Aboard The Wayfarer, a stealth frigate built with cloaking and radar jammers, you and your team are in search for any signs of survivors aboard the Vega station hidden deep within an asteroid field. 48 hours ago communications had been cut off without explanation and higher ups have become increasingly jittery about the situation. No one was given a briefing about the situation but was instead just told to mount the ship and get over here to find any crew alive asap.
In the crew quarters acting captain of the mission, Ryan Keyes, was sitting in his bunk looking over all the information he was given, which wasn't much, and thinking over ever possible factor that could have become of the now MIA crew. Ryan would sit and stare at his datapad for hours stroke at his beard. Eventually he just puts down the datapad and proceeds to stare out of the port window and silent thought.

The sound of hurried footsteps from down the passageway announced the arrival of someone long before they reached the door to the crew quarters. Sliding open with a hiss, beyond the door stood the Wayfarer's communications unit. With a data pad in one hand and half occupied with the task of finishing changing into an engineers uniform, she makes her way up to the Captain.
Giving a messy salute with data pad, she then offers it to Keyes while commenting "Captain Keyes, additional orders from Headquarters. I am being re-tasked to assist with reestablishing communications to and from the station once we arrive." Despite being 'just a machine' as some of the crew liked to call her, the tone in which she spoke sounded almost like she was irritated at the new orders.

Ryan swivelled his head back towards Marconi and took the datapad to then read it. With his eyes scanning the message briskly he stands up and offers a handshake for Marconi with a salute "Welcome aboard to Task Unit Orion, meet me back in the briefing room in 0300 hours along with the rest of the team and we'll go over the plan. If you have any questions or concerns I will answer them to the best of my ability." Ryan then turns around but does a double take before hand and points at Marconi "And don't make the mistake of leaving any gear behind." Turning back around Ryan falls back into his chair with an abrupt thud.
