Ryiah's nerves jerked as Taff ripped the back of her shirt, feeling the rain and wind on the exposed flesh of her back as she clutched at the front to make sure it stayed on. With a last frantic thought she remembered what would come next and quickly removed her cloak, flinging it to the side so it wouldn't tear. Perhaps she would be able to find it again later, when she'd need its covering again.
She felt Taff's fingers trace her dragon scales, the skin around them tingling some. Then as he spoke her eyes flashed wide, her vision going completely black for an extended moment. She had no knowledge of how long passed, only of a searing pain that seemed to take hold of her entire form, muscles, bone, sinew, blotting out all else. Perhaps she cried out, perhaps not, she couldn't tell.
The rain, the wind, the others, all faded away until she knew nothing for a flickering moment. Suddenly she shifted, feeling strange, and her eyes blinked open. A wetness fell from the sky, but it was nothing to her now. It barely registered to her large ebony and purple scaled form. She shifted, kneading the ground on strong feet, her claws gouging the earth. Menace momentarily glittered in her still amber orange eyes as she noticed the small forms below her, hiding, yet obviously staring in curiosity. She puffed out a breath, a vaporous mist rather than smoke emitting. Who were they? Why did they stare? Anger sparked within her and she moved to crush them. Yet suddenly a memory flickered, as if a different conciousness still fully her own fought against the urge to destroy them. No... she needed them for something. But what? She was confused, and there was a strange pull from the one who'd called her name at the beginning. A strange feeling that he held sway over her. Yet how could that be? He was so puny, and she so mighty. A growl rumbled low in her chest.
"Why are you here?" her voice fell like musical rain in their minds, though tinged with strength and ferocity. It didn't even occur to her to wonder why she was here. It just felt right. She had something to accomplish. There was something here she wanted...
Gazing at the small forms, three male and one female, she tried to prod their consciousness to find out their intentions. She would not allow them to toy with her. Yet she must find out why she felt as if she needed them.

Kendra took a small step back, her eyes wide as she saw what once was the princess transform into this new being. The hairs on the back of her neck stood on and as it cast it's terrifying glance over them. For once in her life, she didn't know what to say. Words formed in her mind but none left her mouth for at least a few moments after she spoke.
She took a breath and looked the best in the eyes, fire ran through them as it ran through her heart. "We're here to aid you in your search for the storm seed." She said regaining her strong stance. "You brought us here in your other form, to grant your father's wish." She said with a sly smile.

"Ahhh.... a mighty and majestic purple dragon, just like your father... that does indeed make you royalty among your kind too... it means... living flesh is your element and you can restore health with your breath" sighed Taff in relief stopping to cower behind Calico and Rufus.
"Well... meet your rider... her name is Snake..." muttered Taff somewhat uncomfortable around the creature, passing Snake the golden rope, a lasso to tie around its neck and take it for a fly
"Just capture it and call its name, climb aboard and fly away, no matter what, do not let go of the rope till it settles. Dragons are proud animals they don't take kindly to smaller creatures somewhat dominating them" advised Taff writing the beast's name on the sand, letters that spelled Sendara "So...since she might get a little angry or restless.. I'm just going to .. uhh... well... find shelter... I don't want to be her meal..." trailed off Taff cowering behind rocks and overgrown bushes, Rufus following suit as well.
Calico was too gobsmacked to even react, taking in every detail of her large fearsome body and features, after a time he backed away a little, watching. If Snake courage failed he would do it, in the meantime, ladies first

