I started an RP a while ago with Yeun, my Spirit guide. She sees the souls of those who died and helps them move on to the Hereafter if they have unfinished business of any sort. During the day she is bound in flesh as a human being without powers, although she still sees and talks to the dead. At night she changes and does what she exists for.
She should be interesting in nearly any setting. She uses a portal to go where she is needed and is versatile in both time and place settings. Plots can vary: does your character have somebody who passed on who might need her help? Does your character find out what she is and maybe helps to protect her during the day?

What would Yeun do if a spirit she guided on was alive the next day? How about Arthur and Yeun?

How about a 'thing' who's only business in this world is to find a new body for itself? Of course it has to figure out that's what it wants, instead of killing things. Ainsel would be the character I have in mind.

I'm not 100% certain I understand the character. Yeun can only see the souls of dead people and sometimes animals strongly connected to those people, and only really helps those. She could interact with Ainsel, probably if Ainsel has a host, but I'm not certain how they would work together.
Ainsel is very difficult to explain character, which is partly why the page is a mess. It doesn't understand the physical world and its working anymore so it doesn't know what it wants from it. Before becoming what it is now it only had business with death which is why it has a tendency of killing its hosts when it can't get what it wants from them.
How they would work, Ainsel could either be a villain to her or she could decide to try to steer it to a less violent and dark path than what I had thought of for it originally.
Also normal humans can see Ainsel too, it's just they don't usually pay attention to shadows that are out of place.
