I'd prefer it to have a bit of romance in it, but that's not a requirement.(Aspen has more attraction to males, but he can get romantically involved with females as well) I was thinking perhaps a scientist found him and had to decide whether to turn him in and possibly endanger him, or to hide and help Aspen.
