He gratefully took the breakfast, but in a slower way of moving than usual. His wounds had healed almost over night, there were still some signs of his mauling, especially the deeper cuts. "I don't think I am going in today," he said sleepily. "I am a liiiiittle hung over." He offered her a sheepish grin and texted someone with his phone. "They'll understand."
He finished his meal and leaned back in his chair, rubbing a hand over his stomach. "That was good, thanks."

Zalia giggled at him. "A little hung over, huh?" She smiled and nodded, watching as he texted. "Yeah, I'm pretty sure they will." When he finished his meal she took away the plates and cleaned everything up. "I'm glad you liked it." She walked over and kissed his cheek. "You should go back to bed if you're staying home. You hardly got any sleep."
He shrugged in response. "I don't sleep very much when I've been drinking. So I will stay up." He leaned back into his seat and stretched his arms. "Unless you want to go back to sleep?"
Zalia smiled at him. "No, I'm fine. I don't mind staying up. It gives me more time to be with you." She blushed a little and ran her fingers idly through his hair. Suddenly she got a terrible feeling and her body locked up. She turned around quickly, her eyes darting around the room.
Nothing.
But she knew she had felt it. And she knew that feeling. Her legs grew weak and gave out from under her, sending her to her knees. She didn't feel good. Was he...here? No. He couldn't be. Zalia felt like throwing up. She didn't want it to be true at all.

"Zalia?" He asked as her fingers slid from his hair and she fell to the ground. He was on his feet hovering over her. When she didn't answer, he crouched beside her, feeling her forehead and calling her name. "Are you alright? What happened?"
Zalia snapped out of her thoughts and finally looked at Bade. Her mind raced. Should she tell him? No. No, not yet. She smiled pathetically at him. "Y-yeah...yeah I'm okay. I just got a little dizzy for some reason. I guess I stood up too fast." Sure it was a bit of a delayed reaction, but she hoped he would buy it. Just for now.
She didn't know if he was actually there. Her father. It could easily be her mind playing tricks on her. She didn't want Bade to start worrying. He had just gotten over one big obstacle, she wanted him to relax. She stood up and smiled at him. "See? I'm fine. Sorry, I didn't mean to worry you."

I twas entirely too late for not worrying. He had her picked up in his arms right after she finished speaking. "Come on. Let's go lie down for a little while if you're feeling dizzy." He carried her back to his room and laid her out on the bed. He wondered if something had happened to her while he was still out last night? Or, if there was something else effecting her; something he would be unfamiliar with.
"Are you... Do you... Did you feed?"
"Are you... Do you... Did you feed?"
Zalia smiled and pulled him down to kiss him. "Yeah. Yesterday, before the fight. I'm fine Bade, I promise. I heard it's normal for people to get dizzy sometimes when they get up." She tugged him down on top of her and kissed him agan. "See? Totally fine. Though carrying me around like a princess is very sweet of you."
She giggled, trying to get him to relax. She just wanted him to be happy and not fret. She stroked his cheek, her thumb rubbing along the hair around his chin. "I love you so much, Bade."

"I love you too," he said, his brows knitting together, his lips turning down. "But you're acting strange." He pulled himself off of her to sit by her side. "Like you're hiding something."
He watched her, his grey green eyes roving her face for any betrayal of her thoughts.

Zalia flinched when he called her out on her lie and she sighed, rolling over to nuzzle her face against his arm. "I just...I had a feeling. Back in the diningroom. I had a feeling I haven't had in a while. Like...like my dad was watching me." She shivered just thinking about it.
"I didn't want to tell you, because I didn't want you to worry. It was probably just my imagination, because my mind does that to me sometimes. You've just been through so much lately, I wanted you to have some time to relax, so I didn't want to bother you with my silly imagination."
She held his arm, her hand taking his and twining her fingers with his. "Please don't be mad..." She didn't want him to get upset at her for lying to him.

His expression hadn't cleared and in fact got more grim. He sat satring at her for a few more minutes before getting to his feet. He kissed her finger lightly before untangling his own. "I want to just check the apartment. For smells, something not looking right, to see if anythings open, you know." He went to the door and looked over his shoulder. "There has to be a reason you felt that way."
He left the room to search the house, he took long breathes through his nose to sift through the familiar and unfamiliar smells. He was looking for some signature that was resonant with Zalia's.

Zalia didn't want him to leave her alone, the girl whimpering softly like a child as he left the room. But she stayed where she was, just resting and waiting. At first, Bade would find nothing wrong at all. But a voice suddenly whispered through the air. "She's mine..."
For just a few moments, there would come the stench of vampire, and of course the feeling. The feeling of an incredibly powerful being of the night. But it was just for a moment, perhaps two. And then nothing.
Zalia came stumbling out of the room, running down the hall to grab onto Bade and start sobbing. "I...I closed my eyes for just a moment, and I saw him...!" She shivered against him and sniffled a little. "I'm scaring myself..." She was absolutely terrified of her father. She refused to believe he had come after her.

