That's how all the windows were in the large town built on top of the massive stone archway in the middle if the forest. The many automatons in the city and their constant steam made it nearly impossible to see out any windows, especially in the winter and so there were no vehicles in the whole city other than those of the two wheeled variety or airships, which were constantly taking off and docking at the ports on either side of the mile high, natural arch.
No one really knew how it got there, but the arch itself was beautiful. It was about five miles long, two miles wide and a mile high. It was about 80 feet thick of solid stone and despite the amount of steam created by the automatons an motorcycles, there was always a beautiful view of the pine forest below, which was ripe with game.
On this particular day, David was standing silently beneath a tree, moving quietly forwards. He was wearing his typical green shirt and khaki shorts and as always had his quiver around his back and bandolier full of throwing knives and axes around his chest.
His bare feet made no noise as he moved towards the lone stag in the forest. This was no ordinary stag though, although no one could tell until it opened it's mouth to reveal sharp teeth, or if anyone saw what it was eating, which was a human.
David moved as silently as an owl, a silver tipped arrow drawn back, his willow wood bow bending back significantly.
The demonic stag looked up, sensing the wolf gijinka's presence and let out a long, low growl, something similar to that of a large cat. David released the arrow, but the animal disappeared into thin air before the arrow could make contact and it stuck into a tree.
"Well damn..." David muttered and went to fetch his arrow.

off in the distance the sound of the stag being injured echoed through the forest and a small child like voice followed , it seemed to be speaking in a weird language " ham na dor na gata ne" the voice sounded harmonious and suddenly all noises in the forest seased except for the voice almost as if the forest itself was trying to listen
And what a beautiful voice it was. David just stood there for a moment, his hand on the shaft of the arrow, listening. He shook his head after a few seconds to clear his thoughts and pulled the arrow out of the tree, his ears twitching and tail deporting from side to side as he listened.
The wolf boy followed the sound, his bare feet not making a single sound as he approached the owner of the voice and then saw the wounded stag.
"Hello," he said quietly, staring in awe at the voice's owner, a beautiful young girl.

the girl stopped singing and a pair of gold eyes emediantly locked with his , hate growing in them " who are you" the girl kept her hand on the arrow that was in the chest of the stag the other stroking him gently as he breathed deeply, dieing
"David," he gulped a bit an took a stepback, "I, um, I heard you singing or... Whatever that was... Uh, you have a beautiful voice," he said nervously.
The stag suddenly stood, it's antlers growing spiked and sharp, baring it's long, demonic teeth at the girl, it's eyes becoming blood shot, the arrow seemingly having done nothing and it took a snap at her but before it could, there was a throwing axe between its eyes and it collapsed, really dead now.
"Finally. Stupid demon has been killing hunters for weeks," he let out a soft sigh and moved to retrieve his axe.

the girl stood real fury in her eyes now " why did you kill it , he would not have hurt me , he was going to remove this for me " the girl pulls up her long kimon o sleeve revealling a large piece of metal in her arm , "only a demon stag can remove it , and you just killed the only one with in a mile " she then began to yell at the man in her other language
David froze and let out a small whimper, "I-I'm sorry... I didn't know... But why can't anyone remove it? It's just a piece of metal right?" he forgot about his axe and dug around in his bag, quickly pulling out a first aid kit. "look, I've got pliers and stitches and pain killers. Anything you might need," he offered with a voice as kind as he could manage.
the girl sighed " its a very specil type of metal , it comes from the blade of a cleaner , and only the teeth of a demon can touch the blade " she clenched her teeth tightly struggling through her anger o talk " and the only demon wioth teeth strong enough to pull out this big a piece is the teeth of a demon stag " she sighed ounce more and began to walk away from the man , she wasnt to far away when she turned into a hawk and clumsily flew away with her injured wing(arm)
"What the?!" David watched in awe before running after her, "Wait! Come back! Let me try to help you!" he pleaded.
after a short while the hawk landed on a branch and turned back into the girl she now had a bow in her hand and an arrow pointed straight at a demon stag , she fired piercing the stag through the chest , but yet not killing it
It wasn't too hard for him to follow, with his wolf-like sense of smell and all but this time he watched for a distance, wanting to see what she did to make these creatures, which killed and ate humans, so calm.
she jumped from the tree and calmly walked to the stag she got to her knees in front of it and bent over and said something inits ears she grabbed the arrow and began to stroke the stag near the wound " thank you ,i promise the pain will dissapear" she pulled away from the stag and sang "ham na dor na gata ne" the stag for some reason seemed to calm down , it slowly stood as she removed the arrow from its body , she then pulled up her sleeve and the stag bit and pulled out the piece of metal , " thank you now rest" she laid the stag back down and let it fall asleep before wrapping its wounds
"You realize it's only going to start killing people again, right?" David said quietly, tossing an axe skillfully up an down in one hand, leaning against a tree.
erin glanced at the man " like i care what he does to you humans " she stood up and gracefully walked past him , " all i care is i can fly again"
"Do I look human to you?" the 16 year old raised an eyebrow, "I've got a wolf tail and ears. I'm anything but. I'm not an anthro or... A weirdly beautiful bird such as yourself, but I'm no human," he said and rested a gentle hand on her shoulder, putting his axe away as he did, "And you do actually have a beautiful voice."
erin shrugged his hand away , " i dont care what you are , all i know , is i dont like yuou already" she continued to walk
He frowned, "Why not? I didn't know about the stag and I'm sorry about that. Other than that I've only been trying to get you to like me..." he said sheepishly, "
erin , turned to face him a stern look on her face " i dont like beings other than animals and nature , and i dont mean half animals"
"Alright, understandable," he put his hands up defensively, "But why? I'm a nature person myself, but I don't have anything against people, particlarly pretty girls like yourself," he was doing everything he could to get on her good side, "but I'd still rather be out here in my free time than up there in the city," he pointed straight up to the massive stone archway, "But I live there and it's my home."
" i dont care , you can stay in this forest , live here i dont care , just stay away from my home" she turned back away and continued to walk
