So my idea is that my character, the alien, is fleeing the war that his planet is in and he crash lands on Earth. He and the human can either meet at once and are friends and try to keep the alien away from various world governments or just one (and maybe go into space?) or the alien tries to blend in with humans but The human suspects him and they are enemies at first but then become unlikely friends and have everything with the governments and the space happen. Some combat will probably (definitely) arise and I'm good with both romance and swearing happening or not happening, depending on whatever is wanted by who joins or what they're comfy with.
No magic at all.
Modern
Combat is expected as part of the storyline but it won't dominate the plot.