Sendara turned a somewhat cold eye first upon Kendra as she piped up, her words ringing annoyingly true, then upon Taff as the warlock handed over a golden rope to the woman.
The gesture caused Sendara's head to raise in high suspicion. This woman did not look like a dragon rider to her. In fact, the idea of being ridden by any caused the misty vapor to snort from her nose again and shake her head. No... this would not do for her at all.
Her wings suddenly unfurled, causing any who remained close enough to be caught by their length to go sprawling. On the underside of her wings, as if suspended in an ebony sky, were donzens of dazzling silver specks resembling stars in the night sky.
Then, she was in the air before Kendra could come near enough with the golden rope. For a moment, the flight nearly drove her competely wild, nearly took from her the last essance of Ryiah Bet’Luna, and she prepared a breath of the scalding water boiling within her, vapor pouring from her maw. Yet inwardly the battle raged. Sendara needed them, these rather pathetic mortals. Her gaze moved back to them as she finally snapped her jaws shut with an annoyed click.
Swooping low, her claws first closed around the one who'd remained nearest, gawking like a child in a toystore, lifting him only halfway gently into the air. Next she found Kendra and gripped the female in a similar fashion, the rope firmly tucked beneath her claw so that it was stuck. Next she flew low over the hiding places of Taff and Rufus, collecting one each in her mighty hind claws, jostling them roughly but surprisingly gentle for what it could have been. Despite her immense size amd strength, carrying the four humans was a trying task, and her wings strained to catch the helpful drafts of wind gusting upward, finally finding some that gave her the loft she needed.
Then up, up, up the spire of brutal cliff face she circled, wings outspread and roaring joyously to be in flight. Finally the pinnacle came into sight, the storm flashing and wild here unlike anywhere else. The thrill of the storm caused Sendara to bugle again, her voice matching that of the thunder. Setting the four down upon the soaked earth, near a high collumn of rock which looked a bit like pillars, she settled herself nearby, her limbs a bit tired from the exertion.
Open space stretched all around them, where one could easily fall off of any one side, from so much as a stumble. At the very center, the storm was somehow calmer, and an eerie orange light crackled in what looked like a dark cloud. Nearby, a huge beast though smaller than Sendara herself, looked to be waking. It's forked tongue slithered in and out, taking the scents of the newcomers, it's green eyes opening in angry menace. It looked much like a lizard, though its body was much more muscled, and its claws razor sharp. A legendary Basilisk, said to be able to turn a mortal to stone if it's gaze is caught.

Kendra's heart nearly stopped as she began to fly away, would that be it, would they leave without the storm seed? Yet, when the might dragon circled back and picked up Calico, then her, she felt her heart let out a little burst one after the other, was she terrified or just excited? She wondered as her heart kept leaping, threatening to burst from her chest. As she stared over the steep cliff face as they ascended. She heard the storm call and Sendara answer. This wasn't Ryiah anymore, she wondered if they would ever get her back. As she was set down she left the rope on the ground, looking around at the top of this cliff. It was beautiful. She listened to the storm, and then something else.
As she heard the thing wake, she glanced towards it, than away. That thing she had heard off. She immediately, lowered her gaze to the things feet and tail, how were they going to beat this beast? If they looked up, the fear of being turned to stone would freeze them anyway, but if the thing bit them, it's poison would kill them as well. "Don't look it in the eyes!" Kendra yelled. "That is, unless you want to be a statue on that beautiful ship of yours." She took out her sword, not sure how it would help. The blade shined like that of the moon, even in the clouded dark sky, she held it in front of her as she slowly started to back up, glancing back momentarily to make sure she would walk over the edge.

Taff Gelligen looked at Calico.
"The lighting rod, use the storm power to fry the beast while I collect the stone" suggested Taff Gelligen watching Rufus cough uncomfortable
"I can't... I dropped the rod in the sea by accident, I wasn't expecting this beast to snatch us too... it startled me when it did, I tried to hang onto the dragon in case it dropped us and the thing slipped off my hand..." confessed Rufus.
"Cursed be Neptune, why did I ever trust you with such important task" winced Calico "We must go back down to the beach and dive deeper into the sea" concluded Calico looking at Kendra, Taff quickly thinking about asking Nephaeth the sea serpent for help

