IC thread here!
I'm reposting the summary I put in the LFRP thread here.
Aftbide is a village in the middle of cold nowhere, its only unique feature being that it rests under a great mountain; the lord of that village lives in his castle on said mountain. Its not visited often by common folk other than merchants during the summer who come to trade for certain goods. One night the village is taken by a villanous clan of bandits and their chief who kills the local guard and keeps the surviving villagers prisoner as they eat the stores the locals harvested for winter. Nobody outside the village (except the lord) knows anything is wrong so the bandits get away with this for two weeks.
Then my oblivious character Tara shows up hoping for a place to stay after she climbed down from that big mountain. The bandits, disguised as guards, try to kill her and steal her stuff so she defensively kills one and injures the other before running into the alleyways. To see if the town really is occupied by brigands she goes into a house to investigate; thats when she's grabbed by Katja and her Knights of the People! The knights are there at the lord's request to deal with the outlaw problem. Initially they think Tara is a bandit but once that's sorted out they strike an uneasy accord to fend off the bandits who are now knocking down doors to find the intruder(s). Katja mentions there's a blind albino fellow they need to defend in the meantime, so when the bandits show up they do just that (after the blind boy accidentally ruins their ambush). One of the militiamen named Drake murders a few guys; so does Katja, but in the process she accidentally blew a gigantic hole in the side of the building with alchemy (whoops.) So Tara points out they should leave and they do that too, just in time to see the building collapse behind them. Since the village has no walls they're able to just walk out of it into the woods.
The Knights of the People have a camp nearby that they go to to tend wounds and plan another attack. But when they reach the edge of said camp blind boy Marcello notices there's a magic protective ring that would expose his true identity as a Cambion (half demon.) Tara sees Drake is revealed to be an orc and figures Marcello can't be all that bad and tries to coax him across... only to see what he is and accidentally bring the camp mage and orc down on him. There's a brief chase, Tara tries to defend Marc and fails. Then she and Drake argue and he takes them back to camp (Marc unconscious, Tara pouting and him also pouting.)
The next day things become a bit hectic. A boy named Tom stumbles into camp, seemingly injured. Marecllo is healed and awake by now and can sense something odd about him. The cambion also keeps smelling odd things from the woods! The first time he investigates he and Tara run into a man who refuses to give his identity but states he's from the lord's castle. He gives Tara a package, telling her to return it to Katja. The two return to camp and split off; Tara heads to the knight's tent while the albino man hears a commotion from outside camp and goes to investigate.
He runs into a harpy and a man who just fell out of a tree; they'd been grappling up there and slipped, landing on the forest floor. He's trying to break it up. Meanwhile, Kerik the bandit has had a lovely morning being beaten by Drake. Tom stumbled into the tent the brigand's being held in and told the orc that if he heals Kerik, Tom will help with the interrogation. What they don't know is that the boy is capable of supernatural feats; he puts the bandit in a trance and demands that he comply, noting that if he doesn't he'll be raised as an undead of some kind. So far Kerik is complying swimmingly as he doesn't want to see what that means.
Oh also that man who left the package with Tara walked right into the village and has been locked in the tavern with a large portion of the villanous bandits still there. He's incidentally meeting with their chieftain, Grum the Pineless.
I didn't think my first post would be that long. I hope it was informative in the right ways. O_O Much like my other thread Aftbide exists in a sandbox setting. There are no rules about the world except what I wrote about the setting. its a village near a mountain, the time is night, the sky is clear but the place is dark since its not a hunter moon. Obviously the village has its own lights but they aint wasting candles keeping everything lit.
You could be anyone. You could incorporate your character into the village's denizens, one of the outlaws, even the lord (though that position can only be taken by one person.) Other lords can come but they aren't necessarily the lord overseeing that specific town.
If you have questions I believe it and am willing to answer to my best ability. A lot of this is intentionally vague, etc. to allow ease of access. I already talked your ear off on the IC thread, no need for me to get strict here.

Np. I'm gonna be out for an hour or so for taekwondo.
Edit: Bach
Edit 2: Strangely fitting music. Not sure if you're able to even look at this atm but I post it anyway.
Edit 3: I'd make Kerik a character sheet but I wasn't even planning on assigning a name to him before I realized he'd be a decent part of the initial post's PoV. For now he exists purely as a side character.

The blind kid that was mentioned is actually one of my other characters, but I normally dont use him for rp that isnt modern. However I found out that albinos were (and still are!) actually targeted for those purposes, especially in Africa
I realized that it might be when you brought him up and dug through your character list and found him. This rp is consisting of a lot more agreeable characters so far than the other one I started xD
I heard some information about that in one of those top ten videos floating on the internet. Don't figure it'd be too much different in a setting where there's no way to tell.

