Hello everyone! (Redundant with my title, I know. Haha)
I am a newcomer to this site, but not a newcomer to the RP world. Almost a decade ago, I graduated from high school and started college. I moved away from my friends and family and my friends also moved out of town. It was at that time that I started RP on Myspace. I instantly fell in love with it, because I managed to forge a group of friends whom I could indulge in a nerdy hobby of mine, that I never had to worry about moving away from. I've been an active RPer, throughout that entire time, sans a few domestic and foreign vacations that I went on, over the years. From Myspace I moved on to Roleplayer.me and Aniroleplay.com . I moved onto Roleplayers Guild, after RP.me and Ani started dying down in activity and showing signs of security breaches. Now with Roleplayers Guild shutting down in November, I decided to transfer here. So far, I'm very impressed with this site and I wish that I knew about it sooner. I'm a little overwhelmed by all of the character customization options and I'm still trying to get organized and get my bearings, but I'm overwhelmed in a good way. I really want to say that I appreciate how much this site looks out for its users and makes things easy for us. While I'm getting accustomed to things on here, I would love to get some stories going with all of you.
Since I'm terrible at talking about myself, I guess I'll answer the questions given up top, here:
My favorite kind of RP usually teeters towards Action/Adventure/Exploration & Slice of Life. Elements of drama are fantastic to keep things from going stale. I will engage in most types of RP, except fighting unless if there are clearly established rules, beforehand (and it appears as though this site might even be able to take that out of writing, which could make fight RP's actually interesting). Because I am most familiar with writing as a feral lion, I figured I'd try to gain some headway here (since I haven't really been involved in that, for a few years now). Once I'm a little more familiar with this site, I'll create another couple of characters.
Here I hope to find good stories and good people. I just want to keep enjoying my hobby and engage with people who share in this pastime.
I had a cat for most of my life (as seen in my avatar. That was an Adobe Illustration I did of her, my first semester of college). Her name was Tuffy and sadly she passed several years ago. Since then, I've spent a lot of time traveling in other countries and going to school where I've lived in places that don't allow pets. I'm still living somewhere that doesn't allow pets, but I'm saving up to buy a condo and I definitely want a cat again, as soon as I get there.
I am a college graduate with a degree in Philosophy. During my academic career, I really enjoyed the sciences, especially physics. Quantum mechanics and cosmology are fascinating to me and if I had a better math background (highest I took was calculus I), then I would've pursued another degree in physics. I also really loved Art class, in grade school, and took several advanced drawing courses and dabbled a little in photography.
As far as work is concerned, I am the Southern California Project Administrator for a high voltage construction company. I'm basically a corporate drone who acts as an internal auditor, accountant, contract reader, and low-level project manager. I'm working towards trying to take some project management classes, so I can move more in that direction. When I first started at this company, I actually worked in Safety/Risk Management. I was an admin in that department and helped track employee training records, attended safety seminars, went over case files, backed up the claims manager, all of that fun stuff. It's interesting where corporate restructuring sends you, sometimes.
My hopes and dreams are in a constant state of flux. Ever since I was a little kid, I've wanted to live in the city... that's been the one constant thing. I'm working towards that, right now, and I'd like to get a job with a multi-national company to have the option to transfer to Europe, or New Zealand, or Singapore, or somewhere interesting. I guess that's my primary focus, at the moment. Someday I'd like to either own my own business or buy a building, in the city, and rent out all of the apartments/offices to be a landlord. I've danced around with so many ideas in my head, that it's difficult for me to settle on one ambition.
As of right now, I don't have any questions about the site, but if any pop up then I'll speak up.
Thanks for reading! I know this was kind of long-winded.
I hope to write with you soon.

Welcome to RPR! What a great introduction. I hope you make some awesome new RP friends and have tons of fun here!
Welcome to the site! I hope that the people you met and the rps you get into help let you forget about all the stress that you are going through.
Welcome to RPR. I'm Asroc. I RP many and mostly Canons, but I am friendly to OC RPers and will RP with them. I do mainly AU RPs as them. Enjoy your time here.

Thank you very much! I appreciate the welcome. I have a feeling that I'll be very happy here.
Hey ZEdge, welcome to RPR!
Welcome! Thank you for this wonderful intro, I feel like I learned a lot about you. I'm sorry you are one of those that is losing their old RP home, but am just so thrilled that you are liking it here so far. Also that your overwhelm is a good kind of overwhelm; I don't think that's true of everyone that's making the leap.
I am sure you've seen this already, but juuuust in case, here's a post aimed at the RPG folks: https://www.rprepository.com/community/newspost.php?post=562

Thank you everybody, for being so welcoming and accommodating. It makes me really happy to see this site welcome my fellow RPG refugees. I'll be sure to let all of you moderators and staff know, whenever I have questions pop up. I learn best by doing things for myself, so for now that is my goal. I plan to really tinker around this weekend, when I don't have to be at work all day. I am really glad that people liked my little intro. If anyone has any questions of me, feel free to let me know. I'm generally a pretty easy-going fellow.
Thank you Kim, for directing me to that post.

Welcome to RPR fellow RPG refugee! I, too, wish I found RPR sooner. It's quite lovely here. Very open, accepting and helpful.
My condolences about Tuffy even though it's been a while. Your art of her is lovely.
I wish you the best in your ambitions and adventures to come!

Welcome welcome! Rpr has helped me branch out in so many fun new ways with roleplay. Hope you find things right up your alley.
Woah, ZEdge. That's one heck of an impressive entrance. Kim's right, I feel like you're the person here I know the most about IRL because of that amazing first post. Bravo! I loved reading through it all, I like them long paragraphs.
Those scenarios you gave hits the bullseye to what I am also writing about; every single genre you mentioned is right up my alley, so if you need a partner to do a story with, hit me up!
Oh, and I love traveling as well. I currently live in Japan, but I'm planning to go back to Europe again maybe next year. Man, I'm so glad you joined us. Welcome!

Lovely to meet you, ZEdge! I hope you're able to chase down those dreams successfully in the next few years--those are awesome ambitions and I'm stoked to see you go places. Kudos on all the hard work, it sounds like you've had your nose to the grindstone for a long time now.
I'm also a newbie to RPR, but I agree... it seems like a nice place, with welcoming folks and intuitive UI. I love your character profile, btw! I haven't dipped into feral RP for probably over ten years, but it's lovely to see characters like yours written well. If I see any characters who might mesh, I'll point them your way. If you're the sort who enjoys crossing the streams of feral and humanoid RP, toss me a line some time. I'm about to get into NaNoWriMo but I like throwing ideas around even if I can't RP at the moment.