Golden rope forgotten where Kendra had dropped it, Sendara remained still for the time being, watching the strange creature not far away as it slithered around the center, as if it guarded something important. Her gaze then caught the glowing orange energy suspended in the storm. Treasure she thought, the deep instictive drive to collect it urging her to stand and take several steps forward.
She had heard Kendra's words and glanced toward the Basilisk with only slight wariness. She thought it rather looked like a good size meal. Why were these mortals worried about a lightening rod?
She turned her orange amber gaze on the others, a slow snarl eminating from her chest. She would try to get the treasure with or without them soon. She was beginning to lose track of why she had thought she needed them. That other... presence seemed to be fading by the minute.
Nephaeth glided and twisted, back within her trueform, reminded of how much she loved the sea by her short time spent as a human. She had already nearly forgotten them... all but the warlock. He had been more powerful than she, and forgetting that would be foolhardy.
The warning she had given them had only been partially heeded, as she'd taken note of the smaller boat that had made its way to the Island of neverending storm... no she did not venture there.

Kendra glanced at Calico. "I'm not drowning for a golden rod that may or may not work!" She yelled at him. "How do you even expect to get back up once you're down?" She yelled over the storm, glancing at Sendara, who was giving them a look that made her a bit uneasy.
"I think our special friend is getting a bit impatient, is there any chance you get Ryiah back?" She yelled at Taff. As she glanced back towards the moving Basilisk.
She would glance back at Calico, her eyes steady. "If anyone is going to go and get the staff that you're first mate dropped, it's one of you." She said with a glance back towards the enemy. "I'm a snake, snake's don't swim." She kept her stance, strong, even though she was feeling a bit less than that. This was a lot more trouble than it was worth at the moment, she couldn't remember why she stepped on that forsaken boat with the girl in the first place, although she was all tied up in it now, no going back. So she stood ready to face whatever fate would await her, still not looking the beast in the eyes.

"You are the dragon rider so capture the beast and get us all down there, a dive from this height would be fatal" pointed out Calico arms crossed in protest
"When we are on the shore I will figure a way to make her human again and get that rod, using him" explained Calico Jack finger pointing at Taff
A hair curling scream filled the air as Rufus was bitten in the leg by the creature wrestling himself free but the poison causing him fever, shivers and sweat as well as blurry vision very quickly

Sendara moved more quickly than many would have thought possible - as the Basilisk bit into Rufus she made her move, latching onto the beast behind its head with a mighty crunch of her jaws, its blood leaking from her maw. A vicious growl emitted from her throat, and then scalding hot water burned from her maw to encompass the now doomed creature.
As its writhing and screams died down she held it still behind the head so it couldn't thrash away. Finally it lay still and she released it, circling it as if considering how best to consume it. In her mind, it had been in the way of securing her treasure, because of course, it was hers. Now she would feast before claiming the prize.
The others were momentarily only an afterthought, and she seemed completely unconcerned with the imminent death of the pirate Rufus.

Kendra glanced around and watched as Sendara simply destroyed the beast. Her heart nearly stopped at how close she would have to get to it, but she couldn't just stand and do nothing. She sheathed her sword and grabbed the magic rope, holding it firmly in her hands as she ran through the grass towards Sendara, her steps were silent over the wet grass as she leaped up to slide the rope over the head and around it's neck, barely landing on her neck. She was unbalanced, yet she held very tightly to the rope.
"Sendara, to the beach." She said, holding onto the rope looking at the others. "Grab then, and quick!" She yelled to them as she held on, a snake on a dragon? This wouldn't go well, she could already tell.

