The shower was on in the bathroom as Jester woke up, foot steps were heard in the bathroom then the shower stopped. The door creaked open slowley and there stood Jaiden covered waist to knees in a towel. His hair dripping wet and his bangs covered one of his eyes completely.

His back was turned to heras he stared into the dusty mirror and saw his fuzzy reflection "i can't protect her... I can't protect anyone..." the dim glow from the light In the bathroom was shining through the now completely open door. Jaiden was stood there looking at his reflection with pained eyes.

Jester shot up into sitting position as she heard Jaiden's voice, joy flooding through her that it wasnt a dream. Then a violent cough racked through her body and she held her head as it ended. Her hole body was cold and ached painfully. Sweat beads were slipping down the side of her head and she was burning up.
"J-Jaiden.." she murmured his name wanting him to be close to her though she wasn sure if he could even hear her.

Jaiden turned around and saw her, happy to see her finally up but still worried about hr condition "baby stay laid down, don't talk. You need to recover"

He was by her side with a bottle of cool water "here drink this..." Jaiden put the bottle top against her lips then let her drink as much as she wanted. He got into the blanket with her then kissed her lips, it felt like they were kissing for the first time again. "I love you" he whispered their lips barely brushing.

Jester was very grateful for what he was doing and drank quite a bit. Laying back with Jaiden, she kissed him back as small jolts ran through her from the kiss. Snaking her arms around his neck, she kept him close and smiled at his words. "I love you too.." she whispered which was just about what she could do.

A shiver ran down her spine as it felt like ice claws were raking down her back. Her grip tightened on him a bit, wanting his warmth as she snuggled into his bare body.

Both of them laid there staring into each others eyes until they fell asleep. During the night Jaiden pulled her closer making their bodies touch.

The following morning the suns rays shined through the grey sky and into their room, the room was freezing cold as winter only became harder. Jaiden groaned and pulled the blanket over their heads not wanting to get up and stay by her side. Both of their legs tangled up.

Jester was out cold and didnt wake up even as Jaiden groaned and moved. She was almost drenched in sweat and her body was radiating heat as she layed with him. The dark circles had gotten darker and she almost a white color. Shivering, she was freezing as if she was submerged in ice. Her grip around his waist tightened further as he pulled her closer.

The spy was slinking through the shadows, heading for the city gates. It was time to report back to the president. Their leader was in serious condition. Their food was dangerously low. So they were weaker than before. Which meant the president could take them out.
The spy grinned wickedly at the thought. Then kept walking as if he owned the place which would make it easier for someone to see him. Which someone did.

Jaiden stood there by the side of the gate watching the spy "where are you going?" a gust of wind blew and picked up brown shrivelled up leaves. "if you think you can run, think again" Jaiden's gun was pointed at the spy's head.

"no matter how many people are part Of your 'resistance, you'll never be able to fight against the president" a smirk riled across his face, his hands were raised and he was wiling to give his life up for the president.
"you can kill me now if you want, but the information is on its way to the president as we speak" Jaiden's eyes widened "you've just put all these people in danger... And Jester..." without any doubts he pulled the trigger, a bullet pierced through the spy's forehead....

Jester blinked her eyes open when she didnt feel Jaiden beside her. Sitting up, a cough racked through her body and a shiver followed. Wrapping the blanket around herself, she struggled off the mattress and slowly made her way over to the door. Opening it, she started to walk out as another cough racked through her making her come to a halt. It was in the dead of night and freezing as the temperature was barely above fifty.

Jester wrapped the blanket tighter around her body and shivered at the cold air outside their apartment. Looking around the dimness of night, she looked for Jaiden.

A few of the freedom fighters dragged the body out through the front gate as Jaiden slowly walked towards the apartment complex, he was barely seen from the darkness that lurked outside "dammit! We can't afford a fire fight! Not now..." Jaiden ran his hand through his hair.

He caught Jester from the corner of his eye "baby what are you doing outside! You're not well and barely dressed..." he picked her up in his arms and tried to keep her warm as he walked up the stairs to their apartment.

Jester put her head on his chest as he picked her up. "You werent in the apartment..i was worried and cold.." she whispered an explanation. Once they got back into the apartment and Jester settled into the mattress but held onto Jaiden as he got in with her. "You look worried..whats wrong?" she whispered and brushed his bangs away from his eyes. Lightly brushing her fingers through his hair soothingly and along his cold cheeks. Kissing his lips gently before breaking it and looking into his eyes waiting for his answer.

Jester was worried about the group and she couldnt take care of them if she was sick herself. It was rather disappointing to her.

The sun started to rise slowly, it was 4:30am. Jaiden softly placed her on the matress. "the spy... he's been taken care of...but he was still able to send information to the president" he looked at her with eyes of guilt "i wasn't fast enough..."

