The Laurel Mental Institute is a large building in the secluded and sleepy town of Laurel. It's painted as a place for recovery from mental illnesses like eating disorders, self-harm, anxiety, OCD, and others. The aim is to help patients adjust and learn to cope with their disorders, but to the patients, within the Institute, it seems more like a prison. One of the newer patients, Eleven Damon is struggling to adjust to the drastic change, refusing to admit she even has a problem. She's been thrown into her worst nightmare, and it seems she's never going to recover. Will the blank walls of Laurel provide a clean slate on the rocky road to recovery, or will they only reflect a bleak future of hopeless plummet?

Will you offer a hand to pull her up, or are just as hopelessly lost?

So I'm new here and I was just randomly inspired to set up this place for my character and any others. This doesn't really fit into a certain category as I would like to keep it fairly open. So some romance and violence is okay. Looking for a smaller medium sized group, four to six. Both patients and staff are welcomed. If you're interested I would love to start something, just PM me.

That sounds like a very fascinating story would a person need to build a character specifically for this story? He only one I has at this moment is a barbarian haha but I'd be happy to make another

It's up to you, as long as he has some kind of mental disorder that would warrant admittance into a mental institution, he can be accepted as a patient, or he could be some sort of staff member, it's entirely up to you, but he could fit into the story easily enough with a few tweaks. If you want to make another character that's fine too, I'm excited to see where the story will take any who decided to come along.

This looks perfect for two of my characters who are both insane.
I'm now working on a new character though who has MPD (multi-personality-disorder) and suffers from depression and anxiety (which causes her to self harm).
I was thinking I could use her?

I am going to start a forum for it once I feel we have enough characters to make it interesting, which we almost do. I was thinking one or two more characters just to keep everyone busy and keep the story moving so we will be starting pretty soon depending on if anyone else seems interested.

Also, I made my character and I've got a few minor tweaks I have to fix, then she'll be ready.

Hello, I am interested in this roleplay and was wondering if I could join.
I am fairly new to this but I have been In a roleplay before.
I replied about once a day, I hope that is ok, and I would be playing this charcter.
Also please keep in mind that while I have researched it I don't know exactly what a Clinical Psychologists would do.
