"Well it's not like there's much else to talk about." Heinrich said. "How goes her training?" Heinrich asked. "Has she picked up on any of the Holy spells yet? Assuming you have began to teach them to her." Heinrich questioned.
"Her use in magic has not yet reached the level of studying those spells. She has however mastered elemental magic. Her skills with ice are outstanding." He explains. "As you know she isn't human."
"Well, her kind are naturals at ice Magic." Heinrich said. "I recall nearly being frozen solid by an Elementalist Y'Kish during the war a few decades back." Heinrich said. "How about her skills with her sword and shield?" He questioned. He had to admit, he despised Jackie. She was obnoxious, never thought ahead, and rushed into combat too eagerly. But Heinrich could tell one someone had the potential to become a great warrior.
"Yes her skills are growing. She was able to deal a near lethal blow to the chimera using her magic and blade skills." He smirks. "She may be rash but she's young. You're five times her age nearly sir. Give her time. Maturity simply takes some time with different individuals."
Heinrich nodded. "Hopefully she matures soon. That lack of forethought could wind up killing her one of these days." Heinrich said. "And if it does it'd be a massive waste of potential." Heinrich said.
"Yes she'll be a great warrior when her training it complete. Her potential is certainly there." As they ride along they start to pass several carts and trading wagons. "I'd say we're getting close."
Heinrich nodded as they passed a massive foot print. "Left by one of those Chimeras?" He asked indicating the foot print.
"Hard to tell. Could also be a troll. They're in this area a lot as you probably know." Wilhelm says looking over the area. "Why strike here though if it is them?"
"Intimidation perhaps?" Heinrich offered. "Everyone knows Elves aren't the best fighters." Heinrich said. "Maybe that Necromancer decided to hit an easier target before returning to Amestra?" Heinrich suggested. "Regardless, the motive doesn't matter." Heinrich said. "We'll be arriving at Taryll soon. We can ask the locals their opinions once we arrive." Heinrich said.
"That's true but I can't help but wonder why they'd do it. What could be the motive?" He thought as they came to a guard patrol. "Halt what is your purpose here Paladins?" They ask. There were three of them. Each wearing standard armor and a cart pulled by two horses sat on the side of the road for security checks.
"We've received reports from Taryll Outpost of undead attacks. "We're seeking a Necromancer that we believe may be connected to these undead attacks." Heinrich said.
They stand back. "Yes sir. I apologize we're just cautious thanks to the numerous attacks. Please be on your way." They bow and allow the Paladins to pass. "Thank you soldiers." Wilhelm says nodding.
It wasn't much further before they reached Taryll Outpost. Thankfully, the outpost itself had yet to be attacked, but judging by the fortifications they were preparing for an attack. The gates to the outpost opened and Wilhelm and Heinrich were allowed inside. They were eventually greeted by an Elf woman. She was surprisingly tall for an Elf, nearly being on eye-level with Wilhelm. "I'm so relieved that you had finally arrived.." The Elf said. "My name is Numa Potillo. I'm in charge of this outpost." The Elf introduced, giving a bow. She wore a fairly regal dress, judging by the reds and golds in it. Her skin was pale but had a faint greenish tint to it. Her hair was a dark red.
Numa had two guards with her. The guards were male Elves slightly shorter then her and they had halberds with large powerful blades. They stood at attention with a level of discipline famous for the Elves. Their armor looked bronze with gold highlights. "Thank you Madame Potillo. What is the situation? These added fortifications seem to mean you've been assaulted before? As this goes beyond normal security for these types of places."
"Oh, no. We haven't been attacked yet. But with the stories the survivors of the attacks had told I felt it would be wise to fortify the outpost in the possibility of an attack." Numa explained. "And outside of undead attacks on our caravans, I'm not quite sure what else is going on." Numa added. "Though we have gotten reports of gargantuan monsters that are nearly unstoppable." She added. "We know for a fact they aren't Orc raiders or Trolls of any kind." Numa said. "Have you tried hunting down these undead to figure out where they're coming from?" Heinrich asked. Numa shook her head. "No. We don't have the men to do so. At least not anymore." Numa said. "As the caravans began to be attacked the Captain that resides in the outpost had begun to assign guards to the caravans until they got to Vuurite, a small village North of here." Numa said. "Thanks to the attacks we've lost a good portion of our men." She said.
Wilhelm listened to what Numa said. It did sound similar. But why would these undead be attacking here? "Do you have any reasons to believe why you're being attacked? Is there anything here which could be of interest to these undead? Anything at all?" He asks as the question of why always eats away at him. There had to be a reason for these attacks.
Numa shook her head. "Perhaps the one responsible needs the goods we receive and send out?" She offered. "We'll figure it out soon enough." Heinrich said. "Are there any near by grave sites or tombs?" Heinrich asked. "None that are tended too. Most are ancient and have been here for centuries." Numa said. Heinrich nodded. "Wilhelm gather a regiment of guards. Once we're done unpacking we'll set out and scout hte surrounding area." Heinrich said.
"As you wish sir." Wilhelm wanders off with two soldiers. "Madame Potillo may I please have access to your supply logs? It would be very useful to see what supplies you typically have in an attempt to determine why they're here."
Numa nodded, before she headed off. Heinrich turned and began to unpack the carriage. He moved a few crates and bags before noticing something odd. He looked down seeing a dark green, furry thing poking out from behind a crate. It looked kinda like a tube. Heinrich moved the crate and found Jackie, leaned up against a bag, fast asleep. His eyes narrowed as a snarl escaped his lips. He grabbed onto the furry tube, Jackie's tail, and dragged her off the carriage.
Jackie slept through the movement, but when she was pulled of the carriage, she hit the ground with a thud. Her eyes shot open and she quickly sat up, arm arched over her shoulder, grabbing her sword. She looked around confused for a moment before noticing Heinrich, glaring down at her like he was about to eat her alive. "Uh... h-hi, Councilor Heinrich!" Jackie mumbled sheepishly. Heinrich turned to one of the guards running about the outpost. "Find Wilhelm, the Paladin that came with me and have him get out here now." Heinrich ordered, before the guard ran off.

Wilhelm was taken to a storehouse where items were cataloged. Dozens of trading stalls were set up as people sold and traded their wares. He was given a book stating things and money which came in and out of the outpost. But as quickly as he was given it a guard approached.
"Paladin Wilhelm. Paladin Heinrich has requested your presence at the stables." Wilhelm cocks and eyebrow.
"What is this about?" He says confused.
"He wouldn't say. He just said it was president that you get there now." Wilhelm nods.
"Understood, thank you." He wanders off wondering what this was about. When he arrived he was about to ask when he saw the green figure of his apprentice. His eyes widened as his blood started to boil slightly. Of course she tagged along. He thought.
