About 8 years ago real life got the better of me and I drifted away from online RP. Prior to that I had been playing frequently for several years. Recently I have been re-reading some of my old stuff and I realize I have missed my free form RP days and the people I played with.
I used to frequent chat rooms, but having re-registered at all the old haunts I'm not finding the same people (amazing what 8 years will change), or even the same type of play that I was used to.
So I've been wandering the web in search of a good game, some good writing, etc.
I'm a multi-paragraph poster who likes to develop characters, but often happily within the story lines of others. I've played fantasy, modern, modern fantasy, comic book universe based stuff, historical, just about anything.
I've never done forum based RP before, and am still really hoping to find live chat RP, but I'm sure I can adapt. Either way we shall see if this is the place I guess!

I also just came back from a long hiatus missing the life of RP and character creation. Glad to have another person back from the pull of normal life.

There's alot of options to choose from here, so you shouldn't get bored too quickly, and everyone is accepting of most characters. And with the experience you have, maybe you should think about creating your own story lines and settings?
Also, if you're interested, there's many groups inside the site that make RPs using Skype and other sources. In other words you can go back to live chats while still working with people on the site at the same time.
