Heavy footsteps were heard, banging against the concrete floors of the streets. The light was just as much an enemy as the darkness. The darkness was looming over the city as the street lamps passed Shawn by as he ran by them looking back once or twice. "SOMEBODY PLEASE!...HELP!" what was he running from, there was no one chasing him... Or was there. The Slenderman, a myth... A monster, a stalker. He was all of these yet non of these, his presence is unknown. He freezes when you look at him but when you look away you better run.

His tall thin figure was the reason for why people were scared of him. His face... His face was blank, no eyes, nose or mouth, yet if recorded or taped you can hear him speak... His deep demonic voice sends chills down spines and for some, sleepless nights. He wears a black suit with a red tie and white shirt. There was no where to run because he always catches you. His extra limbs or tentacles as some say sprout from his back.

Hekate was walking out of a building when she heard someone yelling for help. Her sky blue eyes searched the streets around her as the wind blew her earth-colored hair behind her, her hair long enough to reach the middle of her back. She began to walk down the sidewalk but kept her guard up, waiting for something to happen.

Shawn sped around a corner, he saw Hakate "RUN! HE'LL GET YOU, HE NEVER DIES" his eyes wide open looking over his shoulder something terrified this man, and the Slender man was a being to be afraid of. He stopped opposite her before grabbing her arm and pulling her with him. There was an abandoned mental hospital around the corner so he ran in. "h-he's after me! And now you!" there was truth in his madness.

When Shawn was able to catch his breath the hairs on his back stood up. Hatake was stood opposite him so she was able to see out the small windows in the entrance doors. "he's there isn't he" Hatake's eyes widened when she looked over his shoulder... There he stood, in the middle of the street... a silhouette of a tall thin man, she was able to his face when she squinted a little... It wasn't even a face, it was blank.

Hekate swallowed when she saw the silhouette." T-tell me that's not what I think it is." She had heard stories about the Slender Man but she thought they were just stories." Is t-there a reason he's c-chasing you?"

"Stop looking, he'll take you! if you stare at it for too long there would be no saving you!" he moved her out of his line of sight then looked to see if he was there, he was gone. "if you know about the Slender man then he will kill you, there wasn't another reason..." Shawn looked at where he was, then got a strange vibe telling him that he made a mistake entering the asylum "we need to leave!" he turned to open the door, there was a note stuck on it. 'No Where To Hide' it said, a chill went down his spine as he felt the air slowly become cold "no!... Not the letters!" he turned and grabbed her arm pulling her close making sure she was safe.

This asylum, will be theirs graves. Shawn pulled out a tape recorder "the only way to know what he says"

Hekate felt uncomfortable being so close to Shawn but she knew it was so he could make sure she was safe. She stayed silent so the tape recorder would only pick up the Slender Man's voice.

Shawn recorded what was going on, there was pure silence except the odd patter of rats once or twice. He stopped recording then looked at her "when I press play there is no doudbt in my mind he'll say something. We need to survive, and the only way to do that is take these notes and find all 8 of them" he pressed play... There was pure silence for a few seconds, only two sets of breathing... It started to crackle for a few seconds...
"you are only denying the inevitable, this asylum you both are in... Will be your graves. There is no where to run... No where to hide, I. Will. Find. You" it started to crackle again then stop.

Hekate shivered slightly. When her father told her stories of the Slender Man, she would have nightmares for days." I-is there some way to keep him at bay until we find all the notes?" She was shaking slightly but forced herself to stop after a few seconds.

"no, he is right... There is no where to hide, all we do is run" he pulled out a flash light from his pocket, it was small and wasn't very good but it did the trick. He clicked the button on the flash light and looked forward...
There he was, the dark figure in the darkness half hidden from a corner. His blank face just looking at them... He didn't move, he was like a statue... A weeping angel

"good god... RUN NOW!" Shawn shouted "WHATEVER YOU DO DON'T LOOK BACK, IM RIGHT BEHIND YOU... So is he"

Hekate took off running, heeding what Shawn had told her. She wanted to stop and look at Shawn to see if he was really behind her, but she forced herself not to.

Shawn followed after her, he quickly looked over his shoulder and saw the Slender Man, stood in the middle of the corridor they were running down "WE NEED TO FIND A NOTE!" his voice showed his fear.

He ran up besides Hekate and slowed down when he saw the Slender Man gone. He turned around to scan hi surroundings... There was no sign of him. "it's okay for now..." he held her hand "if we're going to get through this then we need to work together"

He slowly made his way down the corridor, taking small quiet steps. He wanted to keep her safe for whatever time she had left

Hekate followed Shawn, making sure her own steps didn't make a sound."H-how long has he been chasing you?" She asked Shawn in a small voice.

Shawn hesitated when a few rat ran past them, the whole building was damp and filthy, a horrid stench of dead rats filled the air. "a few days now, at first he didn't chase me but now... I'm being haunted" he shook his head and carried on.

They came up to a laundry room, their were baskets and old clothes lying all over the place. He turned to look at her "each note we find... He will become more aggressive and pop up a lot. I don't know if we will survive even of we do find all these notes" Shawn dark green eyes showed guilt "I wish you'd never shown up on that street when you did"

Hekate met Shawn's eyes with her own sky blue eyes." Well, what's done is done. You can't turn back time." She closed her eyes for a few seconds before opening them to look at Shawn." I was out on the streets because Fate made it so. There is a reason for everything."

"fate? I don't believe in it..." just as he finished what he was saying a door fell from the frame and landed with a bang. Shawn's heart skipped. He turned to see if Slender Man was there, Shawn quickly shun the dim light in that direction, thank fully he wasn't there.

"Damn you slendy..." he slowly approached the room "stay with me"

Hekate stayed behind Shawn, keeping her guard up. Her eyes scanned their surroundings.

Slenderman was about, lurking in the shadows. Shawn and Hakate were in a patient room... 2 words word written over and over again on the walls 'it's here...' the thought of who the patient was talking about gave him chills there was a hole in the wall leading to the next room, above the hole was another note 'It Watches... No Eyes'.

The rats in the room were no longer there... Shawn was afraid to look back, he knew the tall stalker was watching them... Standing in the doorway.

Hekate looked at the writing on the walls, shivering slightly." S-Shawn? I really think we should get out of here." She whispered.

The hairs on his back stood up, he felt it... Stood there. Shawn slowly looked at the doorframe, his eyes knew what they were seeing. The thin suited man stared at them, stood in the doorway. Shawn kept his eyes on the Slender Man and quickly moved Hakate in the direction of the hole also. Shawn's eyes slowly started to blur which meant if he stared any longer he'd be taken.

Once she was through he dived straight in after her just about making it, he scrabbled up onto his feet backing up onto a wall... Slender Man was there, stood at the other end of the hole from where they came from... The only visible part of him was his shins and black leather shoes. He was stood there like a statue... Creepy but quiet.:.

Hekate swallowed, goosebumps rising on her arms as she kept her gaze away from the hole. She closed her eyes after a few moments then opened them to look at Shawn." Y-You o-okay?" She whispered.
