Pirates in this world operate by a strict moral code, represented by a series of laws and rights set forth by elder pirates. As to keep them from falling into the idiotic savagery they had previously to the establishing of them.
AN EXCERPT FROM THE TEACH ARTICLES, SHARED BY HENRY MORGAN'S CODE OF PIRACY.

The laws of piracy in this world are as fallows.

In accordance with the will and wishes of the many, we as pirates are free to sack cities and islands as we please in search of gold and gem.

However if another pirate has laid claim to the island
And surrounding cities prior to the attack, you must either pay him a fee within equal amount to that which you stole, or defeat said pirate in combat via swordplay.

We are also not to harm or enslave those who cannot fight, be it women, children, or the elderly.
Should this law be broken, the penalty will be decided by either the nobel lord of the island. Or the pirate currently occupying the region itself.
( this law however only applies if they are not able to fight, carry weponry, or are preoccupied by illness. Otherwise your free to kill as you wish.)

If a pirate with a regional island claim is defeated in battle, his land automatically belongs to the one that had defeated him. Refusal to hand the lands over is punishable by walking the plank in open seas.

If a pirates vessel, and/or crew is rescued by an individual or another group. That vessel and crew thereby belong to said individual/group until which time a debt has been paid by the captain of the vessel.

Any debts owed to another captain, must be payed in full. In any way the other captain desires, regardless of formal status and higharchy.

WHEN ENGAGING IN SLAVE TRADE

Though pirates are heavily advised to not engage in the active slave trade, there are a few important things to note.

1. Once a slave is captured, the pirate is to have them medically examined for any illnesses that may effect their productivity. If any are found, the pirate is required to lower the price of said slave in accordance of the severity of said illness.
Failure to do so is punishable by loss of funds in which the new owner of the slave is to be paid a full refund by the pirate in question.

2. Slaves may regain their freedom in two ways. Either they must defeat their captive/master in single combat. Or they may work of their debt with 5 years worth of hard labor in service of said master

3. Once a slave is free, their former captors/master. Must provide them with temporary lodging until such time as they can manage on their own.

4. If slaves are commandeered illegally with the use of another pirates vessel/equipment. The slave legally belongs to the pirate whom owns said vessel/equipment.
If I need to explain anything else, please tell me.

I am happy with this let me bring it into IC
That was a headache to come up with.
Ok I should prewarn you, while the majority of people on Oceanus are primarily human. There are other races existent on it, they usually come from certain types of islands that best suit them. While still common, it's rare to see one of these other races outside their various home islands and island chains.
Thank you very much for the plot! We arnt trying to give you a migrane, we just were unaware that you had a set plot in your head already. ^_^

Are their any special weapons that use gems? For I assume that I get to have a bit of a sea battle with Morgans ships and acting as a decoy. If not I was just going to use conventional Cannons. But I would like to explore the unique opratunites the RP has with gems.

Good question... Blackbeard is about to drag Alex into a battle, would be good to know what tools to hand besides raiding and plundering the ship on conventional techniques (swords, cannons, pistols, etc)
Good question, weapons do exist that contain Gem. Though the type of effect depends on the compatibility of the weapon type. For instance, a cannon imbedded with a red Gem will double the fire power of the cannon and ignite whatever the ammo Is into flames burning a hole clear through the enemy.
While a canon imbedded with white Gem will cause you to start shooting snowballs.

Though I must stress that to find weapons like this is rare because they are extremely hard to make.
Only few people in the world of Oceanus know how to craft with Gem. Antony only has so many because he knows only one of those people.

If you manage to find one in the market, good luck buying it. Because it will quite literally be the most expensive thing there aside from another entire ship.
Alrighty them swords, and blackpoweder typed weapons it is then haha!
Ok...anyone else annoyed by the new ooc system?
Do you want me to explain the chimera race as a whole so you can understand this character and why he's here?
Yes please do give us more juicy details!
Also I havent made a new OC so no idea bout the new system flaws
Oh also are there other races out there besides humans and Chimera's?
I have one other in mind currently, but that one will be more important much later on.