He laid down besides her and stared at the ceiling. What was he to do... he slid his hand into hers then turned to face her. His bangs covered his right eye but it was clear thst he was looking into her eyes.

Jester gave him a reassuring smile and kissed him on the lips softly. "Its alright Jaiden..i dont think anything couldve stopped him. Your an amazing leader.." she whispered to him. She stayed close to him and gently ran her thumb along his cheek. "Babe i trust you with everything here. The president wouldve found us anyway.." she reassured. Snuggling deep into him and keeping him close to her. It was a hard thing to protect this big of a group and Jester was barely able to do it herself. Jaiden was doing such an amazing job for the couple of months he had been helping out. "I love you Jaiden.." she whispered and looked ito his eyes telling him she was serious.

Jaiden kissed her back with more passion then pulled away "i'll keep you protected... I'll keep you all protected"

held her close tightly and let her cuddle into his bare chest. The sound of his heart beating softly filled her ears like a symphony. "i love you too baby" they both drifted away into a night of slumber not knowing what dangers lay ahead, all they could do was fight just like they've always been doing.

Jester woke up with a jolt as a pain rushed through her head and body. A burning feeling as she untangled herself from Jaiden, crawling back until she fell off the mattress. Her breath was coming in pants as the burning pain died away and left a aching feeling throughout her body. Her body was quivering as she leaned against the wall. A violent cough racking through her body as she looked around the room. The poison was at its high point by now. It had been a week since Jaiden shot the spy and the poison kept building and making Jester weaker as well as sicker.

There was a knock at the door and Jester struggled up, stumbling over to the dor and using the wall for support. Opening the door, she almost collapsed but a man caught her. Shocked to see she was up, he looked over at Jaiden. "Jaiden!" he called his name. The man had come to give a report.

Jaiden rushed over to her and took her from his arms "baby, you okay?" he picked her up then placed her back on the matress. strands of her hair fell over her face as he put a bottle tip to her mouth.

"whats wrong ' Jaiden asked the man that was now stood behind him peerimg over his shoulderat Jester.

Jester's eyes fluttered shut but she eagerly drank the cold water. After she was done, she pushed it away. "No..i want to help..i feel useless.." she whispered a reply to his question. The man looked at her sympathetically before looking to Jaiden. "We found the ingredients to make an anitdote for the poison. But it will take a whole day to make," he informed Jaiden. Jester struggled to sit up but finally made it and looked at the man with a dull, joyful light in her eyes. The energy she exerted though left her panting and weak.

The man looked at Jester concerned then back to Jaiden.

Jaiden gave her a small smile at her reply "you're doing a lot when you stay right here and not get up" he pecked her forehead then her lips. Jaiden looked over his shoulder to the man "isn't there a way to speed up the process?"

Concern in his voice and eyes everyday for her, he'd wrap her up in a blanket then get Sophia totals care of her since Jaiden need to lead the resistance in her abscence. He wiped her forehead from the sweat with his bare hand and gave her a reassuring smile.

Jester pouted slightly at not being able to do work herself but it was onlu to lighten up the mood with an attempt at playfulness. But it ended in a violent coughing fit that left her throat feeling as if it was bleeding. Lettin out an exhausted sigh, she layed back on the mattress.

The man shook his head no and looked at Jester sympathically but it only proceeded to piss her off. "Would you quit it?! Im not dieing and thats the only look i've been getting for a week and a half," she snapped at him then turned away from them both. The man looked taken aback and he stepped away from the mattress at her tone.

"baby, don't. He's only feeling bad for you... You need sympathy that's how you know people care" be kissed her dry lips then lightly ran his thumb over her lips.

Sophia stepped into the room and Benji followed, running in and once again, like he always did for the past week, sit by her matress with his head tilted, be let out small moans every time she coughed. "good morning..." she said as she stood by the door.
"morning Sophie please come in, my portion of food is on the counter, feed Jessy when she's hungry okay" Jaiden said as he stood up and walked over to the man. Sophia nodded and sat by Jester.

"so this antidote will cure Jessy?" he asked the man.

Jester kissed back and couldnt help but shiver as he ran his thumb over her lips. She looked at the man apologetically. "Sorry.." she mummbled then turned her back to both of them as Jaiden got up, pulling the blanket over her head.

Jester heard Sophia and Benji come in but she was already falling into the warm embrace of sleep. Soon she was out quickly and nothing could wake her for a while yet. The man accepted her apology and looked to Jaiden as he asked that. "Yes," he confirmed then excused himself and left. Jester shifted in her sleep and was thrown into a dream about the president killing them all. It terrified the hell out of her but she couldnt seem to wake from it as it droned on.
