A friend (Novalyyn) suggested this site as a venue to vent out creative energy and meet new people in what was described as a friendly and inviting setting. I'm not entirely sure what I'm looking for in the way of RP but the idea of trying out new things again seemed appealing.
I grew up playing a lot of tabletop RP and found a lack of compelling plot to be a disappointment. I believe that to be mostly a lack of investment on the GM's part as a storyteller. My writing skills are a bit rusty from a lack of practice, so I ask for patience if my skill is not up to what you would typically find reasonable.
I am an agender individual. I only bring this up to request that you use they/them pronouns should you feel the need to refer to me using any pronouns, though I prefer my name to the use of pronouns. I realize that can be clunky in writing but it is do-able. In character that may vary (I have been known to play characters of various genders) but of course that will be made clear on a character to character basis.
As far as RP topics/settings I am open to most anything, as my profile name implies my interests are eclectic. In the long run, it's easier to answer to what I don't enjoy. I'm not feeling it necessary to list here but I can let you know if an idea jives with me or not.
I am an artist, I work mostly in acrylic paint and abstract color theory work. I'm working on going back to school to get a degree in art therapy. I frequent a number of events ranging from gaming conventions to pirate LARPs. I consider myself a fairly reasonable person but as is true for most people I have moments of non-clarity and have been known to make mistakes.
I look forward to chatting with you folks.

It is reassuring to read it confirmed from other people. I'm glad to know that.
Welcome to RPR! Ooh, art! One of my favourite subjects! What inspires you to draw, if I may ask? ^^

The best explanation is that I never grew out of craft time that we had in early school. A secondary explanation is that I frequently struggle with words (yeah that's a thing to say in a RP forum heh) and find it easier to convey certain things with art instead.

Ah, well said. Let the art explain what words cannot. That's very inspiring!

Welcome aboard! Nice to have you here! ^^
Yar? Yoh ho rum and stuff? I suppose I'm more of a stowaway than anything... Never asked for permission to come aboard.
Sorry... been at too many pirate festivals lately.
Welcome to RPR! I get the whole lack-of-compelling-tabletop-plots problem. Most of the games I played were with bloodthirsty heathens friends of mine who only seemed interested in PvP. Fortunately, plots are the foundation of roleplays, so I hope you have fun here. Let us know if you have any questions.

PvP is part of why I left my last LARP group. They took it to a point where it was no longer fun...
It needs to be a balance if the mechanic is present.
I tend to prefer story but PvP can be fun if it makes sense in the story. Ex. My friend had a character that felt betrayed by a decision the team made and left. He made a second player to keep playing with the group but his starting character came back having joined the villian's team.

I've done play-by-post before but a lack of postitive outlets kind of pushed me away from it in past years.
Hey there! Nice to see you. ^^ If you need any help with anything, you can ask pretty much anyone, really. Folks around here generally like to help. Me included.

Welcome to RPR.
I RP mainly canons, but I interact with people's OCS. RP is about fun.

I've been known to do both depending on my knowledge of the cannon and the plot involved
