When Sylass saw the bright white horse that was probably a stallion, he did not even think about racing it. Drakes weren't known for their speed, but more for their durability. This Marsh Drake in particular had spikes on its back, but Sylass had a custom made saddle so his butt would not get impaled. His tail was wrapped around him like a belt so it would not slide over the dirt."Is pretty princess ready? Then let us go. Bier has not yet left."

And with that Sylass moved to the road,getting strange looks from many villagers. A monster riding a monster, wasn't that a sight?

Gaunt grinned at the villagers, then followed the Lizard on their way to Reinstaten.

The way to Farmer's Forum was an easy trip, though the odd duo received many strange looks. Mainly towards Sylass. Mages were a common sight since the Magic Academy was situated in Reinstaten. The coming of technology both agitated and interested these wizards.

Once the pair reached Farmer's Forum, which was a three hour ride, they came to a surprise. The farmer community was burning!

"Town is under attack!" Sylass roared."Action, finally!" He charged his Drake emmidiatly into town.

Farmer's Forum was a simple market town, where not many houses were, but alot of inns instead. And farmers trying to sell their produce for a better prize than in the city. Traders came through here often trying to catch the next zeppelin to the city. But the whole town was on fire and had a smell of death surrounding it.

Gaunt, still surprised by the sudden development, dismissed his steed and summoned two purple flames underneath is soles, keeping him floating and allowing him to levitate fast forward and jump higher. He prepared some summoning spells and rushed in after the lizard.

At the town center a group of people could be find midst the chaos of smoke and corpses. These people were mainly villagers or guests who arrived at a bad time. Protecting the group from whatever attacked were two Drow.

Both of them wore brown hermit robes, an outfit of the Magic Academy, indicating these wizards were above average level of magic. The male of the two Drow was a very old man armed with a hunting horn. He stood in a crooked way and didn't even had any pupils. His eyes were as white as his long thin hair and long goattee. This man was clearly blind.

The other Drow was a younger female with short dark hair and a fair face, though riddled with blood splats. She towered above the elder Drow and used a long staff that had a crystal similar to the colorful one Gaunt had collected from the caves.

Before the girl could cry out to the two gentlemen, she screamed."Here they come again!" From behind a burning inn came two creatures running. These were nothing Sylass had ever seen before! These creatures were completely covered up in animal hides and wore the skull of one where their heads should be. One of them wore a cow skull whilest the other one had a horse skull. The only thing visible of their body were their boney arms. The tallest of the two had two scythes for arms, whilest the other had one very long arm with a boney spike attached to it, like a scorpion's tail coming from its shoulder.

The tallest of these creatures had a child in its arm... half of a child. The poor kid had a face of agony on its face before the beast bit its head off. It made an ungodly noise as it noticed many more meals for it to enjoy. But Sylass was not planning on allowing these abominations enjoy yet another innocent. The lizard drew his weapons as he dismounted Kalinka."Discusting creatures. Cry Sylass' name when he sends you to whatever hell you came from!"

Gaunt was disgusted. He had never seen creatures or people like these before, and he was determined not to lot them hurt others.
he quickly weaved a spell and summoned two granite golems to aid the two Drowand another two behind the attackers. The golems on their flank started breaking into the attacker's lines.

The blind Drow grinned as he blew his horn. A loud bone chilling blow came out of the horn."Please, sirs. Help us get these villagers to safety. Our colleagues are holding the last zeppelin out of town on the ground for as long as they can! But we must hurry!" She mainly cried out to Gaunt.

Sylass was busy keeping the two abominations at bay, less than gracefully sliding away from their attacks and chopping in the legs. The golems did a good job at keeping additional attackers at bay, though one slipped through. A true giant of a monster with an elephant skull on display and boney hammers for hands. The thing charged Sylass and before the Lizard could react, it received a jaw breaking smash that send him rolling into the dust, motionless.

Kalinka had seen what happened and rushed for the giant, spewing toxic gasses at the fleshy creature and biting at its ankles. The poison seemed to do its work as the hammerbeast coughed and collapsed to the floor.

The other two creatures did not wait one second before attempting to finish off the passed out Lizard. Kalinka would not be able to reach her rider in time.

Gaunt weaved a new spell to stop the creatures. He knew he had to be fast, or Sylass would be done for. His hands moved in a blur, and when he was done, a giant eagle appeared behind The Lizard, flapping with his wings furiously to create a strong gust of wind. The creatures, not having expected the eagle's sudden appearance, weren't able to find something to hold onto in time. They were blown backwards and into a stone wall, knocking one unconscious. The eagle charged at them and grabbed one in each talon, flying up high into the sky before letting go. The monsters fell down and smacked into the ground hard, breaking several bones.