Her jaws had come so near to closing once more upon the Basilisk, to fill her belly with the beast who had dared to come between her and her treasure. Yet as she leaned in she felt a tingling burning sensation around her neck, the feeling spreading to take hold of her mind as well. What madness was this? Had the puny mortal woman just dared to climb upon her back? Indeed the woman had settled just at the crook of her neck, a golden rope now encircling it. She reared back suddenly on her hind legs twisting her head to glare at Kendra, a hiss of vapor perhaps puffing across the woman's face.
Yet she found she couldn't destroy the woman. Something within her now was held enthralled, tightening against her own will. Enraged she beat her wings and took to the sky, trying to dislodge the mortal from her back with twists, beating her tail through the air and snapping at the rope around her neck. Yet for some reason the thin rope held against her razor sharp jaws.
Landing once more, perilously close to the others, she roared, circling still, trying to figure out why she couldn't just rip the woman off. Suddenly she fell still, the tingling burn in her mind causing a strange calm to fall over her and her once blazing hues glazed ever so slightly. Inwardly she still felt tremendous turmoil, confused as to why she felt she must obey, yet obey she did, her mind fighting it even as her body took flight once again, moving to pick up the other three once more at Kendra's command.
With a swooping spiral she coasted down, emitting a roar of confused anger as she was forced to leave her treasure at the top still, unknowing of the plans the group still had. Usually so dicerning of all, it was as if a fog now held her once sharp mind, dampening it slightly.

Taff Gelligen was all too relieved to touch the sand of the beach, feeling its grains which caused a mild tickle, it could have been enjoyable if it were not for the blasted rain and furious wind and roaring seas, even then, he was counting his blessings that Sendara finally had been claimed by its rider and tamed.
"Sendara ... thank you for the help" called out Taff causing the spell to end and letting her free to return to her human form if she wished, Taff quickly bringing her the cloak just in case.
He shook his head at Rufus who laid upon the sand unconscious and bleeding and gazed into the sea to summon the serpent.
"Nephaeth... I need your help..." shouted out Taff causing Calico to raise a puzzled eyebrow.
"I hope you haven't lost your marbles, we need a useful servant not a liability" scolded Calico seeing Taff talk to the waves, clearly nobody there with such atrocious weather

The waters seemed to vibrate with the strength of the warlocks call. Nephaeth would have liked to pretend she did not hear it. Yet almost without thought she found her sinuous length turning and gliding toward the island of neverending storm. Something had changed.... the evil was diminished. The storm continued unabated however.
Finally Taff and the others would see her majestic head raise from the depths several yards out from the Islands banks. You summoned me...? her voice slithered through Taff's mind, annoyance as well as curiosity emanating from her.
Sendara needed her treasure... felt its pull from high atop the cliff still, even as the warlock whispered her name once again, and she felt something shift within her, a sudden unlocking. Then a flood of fire seemed to consume her being as Ryiah returned to conciousness. "No! .." the word was the first to exit her human vocal chords, a remainder of Sendara's fury.
The blackness lingered a long moment as Ryiah became aware of the rain gusting down and quenching some of the pain that lingered. Gasping aloud at the intesity of it, she realized she lay upon the sand, her skin pressed against its soaked grains. Then something else caught her attention, she was naked. Gasping again, still unknowing how she came to be here, disoriented, and frantic, she darted her glance around and noticed first the others in close proximity, then her cloak lying nearby. Grabbing it, she fumbled with it slightly, feeling clumsy in this human form now.
A blush hot on her cheeks, for reasons that eluded her still, she finally managed the cloak. Hanging down to just below her knees, it covered her enough to barely keep her decent. Keeping one hand clutched at the front, she sat by the cliff, eyes forward toward the sea a moment as she saw a great head rise out of its depths. Then her gaze shot first to Kendra, then to Calico Jack. Their names returned to her memory, the rest only slowly following. Pain still lingered and she still seemed disoriented.
Finally, she noticed Rufus laying on the sand, uncontious and bleeding. With a gasp of worry she leapt clumsily to her bare feet, nearly falling, and moved to the pirates side, looking down at him with a creased brow. "What happened?" She whispered, finding her voice. "What is going on?"

