"No I can't."

"Why not?"

"I just can't!!" Kate says quickly.

"Kate... I am getting very concerned..." Chiyoko approached Kate slowly and knelt down to her height, considering Kate was sitting down. "Are you alright?"

"Everything's fine." Kate shifts slightly.

"Kate..." Chiyoko's voice was sweet now, and caring. "Please, I'm concerned. You're lying to me."

"No I'm not!! Things are fine!"

"Kate..." This sounded to be the last time she'd be so sweet.

"She can't say anything," Kayla says from where she sat.

"Why not?" She shook her head, reaching for the phone. "This is silly. I'm calling your parents."

"That's okay," Kayla says, finishing her food, putting her plate in the dishwasher, and going upstairs. She goes into the twin's room, after knocking, and watches them play with a Lego set. After a moment, they let her join in.

She dialed the number and put the phone up to her ear, hearing the dial tone. She tapped her fingers on the counter while she waited.

Joseph picks up after a few moments. "Hello?"

"Hello! It's Chiyoko. I've noticed Kate acting a little strange. Is everything okay?"

"Huh? In what way is she acting strange?"

"She's lying to me and when I ask, she says she can't tell. Is she okay?"

"Wait, what is she lying about?"

"I ask her what's wrong, and she says nothing's wrong. She's very obviously lying."

"Oh.. Well, sometimes Kate just needs to be reasoned with. Maybe try that..?"

"How? I don't know a thing about her."
