Hello fellow roleplayers I am Glimey and I've been in dire need of some fun, and some practice. That's the reason I am now in search of a partner (or two) to meld creativity and skill to create a roleplay that not only we can be proud of but learn from. This is a serious inquiry, so I would definitely want replies to be that of someone who is trying to obtain similar goals in improving their writing through a (hopefully) fun and interesting roleplay. This is my return to roleplaying but I used to participate in many way back when. They were some of the most fun I've had and I wish to recapture that feeling again.
As of right now I have a lot of free time, but that's bound to change as it always does. With that being said one reason I am looking for some dedicated writers is that most people have lives and schedules that change. What I would like is someone who will continue to work on the roleplay even if life hits them in the face. I'm not asking for speed necessarily but dedication and communication so if things do get rough we can work something out.
Another reason I am in search of a responsible, dedicated partner is simply that I would like to complete a roleplay. I've completed very few Roleplay in my "career" and i would like to change that. Those that I have completed were with some close friends, so i figured searching for few people and trying to form a close-knit writer's circle would be the best way to do so.
To elaborate more on wanting to improve my writing. I tend to not let others read my personal, solo projects as I am afraid of critique (or something like that, I actually don't know the specific reason). But with a partner thats something I wanted the other to help me with, an insight into my writing so to speak. And vice-versa if i can be of any help to whoever responds. There are also a few other writing specific skills I wanted to work on, but i should leave those for later as this post can get pretty long.
As of right now, I have a couple ideas that have been rattling around my head but I am pretty much open to anything, as long as it is interesting.
Idea #1: Recently I've been playing a lot of Battlefield 1, which has gotten me more interested in warfare to a degree. I've been researching the evolution of firearms and some older wars. One of which is known as the "Forgotten War", the war of Korea. 5 years after World War 2 this war, according to some historians, goes pretty much forgotten with Vietnam overshadowing it. The war was instigated after Japan lost control of Korea and the North pushed its way down to dominate a now independent Korea. This was stopped in time by U.S. forces getting the okay from the U.N. to prevent the dangerous communist "Domino Effect" that was sweeping through Eastern countries. During this time The USSR and China were looking for an effective leader for the communist Korean forces. A popular leader in Northern Korea at the time was a man known as Cho Man Sik. He was the fourth runner in the race to lead Korea, but his ideals were that of Korea choosing its own future, and these did not align with that of northern Korea's backers... communist countries. This man was put in house arrest and eventually disappeared under mysterious circumstances. This roleplay idea takes place during this time frame, the communist are in search of a new leader (before Kim Sung Il comes into play) and with no luck, they place in charge a (fictional)temporary communist war general in the north to keep pushing the lines of war against Southern Korea. Not too long after which, our true antagonist will kill this man and assume control of Northern Korea. All while continuing communications as if everything were normal with the USSR and China. This new radical Korean leader is a superstitious man, drawing knowledge from the occult, using fortune tellers, and many other odd things... but is he on to something? Thats about as far as the idea matured. Overall i wanted it to be a Not-so-Modern War Occult Roleplay...
Idea #2: This is another idea that has also spawned from playing too many video games. I've been playing UFC 2 and getting more familiar with the fighting styles and rules, but as with the previous idea might require a little bit of research. Anyway, the plot would be centered around a modern-day fighting competition. There were two approaches I was considering taking. One was that of an underground Fighting ring, this take would allow us to take a more gritty (or not) direction with our characters choices, actions, and reasoning behind participating in an illegal fighting competition. The other route would be that of a professional fighting competition. Bothe of these scenarios are undeveloped so thats about as much as I got.
Like I mentioned before, I am open to any interesting ideas you may have, or we could cultivate a completely new one if wanted. If you are interested in writing with me PM or leave a reply here.
Thank you for your interest.