Kendra wasn't sure what she was feeling as they touched down on the beach, when Ryiah transformed back, she just smiled at her, did she really not know? She walked over to her and set a hand on her shoulder. "Well you see, we got really close to the storm seed, but the smart men over there dropped the golden rod into the sea, then he got bit by a basilisk." She said with a sigh looking at Rufus. "Although I got to ride a dragon, so all was well." She said with a grin.
She knew it wasn't fine, she knew that if Rufus didn't get that poison out of his system, his death would be painful. She looked at Ryiah again with a nod. "Thought we'd actually lost you inside the beast for a moment." She said nodding again. "Well Calico, we're on the beach, what's your plan now?" She asked looking at him.

Calico was still and tense, staring at the giant serpent that had an angry and unfriendly look on its face.
"Taff... you better know what you're doing, I don't avoid a basilisk and a dragon to end up a snake's meal" muttered Calico
Taff Gelligen knelt by the beach drawing the lightning rod on the sand
"I called your name to grovel for help. This lighting rod ... it was cast into the sea and we desperately need it back... can you help us? And if so... what do you ask in return?" Asked Taff pointing at the picture

Nephaeth moved a bit closer, watching Taff's finger as it travelled through the sand to form a picture. The true image of the thing moved to her mind, as she had passed it on her way here. She eyed the group for a long silent moment, noting the one who had shifted to human form only moments before. So that was the blood she had scented. The woman was royal, her blood strong and true. The pirate laying on the sand struggled, and Nephaeth considered him for a moment. "Heee willl not last the hour out if not given aidd sooon." she hissed, still only speaking to Taff's mind. The others, with the possible exception of the dragon woman, were not worthy.
"The dragon woman... she can healll himmm." Nephaeth continued. For some reason this groups plight seemed to be something of interest to her. "But ittt may take convincinng while she iss dragonn.. we serpents, dooo not meddle in humman affairs offten... I will return"
With that, and with no other warning, Nephaeth proceeded to disappear back under the cerulean depths, the water churning in stormh anger. Several long aginizing moments ticked by on the surface, the storm raging as ever. Finally she returned, the sceptre in her maw and laid it at Taff's feet. "I may not aiddd you againn... such affairs shoulld not be triffled with."
With this she was gone, leaving but a ripple behind as she moved back to the depths where her lair lurked.
Ryiah huddled within her cloak as best as possible, shivering slightly now, as if the inner warmth she'd possessed as a dragon now gone, left her extra cold. Her gaze still lay on Rufus yet she had heard Kendra's words. Of course... memories were returning more quickly now and she remembered the quest, and her desire to complete her father's wishes. She remembered cheeky roguish Calico Jack and his second, and the woman pirate who'd thrown her lot in with them. What a crazy adventure. Feeling ever more self contious she tried to pull her usual confidence back together, raising her chin to glance at Taff curiously, wondering what was passing between the serpent and the warlock.

"I am indebted to you, if harm ever befalls you or you need a helping hand, do call out my name" assured Taff waving at the sea serpent to watch her leave, returning to the princess presence respectfully
Taff then came closer to the princess, dropping a knee before her and presenting the retrieved item.
"Don't gaze upon the wounded, death's touch is upon him already" assured Taff grimly

Ryiah took the rod from Taff, eyes wide. "Is there nothing we can do for him?" She whispered, feeling as if the adventure had gone from bad to worse, out of her control.
She then lookes at the item in her hand, then back up at the cliff. "We are at the bottom still..." she murmered.

She sighed. "Yes, seems we've taken as many steps forward as we have back." She said glancing at Calico. "Poison is poison, there should be an antidote, normally a plant the beast sleeps by, isn't that how fairytales go?" She asked looking at Taff. "There's always something, isn't there?" In reality Kendra knew there was an antidote, although the name of it escaped her mind, as all important things seemed to do in times of trouble.
She avoided looking at the dying man as she cast her gaze back up to the cliff. "Meaning, we need to get back up, any bright ideas, Captain?" She called over her shoulder. "He is your first mate, so I'm sure you're just as happy to climb up the cliff as the rest of us?"
