I look around and eventually spot my father lying perfectly still in a pool of blood. "No!" I call out, tears beginning to form in my eyes. A sudden rage fills my body and I charge snarling in the direction of the hunter. The hunter fires another shot. It hits me straight in the shoulder but I feel no pain as I'm blinded with rage. Before the hunter can reload again, I leap onto him and bite down hard on his neck, killing him instantly.

Flinching at the sound of the gun and Marik killing the hunter, Devil backed away into the forest afraid his blind rage would be taken out on her. Deme started pacing back and forth afraid something had happened to Devil.

I look up at Devil, hopeless sadness in my eyes. I'm panting heavily, with blood dripping from my jaws. Suddenly the pain in my shoulder hits me. The last thing I see before I black out is Devil backing away slowly into the forest.

Devil hesitantly scampers up to Marik and nudged him with her nose hoping for a response. “ I’m gonna get her” Ray said quickly running off into the forest before anyone can protest. When ray saw Devil and Marik he rushes over.

I lay on the ground in a passed out state. The only thing I can feel is the excruciating pain in my shoulder.

Hesitantly Ray lofted Marik onto his back and carried him to the cave that Monica and the others were. “Devil are you okay?!?” Deme cried rushing up to him. “I am..... but he’s not” Devil replied nudging Marik.

I stir slightly when Devil nudges me but can't find the energy to open my eyes and get up. "Uncle Marik!" Maya cries out and rushes over to me. "Are you dead?" She says, tears flowing from her eyes. She cuddles up to me, as if I'm just sleeping and begins to cry.

“Umm.... he will be fine don’t worry” Devil said patting Maya’s back “do you know anyone who can help with this?” She whispered to Monica. Sakura quickly layed next to Marik as if he was a cold pup.

My shoulder begins to bleed badly. "I-I don't know" answers Monica looking worried. In the backround, Maya is still cuddled up to my limp body, weeping. "I know basic healing but I don't know" Monica finally answers.

“What should we do?” Devil asked Monica as Deme sat by Maya and tried to comfort her.

"We should get his father, he'll know what to do" said Monica.

“About that.... he’s gone” Devil said quietly so the pups didn’t know. Deme gave up on trying to comfort Maya and Maura (one of the older does) came to comfort Maya.

"What do you mean gone?" She said in awe.

“Like, dead, I’m pretty sure he wasn’t moving” Devil said uneasily swaying back and forth slightly.

Monica gasped and cursed under her breath. "Well this makes things more vital cause if the Alpha is dead..." She looks over at Marik. "He is the new Alpha"

“B but what if he passes away also?” Devil said to Monica quietly hoping no one else heard.

"He is the Alpha's only child so there will be lots of fighting over the position if he dies" she look at Marik and then back at Devil. "And that's why we are not letting him die. Stay by him, I'm going to get something to help heal the wound."

“Ok” Devil said and trotted over to Marik. Sakura stood up to go help Maura comfort Maya and Devil layed down next to Marik listening for a sign of him regaining concious.

My eyes flutter open slightly and whimper quietly, still not strong enough to properly get up.


Monica runs of into the forest. Eventually she reaches the clearing, panting. In front of her, a big group is circled around the fallen Alpha. "Monica! Thank goodness" She hears from behind her. Roan trots up to her. "The Alpha is dead, where's Marik?" He says. "He may die too. Now quick, help me bring some healing herbs from the cave" Monica replies. The two walk towards the healing cave.

Devil wanted to help but had no idea what she could do for Marik. I wonder if he’ll make it Devil thought unconsciously inching towards him. Deme sat waiting for Monica to return.