"We need to move now that we have the advantage!" Gaunt yelled at both drow, as his eagle picked up the unconscious Sylass in his talons.

Another creature appeared from behind Gaunt, but the Drow blew his horn once more, and a horde of locusts appeared out of thin air, engulfing the beast and making it blind as the female Drow threw a fireball onto it, burning up the creature alive."I know a conjurer when I sense one. You're quite good at your profession, my friend." The old man said with a smile."Dad, let's compliment eachother later, the man is right, we have a window of opportunity!" She turned around to the villagers."Alright, people, move to that Zeppelin tower! Go go go, we got you covered!"

Soon the entire group ran for the tower, though they could hear the monsters approaching. No one saw them yet though.

Sylass was a tough lizard, the wind helped awaken him, and surprisingly he had no bones shattered."What is this!?! Stupid bird let Sylass go! Let Sylass go!" He yelled at the eagle, not being able to reach his weapons. He wasn't about to bite it either, instead he hoped someone like Gaunt would hear his cries.

"It's okay sylass, it's my bird! You were unconscious, so i had him pick you up." Gaunt yelled.

"Sylass not care who's bird this is! Put Sylass down!" The Lizard yelled as he tried to squirm his way down.

The group had to act fast. The sounds of the monsters closing in became louder, and there wouldn't be much time left to reach the zeppelin tower.

Gaunt had he bird drop Sylass on his mount.
"Be quick Sylass, we need to get to the airship now, while we can!"

The Lizard gracefully landed on his feet as he sprinted for the zeppelin tower. There, more of the academy's wizards were waiting and had build a make shift barricade, but it would not be enough to keep the beasts out forever. Soon the villagers were all inside, which left Sylass to join them. As the Lizard looked over his shoulder, there were at least thirty of such strange beasts chasing him, all wearing different skins and skulls. Lest to say, Sylass had never ran this hard in his entire life. He even used his arms in order to gain more momentum, running like an actual four-legged animal.

Before the wizards closed the gate Sylass jumped through in the nick of time."Quickly now!" Said a rather large man with an epic bushy mustache."Onto the zeppelin! We're leaving now!"

The zeppelin was very large. The hull was shaped like half an egg, giving it much space for people to sit in. Not a moment after everyone got in, the doors downstairs broke down and the beasts made way upstairs."Up! Up! Up! Up!" the mustached man yelled panicking. Luckily the pilot lifted up in time. The ship was flying, and the beasts could only watch as their pray left them.

Gaunt, still floating at high speed on the ground, sighed in relief as he watched the ship take off. He called his bird to him and jumped on his back. He gained altitude quickly and was soon soaring in a straight line next to the airship. "Everyone allright over there?" he yelled at the captain.

The captain nodded, still catching his breath from the excitement."Most of em made it... What the hell were those things!?" He suddenly yelled. The old blind Drow answered."I'm not sure, but I think they might have been the Skinless."

Gaunt, as a magic user, might have heard of the Skinless; an order of Necromancers dedicated to perfecting themselves into the perfect abomination. Back in the days when the races were not yet united, they were locked up in an underground fort, bound by the strongest magic the races could muster. Magic trapped them, and only magic could let them out. Or so the legend goes.

Sylass leaned overboard, yelling at the beasts."Sylass' mother even prettier than stupid beasts! Sylass also smell better than any of you weaklings!"

Gaunt landed on the ship and dismissed the eagle.
"i've heard of them, but I thought them extinct."

The Drow girl nodded."We all did. Heck, we all thought they were just a myth. But... they match the description. Things wearing the hides of others because they lack one of their own... nothing about them is natural." Once Sylass was done yelling insults at the Skinless, he joined back with Gaunt. The two Drow approached them."Listen, we want to thank you for helping us save these villagers. You'e probably saved our hide as well. I'm Stasi. This is my grandfather, Onvol."

"Don't mention it." He looked at the other villagers. "I wish we'd have been there sooner. We might have been able to save more."

Stasi shook her head."Don't cut yourself short. You're a hero. Both of you. I haven't actually seen these creatures die until you showed up." She said as she looked at Sylass."You have incredible strength, kind Lizard." Sylass' tongue stuck between his sharp teeth as he grinned. Kalinka soon joined him, a green foul smelling saliva hanging from her lips."Sylass best Blackscale has to offer. Sylass can kill anything you throw at him." He said as he stroked over the Drake's head."Gaunt impressive. Saved Sylass' life. Brain and Brawn go well together."

"That they do!" Gaunt smiled. "Well, at least we managed to save some people at the very least. Glad we could be of service."
