Update 9/18/2017: I'm especially interested in smart mouthed, potty mouthed little fixer-upper kids. And there's no reason to think Alf can't have more than one under foot.

18+ Players Only! No romance. I shouldn't have to specify that, but I've learned better.
I got nothin' against the younger folks, but I'm getting ooold, and the age difference is getting to be too great.

Any Gender
I'll take any gender but prefer to use the pronouns he or she when writing (still adjusting to using they/them). Alf will likely make an assumption IC and then roll with it.

Play Style!
I prefer para Rp. I can't do much with one liners, and I like OCs that react to things realistically. If your fifteen year old vanilla human sees a bear-toothed monster man, he's probably not going to walk up and say 'hey', because that's not normal.
I'm an active player and do best firing posts back and forth when we have time. I'm willing to slow post here and there, but it isn't really in my nature.
I need at least six to eight sentences per post on average. I wanna learn about your character through your posts.

Basic skills please.
Please capitalize those Is and use decent grammar and spelling. I like descriptive players, but quality over quantity is the way to go.

Setting
Modern Fantasy or Fantasy. Panfandom/fan characters are fine, too. I'm flexible. I don't mind bullshitting a reason for your OC and mine to bump into each other. We're just here to have fun!

Evenings. Usually after 8 pm Central USA Time.

Discord, and I'd love for the RP to happen there, but I'm willing to try other things.

What sort of OC are you looking for?
I'm looking for a character who reacts to things in a way that is realistic and believable. I get that some characters aren't afraid of big bad monster men, but so far no one has left me curious as to why. That's a big question.

The relationship will have to happen naturally, and it may not be what we expect when it does! If I've turned you down, odds are it has nothing to do with your writing. It's just very hard to find a relationship that clicks!

Yes!
- Smart mouthed kids. He will be more endeared to these. I'll take sweet kids too. Whatever you got. Throw it at me!
- Ages 8 - 18 ish. He can be the big brother type.
- Vanilla humans. Alf will take them on an ADVENTURE.

Neutral!
- Abused OC history is fine as long as it's not hyper-detailed.
- Drama is cool! Again, as long as it's not all they're about. OCs need more than one flavor.
- I'll take non humans/ magical humans too.

No!
- No romance, obviously.
- Don't hyper-detail abuse.
- Alf is not abusive (well, debatable, he's grumpy and loud. But he will never be violent or put-down).
- Not looking for child minded adults. I'm looking for genuine kid OCs.
- Not looking for especially young kids. If they aren't old enough to develop a personality/have an independence streak, then they're not a good fit.

What sort of player are you looking for?
- A good human who keeps OOC and IC separate.
- If we end up Rping in the Cat's Way, please respect my headspace.
- Maximum chill required. I'm not looking for OOC jealous/possessive types. Been there, done that, left unimpressed!
- I need someone casual and getalongable who I can take back and show to the RP family.

Interested? We'll do a test drive!
We'll start with a one shot RP (a low pressure, non-committal thing) and see if we want to do more. Our first Rp may not be more than a few posts long. It'll give us a chance to get a feel for each other! It may take several intense Rps to decide if the kid is a fit. These Rps will also likely be retconned (erased, undone, as it if never happened IC). I don't usually like to retcon things, but I use the same starter and follow the same storyline in almost every 'test drive'. If I didn't undo them, Alf would have a serious case of deja vu. To be honest, this also makes a good test of a person's chill level.

If for whatever reason I don't pick your kid, it doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the Rp, and it doesn't mean we won't start fresh later. I'm just looking for a very specific vibe!

Alf was making strides in his god given talent for poorly planned decisions.
Up the way, where the earth suddenly took a vertical turn UPWARD, Alf was stuck to the cliff face and observing a nest of cackling birds like a cat on a window sil. He had jammed his collar into the rockface as an improvised spike. The chain was his lifeline.

He also thought he was alone. None of the activity on the beach had occured to him when there were so many little feathered bastards waiting to heckle him if he dared glance away.
There was no easy way over there.
But he was not above finding one.

The beach would be added to Alf's territorial bubble, soon, but he had pressing matters to attend to. First of all, he didn't like that bird. That one. Right there. The one that looked at him sideways and stood a little behind the others like their small, frail bodies would somehow save it from him.
He was gonna destroy that bird.

Alf looked back with a distrustful grumble. It wasn't enough to just be on the porch, he wanted to have a door to shut behind him. The dark space they had left looked like an open mouth to him. There were nooks and crannies and darkened spaces inside where things could be watching. He didn't want to look over his shoulder in the middle of the night and see something blinking back at him, stray or not.

"Maybe there's a barn." He tried. He had a hard time distrusting a barn. It would also probably be set far away from the house where the only discomfort they would have to suffer was watching the windows from afar. He wanted none of that, but they couldn't sleep on the ground in a monsoon.

Whatever the case, he was getting away from the front door before something came out of it, or before it tempted them back in. Space could only be a good thing. Alf stepped off the porch and held her under the brunt of his chest. He'd made a human umbrella of himself. He didn't have to worry about catching a chill, not like she did.


If you want to skip formalities and just PM me info on your character and a sample post, I'd be completely okay with that. Please make sure the sample post is an average representation of your skills. You don't have to impress me.

Hey! I'm interested in this! The youngest oc i have is Mythical, so i guess i could use her? Or i could totally change my other oc's ages to make them younger if you like a certain character of mine.

Haven't found the right OC so far, though I've had many people offer up some great kids, none of them have been quite a fit. (That said, I'm looking for new faces. If we've talked already you probably didn't have the OC type I was looking for.)

I'm looking for a smart mouthed little drama hound, with a player who knows when it's appropriate to make drama IC and when it isn't. I need a balance.

Hi! I would be interested in this! Kislia is the equivalent of an eight year old human (She ages slower, so she's actually nineteen) and has a tendency to adopt people as her "parents".

I've got a character who might be up your alley. While I don't have a child character specifically, I can age down one of the ones I have, Selarth specifically. For simplicity's sake he'll be a 14 year old kid, no dragon aspect. He's snarky and grumpy most the time and tends to get into fights, a lot. He ran away from home a year or two ago after some family drama, and has been switching between street and shelter ever since. Unless someone comes to keep him out of trouble he'll find plenty of it. A lot of his behavior is an act and defense mechanism; underneath it he's a scared and lonely kid... mostly.

Selarth isn't his real name, but he picked a new one out for himself as part of him disowning his family or whatever the heck his problem is.

Updated info again. I'm having trouble keeping up with my messages. So I'm just going to leave an open invite. If anyone wants to send me a sample post/info on their character through PMs, feel free. I don't mind at all.

Make the sample post average. Pluck it from an out of context Rp if you want. You don't need to impress me, and I don't have to understand what was happening in the Rp. It's just to give me an idea if our styles match!

The reason I'm looking so hard is I'm trying to find a kid that 'clicks' with Alf. And sometimes that takes several scrap Rps to figure out. If I don't pick your OC, it doesn't mean I didn't like it, or that we won't Rp later, it just wasn't the flavor I was looking for.