And what is a chimera in this storyline and what does it do? strengths and weaknesses help
AN EXCERPT FROM CAPTAIN ANTONIE'S TRAVEL LOUG AND CREATURE COMPANION(pocket sized edition)

amongst the southern islands, rich in spices, and rum. There lay a few islands where you will find the sea transforming from a murky grey. To a brilliant sapphire blue, so clear you can see the sea floor. On these traditionally warm tropical islands live all manner of creatures, colourful birds, and plants. However, the creature I found most fascinating was the rarely seen chimera. A strange race of people with odd animal like features. I was one of a rare few outsiders to be able to study this strange culture and people as I lived here...

APPEARENCE

As I see it,though this is but one village, the chimera come in two destinct forms( that being feline, and canine).though mostly human they have a few significant differences in appearance. Traditionally they are born with triangular animal ears a top their head rather than human ears. They also over time grow tails, which get longer as they age(though require persistent trimming ) the reason for which I'll touch on in a later entry.

Besides these glaringly obvious features, they are also naturally born with sharper canines than most humans(I hypothesis they use to tear into their meat seeing as they are primarily carnivores.)
Otherwise, it is rare for them to be born with eyes that are the same colour, some even going so far as to call it a taboo.
GOVERNENT

The strange thing about this people is that they often self govern. Though a tribal people, they have a well established government I will refer to as a democratic monarchy.

An odd system in which they will often have a line of kings ruling each village from father to son.
Though if the people feel strongly enough about it, they can call for a vote of no confidence, once they do the only way for a dynasty to remain in power is to regain the trust of the people by the time of the cold months (winter). If they succeed in this endeavor they remain on the throne. Otherwise, a new line is brought to the throne. All remnants of the previous one are locked away until such a day that that a descendant of that line is elected to the throne.
SOCIETY

Remember that thing about the tails from earlier, yeah now I'm about to explain that to you along with a few other things. You see every male in the society is expected to start growing their tail out by the age of ten. It is a strange ritual that is meant to attract females. It is believed that the longer a tail is, the more children your mate will bear in the near future.

I use the word 'mate' in the place of wife or lover. You see while marriage to us is binding ourselves legally and physically to a person. To them mating is the binding of two souls, the mixing of life forces, the combination of thoughts, hopes, and dreams.

In their society it is believed that their soul is connected in this way to only one other living being. Once these beings meet, they do become rather possessive and often irrational(especially the males). They are very much monogamous in that they physically can not love anyone but their destined lover, and vice versa. Their union is usually signified by a bite mark left by the male on the female, this mark is left usually on any place connected to a major vein or arterie. Usually the junction of the neck and shoulder, sometimes the hand.

On another topic, another strange thing about society amongst them is that both genders are taught how to hunt, fish, and other things most societies would deem male oriented.

Though they have no semblance of agriculture, due to the fact they can survive off of meat products alone due to their unusual appetites. They thrive in the spice trade industry thanks to certain plants in the local rainforest.
They survive mostly on fishing and hunting(but I've already covered that.)

they have no semblance of clothing, making interactions with them quite awkward mind you.
And see their lack of dress as the norm(just don't look at a mated female/male the wrong way. You only make that mistake once).
SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Apparently some physical attributes depend on type, for instance. While the canine chimera has unprecedented amounts of upper body strength, the feline chimera are fleet footed and able to move quickly. They are also one of the few races in existence with the ability to forge weapons containing Gem without getting themselves killed as they are part animal and more naturally attuned to the natural world, thus allowing them to connect with the gen itself.
If you want me to discuss religion as well, let me know.
I could also explain their recent change in currency, converting from their standard gold coins to the international monetary system of clear Gem. And also their multiple cultural festivals.

Also if you want the backstory of how this character met captain Antony just ask.
The story of how he came to be with Antony would be cool! Also I can see you put a whole lot of effort into creating this race! And I find it quite awesome!