He embraced Zalia, but it was hardly loving. The wolf was on alert now; his human hackles raised, his eyes and ears and nose scouting the room. His entire body was tense waiting for something to attack or at least show itself. When nothing happened for a few minutes and the smells had cleared, the wolf relaxing, but infinitesimally. He walked her back to his room.
"Can't he not enter unless invited?" He was running through the vampire lore he did know, but he was unsure of the legends and facts.
(( You and I probably have a different idea of Vampires. I'm just saying because I'm like... a purist lol. In my vampire canon they wouldn't be able to reproduce at all, so Zalia would never exist. But I don't believe in pushing my ideas, so I'm saying anything against her. But I'm not sure what rules your vamps operate through.))

Zalia sighed softly. "I don't know. I'm not sure. I don't even think he was in here. He just has...powers. Abilities. It makes him stronger than the rest, different from them. I don't know how he got them. But he's not like the other vampires we used to live with." She bit her lip a little and hugged him. "It scares me."
She didn't know what to do. This was bad. Why would he be here after all this time? She rubbed her face and just held onto Bade. "I'm sorry. This is all my fault. I should leave for a while. Just a bit, and then I'll come back. If I don't, I know he'll make your life a living hell..."
((Well, Zalia herself obviously isn't the normal kinda dhampir. xD But as for her father, I've never had him like normal vampires. He has sort of mystic powers with it. I need a backstory for him, I'll probably make it sometime...like back long ago, 'cause he's old, he made a deal with a witch or something like that..xD))

"If you leave, he will hurt you. That I'm sure of. Especially if he's instilled so much fear into you and he's not even here to garner it. I just don't want to have to fight again... You know, we just got the pack out of our hair for now and he shows up." He sat back and thought for a while, his arm wrapped about her shoulders, being sure to keep her close. His body was still tense as he tried to reason their options out.
"We don't need to run. If he attacks the pack is at my command right now. We will fight him off. But I also don't know anything about this enemy so it will be hard to mount an attack on him..." He squeezed her to him and kissed her head. "Do you think you can tell me all you know about him and his powers? Just how old is he?"

Zalia hated this subject with a passion. It had been such an unfortunate time of her life that her own mind had often blocked out chunks of the memory. "I...I'm not sure. I'm sorry. I'm not much of a help..." She nuzzled against him. "He's old. He doesn't look it of course, but he is old. I don't know how old. He would never tell me. He was feared and respected as the 'leader' of the village we lived in. Nobody would go up against him, and those that did were killed on the spot. He has all the abilities of a normal vampire, I think. But he seems exempt from some of the disadvantages. And he has this...ability. I don't know if it's telepathy or just a connection with me. I hear him in my head sometimes. I see him in my dreams, or I think I see him when I look somewhere. It's like he's inserting an image of himself into my brain to cause panic."
She sighed. "He's sadistic. He loves toying with me because he hates me. He wants me as scared and upset as I can be before he does any actual harm. He likes playing around and provoking me. It must be why he's come here, after all. He got bored and wants someone to become his new toy."
She hated this. She hated it so much.

"Okay, okay. Calm down, now." He hushed her and held her closer. "From what I remember being told as a child, Vampires who are centuries old sometimes develop new skills, like telepathy or the ability to fly. But it's rare, or so I thought. I also know most vamps have a link with their "children" but that was meant to be their blood children, as in those they brought over. Maybe he has a link with you because you're his actual child.. but it's not as strong or direct because you weren't technically brought over by him?"
He frowned. "I am not a supernatural expert, but that's the kind of stuff I remember in regards to the blood-sucking undead." He was fingering the edge of a blanket, the sun would be fully up soon and it would be daybreak. "What kind of weaknesses does he have? Will we be safe because the sun is up or not?"

Zalia listened to him. "Well then I wish I was neither! I never wanted to be a vampire and I never wanted to be his child.." She held onto Bade. The topic was painful. Whenever she thought of her father, she thought of the many times spent curled up on the ground as he kicked her around.
"He can't go out in the sun. Not even him. I'm so relieved." She sighed and stayed cuddled up against Bade. "He doesn't have to sleep the whole day. But he does sleep some of it, and for the rest he simply can't be outside. He's probably back wherever he is staying right now. Probably some basement area, a cellar, or a place with no windows."
She looked at Bade and touched his cheek. "It's...going to be okay, right? You won't let him hurt me. Right?"

"No, I would sooner put myself in the way." He gave her one last hug before getting back to his feet. "Do you know anyone who might be an expert on the subject? I feel like we should ask someone what the best course of action is." He walked around his room and got his clothes together.
"I am going to shower, you're welcome to sit in the bathroom so you're not alone."
"I am going to shower, you're welcome to sit in the bathroom so you're not alone."
Zalia listened to him and shook her head. "No...I'm sorry. I don't know anyone. I'm pitiful. Other vampires terrify me..." With the past that she had, it wouldn't be so surprising. When he said about showering she almost despaired again at being left alone, but his solution was a relief. "Alright."
She wasn't near bold enough to suggest showering together. So she simply went and followed him to the bathroom. Once the door was closed she'd sit down with her back against it. She felt safe when she was with Bade.
