So, recently in class I started reading Edgar Allen Poe, and IMMEDIATELY I was hooked... Especially on this particular story. And after a while my teacher pointed out how he'd love to recreate this and I started thinking it would make a good rp. If you want to read it, it's a great read, but in its most basic form it's this:

A disease is quickly spreading through the kingdom. It causes death within what, an hour? A half hour of infection? The prince decides to take in 1000 of his friends and lock themselves inside the castle to wait out the destruction. While there, they hold a masquerade, which is full of liveliness and happiness, until someone enters looking like they have the Red Death (blood leaking through skin, corpselike, etc). The prince goes to stop him and- Dead. The next closest people, all dead. One by one they all die until no one's left.

So here's what I'm thinking: We don't need to stay rigidly to this, but I'd like to see where it WOULD go (almost experimentally., yay!). We don't need such a um... Destructive... end if you wish not to (Perhaps they all evade this monster, perhaps they just... I dunno. It's nonphysical, you can't kill it). Just the key elements are needed. A sickness, any sickness, a quarantine by government officials, some grand party thrown by some crazy person, then probably some chaos. Group preferred.

Yes, but they might need to hide their abilities and such (might, depends on the rest of the group)
