At the bottom of all the chat boxes (I'm not sure if that's the technical term or not) there's a button that says 'include a dice roll with this post'. What does that do? I clicked it but the instructions were a bit confusing.
Hey Lizzly!
The dice are optional - they can be used however you like, but they were specifically included to enhance roleplays. We have a pretty awesome article with all sorts of dice info in it right here: http://www.rprepository.com/help/dice-primer
Sometimes dice are used in giveaways (like tombolas) or used to pick who starts the RP etc.
When the number of dice is set to 0, no dice will be rolled. The # of dice and the sides work like any other dice, but the modifier allows you to add or subtract from the final result.
For example, if I roll 1 dice with 6 sides, and my modifier is set to +10, the server will roll a random number for that die and add 10 to it. In the 'Optional note' you can explain what that particular dice roll is for.
You can add multiple dice by clicking 'Add another die roll to this post'.

rolled 1d6 and got a natural 2. After the modifier of +10, got 12
This is just a sample roll.
rolled 3d12 and got 15
This is a second roll that is just because! But this could also decide the damage my character takes in battle, if I wanted it to.
Thank you! That was very informative! I feel a little foolish now that I know the answer was so simple. But that's really cool too, an easy way to make decisions, genius.
