He...hello....and thank you. I...im not sure if im gonna stay just yet cause im still looking around a such. But this place dose seam very promiseing so far, since its rather easy and complex i mean and you all seam so nice thus far. The only really problem i have so far is well....how do you actully rp here? is there some kind of thread system like in RPG here or? Cause to me it seams like there is only private messages and some kind of forum for public rps? or to find rps? Just i dont know...i might just be confused. But from what i seen so far it seams like this place is more for finding rp then actully rping right here. And i assume thats not the case of course....so i would be pretty greatful if anyone could explain to me how it works rpwise.

Let's see here, how to actually RP? Well, first off you need to find a RP! This is an easy one. All you have to do is look through the Looking for RP Forum at what's available. If none of those suit your fancy, then you can always make up your own RP ad! Here's a nifty way of showing you how to set that up. You can also use the Find RP Tool, which is useful if you want to jump right into a RP! More details on how to use that are right here. After you've found someone to RP with, here's the actual steps to RP on the site.

1. Make a RP topic in the three main IC forums. It's just as simple as clicking the Create Topic button and sending out your first RP post, or posting a response in a RP thread that says Open. If you want to keep up with the replies as they come in, you can always subscribe to the thread. If you make your own thread, you're automatically subscribed to it. I think the main IC forums work like a thread system as well, but I haven't seen RPG's thread system and how it works. (If you could tell me more about that, that would be appreciated!) But more information on that is listed here.

2. Send out a PM to the person you want to RP with. Which is as simple as sending a PM to someone! If you're not sure how to send a PM, just click here. We've just recently added a feature where you can add new members to a PM conversation! More info on that is right here.

3. You can also make groups for your RP, as that's easier to keep up with, and you can add in as many people as you like while following your own rules for it. More info on groups is here.

3. If you're looking for a more real-time experience, any PM or thread on RPR can be opened to a real-time chat by clicking the Launch Chat Button. If you want others to use this feature as well, just let them know in the RP ad or topic!

I think that's it. From what I've heard, RP Repository was originally just that: a repository for characters to be hosted as an easier option aside from Wix or other sites. The option to RP here got added a long while back, and it's continuing to grow. If you're not fond of how the thread system here works, you can always talk to Kim or post in the Suggestions Forum! It may well be added if it's viable for the site and other people want it too.

It's rough dealing with a lot of new things to learn right off the bat, especially if you're used to how another site does things. Other people also use RPR as a way to just find RPs, and host the actual RPing on a different client like Discord or Furcadia. There's so much to take in and learn, but a lot of people use RPR to RP effectively. It just takes some getting used to and exploring! If you need help, you can always ask us, okay? And I really hope this long schpeal helped in some way.

I've been on here for a week already, joined on the 22nd of this month, and still somewhat getting used to things. But that shouldn't be too much of an issue for much longer.

I am open to talking and rp discussions with anyone, though please be aware I'm more of a PM person than a forum person.

So you mean there is a way to privately rp with someone in this section of the site? Cause to me this place right here of the site is very much alike threads in RPG, its windows with profile pictures, shows date and such. And even puts the reply window above the other replies. Which i personally perfer then the other way, since im used to that orientation from RPG. And well you dont really have that everywhere so it dose get....how do you say? confuseing? *shrugs* And well i have gotten familar with PM yes that you get in your inbox but....it if far from bein to my likeing. Its first of all reversed in the opposite way im used to (maybe you could make that an option to choose from??) and i really dont appricate that the more pm you make the more you need to scroll down to see what the latest reply is. I could show you pictures and such of how RPG looked like and give you an idea of how you could do...if you like i mean.

I dont wanna be pushy or sound rude or anything here. But well i must say, out of all the things that RPG had that i really liked. It was the'ire Thread system, it was simple and cleverly designed. Sure it seamed wierd to me at first but i actully got used to it quickly because well it was just that good. And i only been looking around here for a day or so and i must say that i am pretty impressed so far. But well...if i cant rp here and need to go somewhere else to actully rp then....well then i dont see the point of staying frankily. I mean i could try to get used to it and such of course, i wont be unreasonable but if you're saying your open to suggestions and maybe even could make something that we RPG members would be more comftable with then i would be overly happy and greatful to you. Its been *sighs* more than hard to find some good place to go to after RPG....and like i said, im already impressed with this site. It shows that you put ALOT of effort and thought into this place and for that i adore you. And well if its true that you been only recently added rping here then, i cant be too judegeing or harsh of course in that regard. But then maybe togheter we could make this place even better? Not saying its bad or anything here and im really sorry if i sound rude or anything now but....i hope you understand what i mean.