Marcello is probably one of the most wholesome characters I have, he's so agreeable with everyone. He gets walked all over because of it lmao. Iskra's so different compared to him.
Tara's just like "why this boy fall tho". I don't imagine he'll like the patting. Also the guy who got pwned was probably the guy who suspected there were multiple people in my headcanon. RIP perception crusader, you'll never be forgotten.
Edit: I realized a couple of days ago that Katja and Tara are actually very similar people. Both have insomnia, both have frustration problems, both have almost arbitrary desire to protect the needy and both tend to wear a bunch of armor. One time my gf asked for a summary of what was going on and I basically just told her that Irish Tara ran into blonde Tara and struck an uneasy accord. That's not to be condescending, I was actually rather pleased.

Dead honest, he probably felt a spider on him or something, he's easily panicked, and being in that situation, being hunted and hiding probably wasn't helping lmao.
lmao that's funny. A friend of mine had a character once, named Lucy Mae Jones, and ran across another girl named Lucille Mae Jones, and it was the funniest situation cause their characters were polar opposites, one was a ganster from chicago and the other was a sweet country girl.

That is a fantastic situation and now I'm curious about how it turned out. Makes me think of a situation a few years back where a kinda proto-version of Tye who'd been indoctrinated into a cult and was murder-y ran into a narcoleptic paladin who ran her own tea business. End of the day they were both sleeping under a tree. Nothing scandalous happened, they just became unlikely friends. It means a lot because even normal, rogue Tye is difficult to calm down.
It actually ended pretty nice, by what I remember of her telling me. by what I remember, the last time they interacted, the gangster had gotten into a gunfight on her property and so she ended up charging in there with a shotgun and patching up the other woman. They weren't very close friends but it was an interesting duo.
I always love the unlikely friendships, they're my favorites.

They are. Colorful is the term I'd use.
I feel simultaneously bad for Marcello and gleeful to throw him through the ringer. I feel the same way about Kerik so I thought they should meet.
Usually people who are knocked out by blunt force trauma wake up pretty quickly but Kerik doesn't have much left in him anyway, or else Tara would've taken the extra time to shank him. She also didn't want to traumatize Marc any more than he already was

Man, dont even worry, he's a really optimistic guy so put him through all the hell in the world. He's not broken yet!
Most people I run into in modern rp always treat him like he's handicapped and it just gets tiring after a while.I mean yeah he is handicapped but read the kids bio at least. Like, he's a pretty capable guy when he's not panicking. And in an ironic twist, when he's panicking is usually when he can tap into his Cambion blood. A fantasy RP gives more chances for him to possibly run into a higher demon who can release his seals
Ive never used him in a medieval RP tho, so its an exploring process. I may convert his bio fully (and his brothers in that case haha) but who knows, it all depends.
Edit: I just realized, I can imagined Dr. Salih getting along well with Romulus, just based off their morals

I can tell you at least that Tara doesn't think any less of him for his emotional response to what's happening. She's no stranger to anxiety, and in reality was probably just as horrified by the explosion and blood as he was. She's just really good at masking it. Not the kind of character to try and force other folks to do the same thing though. I don't like to give away extensive histories, though I was a bit generous with the one on her page, but she's got like several other characters she knows who are on both sides of that reactive spectrum. Aggressive folks and people who are just as likely to faint. She sees the latter people in Marcello which actually helps her to empathize with him more.
Dr. Salih would indeed like the cut of Romulus' jib. When I saw the rp you started I'd considered maybe joining with him as a walking omen, to briefly crash the lord's party with doom-saying, but I also didn't want to ruin the vibe if you were going for something else. If you have something in mind I can accommodate, he doesn't have to be up front and personal.

Marcello's just a generally soft and mushy character. I'm one to give away whole backstories tbh, unless they're important for storyline development like Romulus' was. But Marcello's one of those guys who's really just the definition of "cinnamon roll" and all he wants is a nice relaxing time but all he ever gets is fights and depression lmao.
Man dude, by all means. That's definitely the vibe that was being gone for there, Romulus wouldn't be at a party like that otherwise haha

Alright. I'm gonna see about this IC thread and then try to formulate an appropriately dark and atmospheric entry for the boi
In all likelihood he was actually invited to the party, though people would know him by a different name. Spoopy
I noticed that Rome and Venice were mentioned in the OP. I feel the need to ask for a general rundown of where the party's taking place, country wise. Italian city-states? France? The name Lord Julius makes me think of Italians.

Northern Italy, not as close to the hustle and bustle of those bigger cities. Near current Verona, if you need a more specific location
I just assumed there'd be renaissance-like statues because the Italian peninsula is always played up as stylin'. I mean just look at the hats they wore probably not into battle! (Though there are pictures that depict them doing so)
Also Tara takes responsibility for everything, even things she's not responsible for. If they survive long enough to help the villagers recover you know she's gonna try to help rebuild that house.

Yeah Julius is an extra prick like that, he'd definitely have statues all over the place. And that's really funny yet doesn't surprise me at all lmao
Katja's going to be right there with her. She actually got hired to try and run out the bandits, so she's salty about having destroyed it
