This forum topic is for Bade Ulf and Zalia to RP on.
Bade you get to go first.
Bade you get to go first.
(Just a heads up, I have 2 hours of time to do this like.. quickly, but after 8pm where I am I'm out of work and therefore not going to be able to post back quickly )
Bade sat in a pile of gravel, a coffee mug in hand, a newspaper in the other. He was currently at a construction site where he was needed for a lumber consultation. However, he had finished his talks with the conveyor early and he was just killing time now. The spring sun was warm and he was bored, so he had made an unlikely seat out of the gravel to waste some time. He flipped through the newspaper without really looking at all; the goings-on of normal humans was mundane and therefor uninteresting in comparison with the lupine world.
"This is all crap." He unceremoniously tossed the coffee and the paper into the nearest trash and sauntered out of the sectioned off piece of city. He wore an open flannel shirt today with a wife beater underneath and his customary blue jeans and work boots. He gave a large yawn as well as a stretch as he made his way down the sidewalk.

(Okay. So sorry I got distracted AGAIN. I promise I'll pay more attention now)
Zalia was walking as well, though with a bit more of a purpose than Bade. Getting away from bullies. She was glancing over her shoulder just as she turned the corner of the sidewalk, and ended up running right into the lumberjack! "Oof!" She fell onto her butt, blinking in surprise.
She looked up at who she had run into. "O-oh, I'm sorry!" She scrambled quickly to her feet, brushing herself off. There was nothing special about her. Long mahogony hair, green eyes, and simple clothes; a pair of black pants, a brown button-up blouse with the top few buttons undone, and a white camisole underneath. "I'm so sorry, that was totally my fault." She glanced over her shoulder again nervously.

Bade watched the girl fumble over herself and a cool grin spread across his lips. "Not a problem, kid." He leaned forward and brushed off her shoulder. As a large man this gesture may come across as imposing. "You missed some." His teeth glittered between his lips and if one took notice, they might see they were sharper than perhaps they should have been. The wolf leaned back and cocked a hand on his hip. "Why in such a rush in such a nice day?"
Zalia shrunk back slightly when he brushed off her shoulder. Imposing, he certainly was. And Zalia wasn't that well with people to begin with. "O-oh. Thank you." She did see his teeth, taking notice easily because she was used to such things. Her own weren't noticable until she had the rare lust for blood. "I uhm...I was just walking." she lied, glancing back over her shoulder. She preferred not to be seen by the bullies again. Being bullied at her age was rather shameful, but Zalia did act more towards seventeen or eighteen by her shy, unassuming nature. She cleared her throat slightly and glanced at him. He was blocking her escape path.
"You seem upset..." His nose twitched. He found something interesting in the air around her and took a large snuff of oxygen. Cocking his head to the side he could hear the rush of feet around the corner while he was trying figure out that smell. Of course he scented her agitation and maybe some fear around her, but this was something more... acrid? He tried to get a better sniff but the girl was trying to pace around him. "Are you in trouble, lady?" His jovial mood darkened somewhat at the thought of a woman in distress, but his thoughts were broken off by people rounding the corner.
Zalia tried to be oblivious. "What? No, no I'm not...I just uhm, I just was worried that I hurt you when I ran into you." Hurt him? This large man? That was practically impossible. She heard the feet as well, and saw them coming towards her. She didn't even answer his question, she just rushed around him, hiding behind the strong lumberjack. The group of bullies rounded the corner, only to come face to face with Bade.
Zalia peeked out from behind him and they glared at her, causing her to hide again.

Bade bellowed a bark of laughter at the thought of this fragile girl hurting him. But now she was hiding behind him and the laughter had died. He took a moment to assess the situation, looking behind him and then at the "bullies". And then it clicked. He made himself stand to his full height, chest puffed out and in his most threatening human tone he asked, "Do you gentlemen have a problem?"
Zalia knew she'd never be able to hurt this man. He was so large and strong after all. She just hoped the others had the same feelings about the man as she did; he was untouchable.
For a moment, the bullies frowned. They looked almost like a gang, so it was no surprise they were harassing her. "Not with you, with her!" one said boldly. "So just let us talk to the lady and everything'll be fine. It's none of your business, man!"
Zalia's hand clutched at the back of Bade's shirt, a silent plea for him not to oblige them.

