles around his eyes and prominent cheek bones.
Luna had noticed the hollow look in the male's face but though that there was a locally reason behind it. She smiled at him nonetheless, her good nature and kind heart never seemed to fail her. "Yeah, it is. I just a left a beach not far from here, I can show you it if you want." She finished putting back on her socks and shoes, they were simple black sneakers, nothing special. Even though most people would think that a girl with red eyes was nothing but cold, they would think wrong about Luna. She had a gentlness in her eyes and kind spirit that only a few rare gave a chance to see.
Avery shook his head a little "I wish I could but moving is not happening for a while" He'd offer a hand in the girls direction allowing her to choose to move and shake it or simply ignore it. "I am Avery. I have not seen you around here before have I?" As he spoke his vision started to cloud again which might give him the look of staring into the distance instead of looking directly at the girl. For now he made no notice of her strange eye color or seemed to care he was talking to a complete stranger
Luna stood up and walked over to Avery, she shook his hand and sat down beside him. "No, I just came here to visit some family and though I would take a walk and see what there is while I'm here. I'm Luna." She didn't mind the fact that he looked like he was staring off into space, she would know if he was listening if he replied to what she said.
Avery smiled an almost sad smile "Family. Such an amazing thing" After a slight shake he'd let go of the girls hand and let his own fall to his lap "Nice to meet you Luna. I hope you're enjoying your stay here thus far. If you go far enough on that beach you could see an old lighthouse. It's no longer in use. Hasn't been since the family that owned it left. You should go see it sometime" As he spoke Avery reached once more into his pocket to pull out the same bottle as before. He'd pop the top and drop another pill in his hand. The pill would be swallowed and the bottle disappears back into his pocket. The look of pain seems to slowly be appear on his face "Tell me Luna.. About the beach. What you saw"
Luna notice the pain in Avery's eyes. "What type of pills are those?" She ignored his question more concern as to what type of pills he was taking and what effect they had on him. She knew about many different types of medications and what effects they had on people, as for her kind she hadn't a clue. She never really got sick enough to take medicine so she never had taken any.
Avery patted the pocket which jiggled with the sound of the pills hitting the bottles sides "They're my 'pretend to take the pain away' pills. Don't worry l'm not going to suddenly keel over from an overdose." Smiling he'd turn his attention to a tree not far off as he patted the other pocket which made a similiar sound "These are the 'helps keep the butterflies away' pills. So the beach. Are you going to tell me about it?"
Luna sighed. "I guess. It didn't look any different from any other beach, just sand and satly water. Strangly though there were birds there singing, I don't know why..." She hadn't realized that since the birds could tell she was some type of angel that the would want to sing with her prescence being about. "Have you ever since a beach?"
Avery nodded slightly with a smile still playing across his lips "I used to live on one. I loved the early morning the best. The world was still asleep so the sound of the waves would be soothing. The birds would chatter amongst one another probably looking for breakfast. The sun would be rising from behind the water giving the waves a firey look to them and the sky would be lit with colors so bright there just is no capturing their beauty." Avery's head would lean back on the bench as he spoke. His eyes were closed as if he were picturing the things as he spoke.
"You must of really loved it? Why did you stop living at the beach?" Luna remembered how she felt when she would through the clouds at night time and be able to see the moon and stars better than anything else. She only wished she could be able to explain it but sadly that was something she wasn't great at. She could still remember every night she went flying and beatuy she saw.
Avery sighed and brought his head up so he could look at Luna "Too many bad memories now. It would of been like living with ghosts." Avery shrugged his shoulders a little "But no one wants to talk about ghosts. How come you're out alone? Not as safe as it used to be for a girl to wander the area without someone else around to protect her."
Luna shrugged. "The rest of my family went out and I decided to do the same, walk around and see this place before I left town." That was a lie, Luna had no family here. Her older brother died many years ago and her parents outcasted from there kingdom so she was always on her own. She didn't seem to mind it much, she would always find someone to talk to and laught with.
Avery raised a brow at the girl "Well that wasn't very nice of your family to leave and not take you with them. How about some food? I think I could make it to the little cafe not far from here. My treat" He was nice sometimes and so far the girl didn't seem like a threat to him. "I have a basic standing reservation there because I am there so much. Good food and always nice people."
Luna shook her head. "No it is alright. I'm fine." Her kind didn't need food much and she didn't want Avery to waste his money on her. She knew better well that her family was not the best, well they were the worse.
Avery shook his head and started to shift his weight around a little. He'd reach under the back of his jacket where there would be the sound of a click. When his hand came back out in the open a thick black metal look stick about 7 or 8 inches long is sitting in his hand. He'd flick his wrist lightly and the bottom of the stick would slide out creating a decent sized cane. After forcing himself back up on his legs Avery would look over at Luna and smile "You wouldn't deny a dying man food now would you?"
Luna shook her head and stood up. "You're dying?" She hadn't caught the smell of death on him or could sense that there was anything wrong with him. She usually could smell death from a mile away and could sense if something was wrong with someone. She had great healing powers and extended people's lives just to give them a chance to fix the wrongs they have done. It wasn't surprising to see an exiled angel princess to be like that.
Avery chuckled and shrugged his shoulders. "Technically we're all dying. Now come little Luna.. Let me treat you to the best coffee and pie you'll ever taste." Avery wasn't lying. He was given his life expectancy to be roughly a year if he kept up the treatments. He had accepted the terms knowing he had very little left to live for. Using the cane he'd begin to walk a slow walk in the direction he originally came from. Though the cane looked thin it held the weight of the man easy enough. Upon standing Avery's clothes would look even more baggy than they had when he was sitting. His jeans were held up with a belt and his t-shirt looked at least two sizes too big. The jacket hung to just below his waist and was about a size too big as well. If Luna got close to him he wouldn't allow her to touch him. Outside of the handshake he's avoided touch thus far.
