When you start to lose interest in a roleplay?

Do you offer a twist in plots? Discuss it out OOC? Do you drop the roleplay altogether?

Alternatively, have you ever had the issue where it is only you and one other person roleplaying? As in, you're stuck roleplaying (perhaps by accident) with only one person and no one else? (At least on that one character?) I ask because I've had times where I've had one character get wound up in roleplay with someone else and then realizing that we've somehow managed to block everyone else out!
Hm... I have been both the one to kill roleplay and the one to experience it die by the hands of others.

However most of those instances were one-on-one and things simply got too dull and boring to carry on. Usually we just dropped it, maybe with a little discussion as to what could have happened/might happen afterwards. Very rarely did plot twists come up.

Personally I try not to get too worked up over excluding others these days-- I TRY not to do it OoCly, but let's look at it like this:
My character is in a bar, where they've struck up conversation with one or two other people. If someone comes up and joins into the conversation, my character is going to acknowledge them. However my character, as one does in real life, will not acknowledge or look at every person who walks through the door.

Really it kind of depends on the situation. If you're excluding anyone who is legitimately trying to join a public rp, try to avoid that. If it's private and you've made this clear, then they should've asked first. If it is merely something that is bound to happen IC, don't sweat it.

On the reverse side, if your character starts to leave and someone's making an effort to pull you in as opposed to blocking you out, it's courteous to at least humor their attempts (even if it's just "Oh hi, sorry, but I've got to head out" icly) or tell them OoCly that you can't stick around.

For the first question, a combination of the two. If it looks like the RP is running out of steam, I'll discuss it with the other people involved, if they want to continue but I'm not sure it's going to get better, I'd find a way to leave.

And I've had that happen too (not counting roleplays that started with just one other person), there have been times were two of us get so into it we just leave everyone behind.
I've been there and quite recently. I try to spin a different twist to allow for my character to branch off in a different direction. If they ever interact with the other again would only be a bonus for more interesting plots.

I've used the Plottwist generator a couple of times. If a serious RP ever runs out of steam, this can kick it right back up!

Or you can do an entire roleplay based on the hilarious outcomes just to blow off some steam and get your muse going again. :P
I hardly ever drop roleplays. I mainly do onexone's myself, and always discuss ideas with my partner, or throw in some plot-twists.
Or sometimes, instead of dropping it, finish the story we were doing, then throw in an entirely new idea continuing on from it.

I'll have to tinker with that link. I've come across many a good idea to toss into play.

This, generally. I hate to say it, but I'm picky with group RPs. But while there are RPs I have not done for a while due to perhaps having no motivation to RP them, that is not to say that the storyline has stopped. Pulchra, for example, I have not rped in about 4 or so months. BUT, she is 3 months pregnant, and living at her villa with Vethos, Nasica and her nephew Corvinus, as well as Yelizaveta. If someone asked me what she was doing, I could answer without having to stop and really think.

I normally do group RPs, but that's the nature of Siena's character as well as her job. Plus I love bringing a bunch of people into a situation as they might in real life.
However, what I meant about getting swept up in one on one RPs, where you end up only roleplaying with one other person and your character's stories get so wound up that you end up only being able to RP with each other. It feels very limiting, how can your character develop when you're only ever RPing with one other person/character?

I'm finally, after roleplaying on Furcadia for 10 years, able to talk it out OOCly with the person. I've had some experiences in the past where when I try to discuss it OOCly it just goes down hill. But on the other hand, I don't want to be rude and just.. log off whenever I see that person around.
I start looking for a 'catalyst' so to speak, what could be a major thing, or maybe a few things that could happen.. who can I get involved with? I feel incredibly stifled when I only roleplay with one other person (even if that other person plays multiple characters with me.)