He was used to people standing down to him, being the Alpha's son and all so he was a little put off when they wouldn't back off. However, he felt obligated to do something as Zalia's hand trembled against him. "I'm not going to buzz off and let you thugs have your way with my girlfriend." He threw the lie out there as insurance; he figured if these idiots thought he was emotionally attached the to woman they might get the hint that he wasn't going to give up easily. "Now go away, or I will make you." His face split in a wolfish grin.
Zalia blinked in surprise and looked up, staring at the back of Bade's head. His WHAT?! Good thing those thugs couldn't see her face. They did seem taken back by what he said. At that grin though, the deal was sealed. The smarter ones shooed the others off. "Fine, whatever.." was their pathetic excuse.
When they were gone, Zalia stepped back from him immediately. "U-uhm....thank you..." She shyly cast her gaze down, a bit too embarassed to look at him.
(Afk suppertime!)

Bade turned and offered a lopsided grin. "Not a problem, ma'am." Both hands rested confidently on his hips now and he fixed her with a look, turning on the charm. He could tell the girl was still uncomfortable, but he couldn't help himself. Before he even asked her name, or why those men had been messing with her, he blurted: "Can I buy you a cup of coffee?"
Zalia stared at him. That was...strange. He was strange. She knew better than to get involved with strange men, but he had just saved her from those men so she felt that she owed him. "W-well...I guess some coffee would be nice." She offered a slight, hesitant little smile at him.
He was so odd. But that didn't mean he was bad.

Bade have a mental fist pump and a YES!, when outwardly he did nothing but smile and offer his elbow for her to take. This was so much better than going either back to work out in the yard or home where he would have to deal with his crazy family. This girl was nice and he was always on the prowl for new, more normal friends. But he was still bothered by her weird scent. Her apprehension was wearing off now and he was able to get a better whiff so he could sort through the layers. It was.. Oddly familiar, yet not.
"So, what is your name?"
"So, what is your name?"
Zalia took his elbow hesitantly and let him lead her to the coffee shop, still on her guard. Though she decided that if he tried to do anything to her she'd be completely powerless against him, so why try fighting it?
"Zalia. My name is Zalia. What's yours?" At least she could get the name of her rescuer. "Thank you again, for helping me. Most people wouldn't go out of their way to help a stranger." She smiled again at him, this time a little warmer. Bit by bit, she was relaxing. His kindness and his calm attitude was infectious.

"Bade Ulf, nice to meet you." He was all smiles taking his damsel to the nearest coffee house. He was not a frequent patron at this particular place, but he loved coffee and therefore was not opposed to trying new blends. "It wasn't a problem, helping a pretty girl like you." He flashed another grin and offered her a chair. He ordered the strongest stuff on the menu and let her decide her own poison. When the waitress had left he plunked both elbows on the table and cocked his head to the side. "Well, Zalia, what are you doing in this part of town? Do you work here?"
Zalia listened to his introduction. "It's nice to meet you too." She blushed as he complimented her, her cheeks turning pink and her eyes looking away shyly. She ordered her own coffee, something far less strong, and settled in her seat. "Ah, well, I was actually looking for work. I just moved into the area..." She cleared her throat a little and glanced around.
"What...what about you? Do you live here, or have a job near here?" She couldn't help but be curious about him.

((I have to go for a bit, sorry! Just letting you know so you won't expect a post right away))
He got comfortable. "Ah, well my family and friends have been established in this area probably before there was even a city here. So we go waaay back. And I help run the family business; we have a lumber yard just north of here. I'm only in the city right now finishing a transaction."
He received his drink and took a big gulp while it was piping hot. The longer he sat with her the more her discomfort abated and her normal scent hounded his senses. He felt he was so close yet he'd be thrown off right before getting it. "What kind of work do you do? If you..." He trailed off. It had hit him then; that scent. It threw him off because it was human, but it was also... Undead?

((No Problem, I'm on my way out too so we can pick it up like a normal forum rp, okay? ))