Why yes! All you have to do is set up a RP thread in one of the three IC forums and mark it as (Private), (1×1), or (Closed RP). That way everyone else will get the hint not to post in there!


So are you saying the thread system here is similar to RPG's or unlike it? I know in other thread systems, you have to scroll down to get to the reply box, and in RPR it's already right there when the page loads, but some people find that way a bit more convenient. It takes some getting used to, I won't lie on that.


Actually, if you set up notifications on your phone or laptop, you can instantly click onto the notification and it takes you straight to the new message. No scrolling down or anything! And yes, I'd like to see pictures, so I know what you're referencing in terms of a thread system.


Some people take that as an option, but most people who stay here on RPR use the forums or PMs to RP just fine! Some people just like the customization options of RPR's character system, and just prefer RPing somewhere else. But you can indeed RP here if that is your choice!


Understandable! But in that regard, if you do have any requests on how to make RPR a better site, you can always click here and post your suggestions or ask the admin Kim! (With that link, just make sure you select that it's a suggestion and not a bug report!) She knows a lot more about the site than I do (she's the one who created and maintains it after all. I've only been here for almost two years and just like to help people), so maybe she can help clarify a few things for you.

Ah i see, i'll have another look at that then. I was sure i had seen it somewhere but i couldnt quite find the option when i made a thread on the forum. And hm? so you mean people could still enter and look? I dont know how i feel about that. I mean i wanna roleplay privately for a reason and as far as i understand it then this site PG so...i wouldnt want to get into any trouble or anything. Though to be honest im getting pretty used to the inbox messages.

Im saying its alike, both apperance wise and functionailty wise. Cause yea i too like to have the reply box at the top so that i can reply right away and simply peak down to see the latest reply.

And hehe i just noticed that actully^^ very handy really!

And hmm i see, well personally i would like a site where i can do well all of it. And it seams like i can here^^ I can even make groups to find people of similar intresst and such. Only thing missing now is well chatrooms but im pretty sure i seen that somewhere too. xD

And lastly i really dont wanna sound rude or like im some expert or something on rp sites of course. So im sorry if i come of or sound like that. And thanks, i'll be sure to that. Though honestly i dont know about what anymore since all my suggestions i had pretty much seams to be here already. Well theres the inbox notification that dosent refresh automaticaly and well thats kinda annoying since i need to refresh the page over and over so to be sure i dont miss anything. But honestly its not that bad or big of a deal really so im not gonna complain over it xD And also thank you for all your help and kind words^^ makes me feel more at home already.

People can't see what's in your private messages, unless you specifically add them.
You can use the "launch chat" button at the top and bottom of any forum topic, whether it's in a private group forum or our public RP forums, to turn your topic into a real time chat! There's also a link in the sidebar of private messages that will let you do the same.

We have a TON of features here, and we really do go out of our way to try and improve the convenience of things on a regular basis. I know it's not what you're used to, but give it a week or two!

I've actully seen all that since my last reply and i think its great yes^^ but i must admit that the Launch chat is....well slighty odd to me. I would much rather perfer to have the Launch Chat in the acutal brower instead of in a mini window. Perhaps you could add that as an option? Im not saying of course that you should remove it cause i bet alot of people likes this but well...maybe give the option to choose what kind you perfer somehow? Like perhaps put this Launch Chat thingy in the group forums as a new tab? so people in the group can do there to chat? Or is that what forums is for? I mean it dose seam like it yes but well...forums to me seams more like where you discuss something. Not chatting and fool around like in a chatroom xD but that may just be me. Anyway....i think i would perfer to have the Launch chat actualy on the website instead of as a seperate window. Agian as an option not to replace it xD Sorry if im rambleing....

Roleplayersguild refugee as well. I'm slowly getting the hang of things here, just a bit to adjust to even after the various forum and site styles I've been on.

Try right clicking the button and choosing "Open in a new tab"

I still feel really sad on what happened to the site, I always thought it had potential to be something since I thought the format was pretty good but sadly stuff happens, I hope folks feel comfortable here although I'm still trying to get used to how things work here.
