Eight years after the Rise and fall of kira, the criminals of the world have been on the rise once more. Kiras killings have only gotten uneasy peace, but that uneasy peace perished as the crime rates increased by triple the amount they ever were, partially because of the grave wound Kira inflicted on the police of the world. More accurately, the crime rate has been increased by roughly three hundred percent since before kira's existence. In truth, all kira did in the end was tear everyone apart, and make the world worse, despite his so called “good” intentions. While the fall of L was a big blow, and eventually, it was revealed that L is dead to the public, L’s true successors are very alive, and all of them have left the orphanage. No one knows their true whereabouts, but they are out there, trying to solve things the right way- without any Death.

At least Four death notes have dropped to the human world and fell into the possession of a lucky.. Or maybe unlucky few who either got it by chance, or in kira's case, were chosen. Most people who pick up the note just kill one person and are done with it, but a few of them did not stop there. They have a powerful will- a will to take human lives. Either they are cursed or blessed, is completely up to them. Regardless, they have the most diabolical weapon known to mankind. A weapon that can kill hundreds.. No, thousands without a trace if used correctly. Its a tool for a god, it's the kind of weapon that could be used to shape the world with mass murder.

(Shinigami Light Plot)
When a human uses the death note, they don't just go to the void, they are forgotten. The name Light Yagami no longer exists anymore. Nor does Misa amane, or any others who have used the death note. Everyone who uses the note will feel the fear and pain of every single person they've killed, over and over. They are transported to the shinigami realm, and when they've gotten their punishment for using the note, they will be erased from existence permanently. However, If the user of the death note doesn't break down, they will have a chance of living again. Even if Light yagami did not deserve it, that is not the issue. He had a conversation with the shinigami king, and somehow convinced him for another chance at life. He is no longer a human, but a shinigami. He made a deal. In return, he is not allowed to use the note at all, or he will die.

Instead, he must give his notebook to another human, and make them kill criminals for him, so his dream will become a reality. In addition to this, he only has Six years to live once he drops the notebook into the human world. He can take his time choosing his successor because of this, but he cannot wait forever. When the time is right, he will pass his note down to the one who is worthy. Therefore, the stakes are the same as before. In the event his goal is achieved, there is a chance the shinigami king will let him use the death note freely, or even make him human again. This is light's ultimate goal, to be the god of his new world.
(Light is reserved for a friend. They will be coming by tomorrow or day after hopefully.)

(Other shinigami Plot)
The rise and fall of kira has slowly gained the interest of many shinigami, but none have actually gone through with dropping their notebook, out of fear of losing it for good.. However, a handful of shinigami including Light Yagami have gotten the courage to drop their notebooks to the human realm.

(Wammy house plot)
Having been raised in the wammy house, these kids were raised by special teachers which were hired by the government. However, they do not come by often. These kids are usually self taught, so their dependency is much larger than any normal kids. These kids are in this orphanage in the first place, because for one reason or another they have lost their parents, are homeless, and have proven to be insanely smart or have some very special skills that normal kids wouldn't have at such a young age. You must have a codename for your character if you decide on this plot. Such as L, N or M. It does not have to be a single letter, But it can't be your character's real name.


(Near Plot)
At this time, Nate River is now 21 years old, and he is still working as a detective. The kira case has motivated him to keep on working as a detective, stopping criminals like L has. Not much to say about him, If you've seen the anime or read the manga you'll know how to play him.
(However, i want to have him killed off either early, or midway- before he can share any information about the death note. Simply because he knows too much about the death note. It would be no fun to already have most of the case solved just like that, i would rather start from scratch. I would like someone to play him as a secondary main. If you play him, you can have another main to take his place if you desire. Either way, i need someone to play him.)

(Death Note Carrier Plot)
You are Someone who picked up the death note.
You may be with kira or against him/her, depending on your preference. However, you must Not all be kira followers. You may be using the death note to purge the world of evil like kira, or perhaps your sense of evil is aimed toward the police, so you go the anarchist route. You might just kill a certain type of person, like maybe because of racism or you think everyone with blonde hair and blue eyes are evil. It does not have to be a complex reason. You might just be a sadistic killer. The options are endless. But please be consistent in what kind of character you want to betray. Either way- You must be consistent in how you kill, or there is no progression. Also i will only accept one person to be a kira follower, as i really want to explore different ways One would want to kill, other then the kira route.
(Not including the new kira, i would like 3-5 death note carriers. If you're a death note carrier, you must put down if you're with kira or not with him. Just put down that they are a sadistic killer or a anarchist, for example. You do not have to go into detail. I just don't want people being all the same.)

(Kira Plot)
For one reason or another, you have been chosen by Kira.
You must be very intelligent to his standards, Either you're the top of the class or you're just a natural genius one way or another. But most importantly, you must have the same general sense of justice kira had. You must have the will, courage, and the mind to take lives.
To be the new kira.

//All characters besides Near and Light will be Ocs, and if you want to be either of those characters you must prove to me you know those characters in some way. You can tell me a fact about them only someone that liked them would know, or just send me a character introduction of them via pm or just on here and i'll tell you if it's acceptable. Also, the cannon characters do not have to be strictly cannon. For example, near does not have to be a cheat and light does not have to be super evil. You just have to stay true to thier character in a reletive sense, having a genderbent version is tottally fine as well. (And since i already have a light, this only applies to near)

Also, you should know that i literally just joined this site the other day, so i have no idea if death note roleplay will do any good, or if fandom roleplays are even allowed. I think they are. The only reason why i came to this site was because i heard people were literate here, i hope that person was right.

Anyways, all we need is a few people playing the death note carriers and a few detectives and we are good- it does not need to be one of the plot points above. You do not have to be from the orphanage to be a detective, you may be an fbi agent or even a student if you really want to. However, if i sense that you put zero thought into your character i probably just won't accept it. You must have put at least a little bit of thought into it. I've put a lot of thought into this, and i hope i had put enough thought into this, so i expect you to do the same.
But now, i would like to put down a few rules.

1. Literate! Four FULL sentences at the very least! This is not asking very much!
(Minor spelling Mistakes will be excused, Just try your best!)

2. Please be Respectful! Dont be that guy!

3. No being overpowered. No mary sues. This applies to mind games as well, even L has a weakness.

4. I will put a reply order! Follow it, pretty please.

5. There will be time-skips sometimes, but ill be the one to transition them Most of the time.

6. Please, one reply per a day or two at the very least when we start. If you'll be gone, PLEASE notify me. If you don't, your character will be killed off or sent away from the story.

7. Up to TWO Main characters are allowed per person. However, you are always allowed to play a few side characters. Just tell me which ones and when.

8. Your character might die. If you slip up and get caught or one of the death note holders finds your name out, that's you're own loss. Don't be a little bitch.

9. No controlling other people's characters, auto hitting, any kind of meta, or breaking the fourth wall. Seriously. The universe will fall apart and everything will be nothing.

Alright, thats cool. Damien dread? can you link me to both of which you choose? You can have the shinigami as a secondary character, since they are sort of in the backround, while still being sort of important to the story.

Hello. A pleasure to greet everyone.

Finally, the Death Note RP is up! I can't wait to get started. As stated by my friend, I am her Light Yagami. Therefore, it's a pleasure to join as a Shinigami. As you guessed, It will be Light 'Shinigami' Yagami. I hope we get along and have a good time together.
