Sair was lounging in one of the large leather couches, a laptop on his lap and a wide-screen TV playing the news. He glanced over at Ariadne when she came in. "Do you have any volunteer or paramedic stuff to do today?"
Ariadne had no paramedic work, but she was always expected at the soup kitchen.
"I'm supposed to do dinner for the folks tonight...I can get someone to cover for me if you think it's not a good idea. I don't want to endanger my patrons."

Sair held out a phone to her. "Call in a replacement. The cops are keeping an eye on the place, but if you're there it could just make things worse. I think they know you're here with me now, so they're biding their time; waiting for you to do just that, to come out of the 'safehouse' and into the open." He chuckled. "They don't know what's waiting for them when that happens."
Ariadne took the phone, her eyebrow raised. "What will be waiting for them, when I leave the safehouse?" She asked. She thought for a moment about who she could call, who would be available for a shift, or a couple of shifts.
Sair looked at her and grinned. It was a somewhat dark grin, perhaps slightly scary. "Me." He would turn his attention back to the computer in a moment or two afterwards, focusing on whatever he was doing on there. The news was boring, it didn't seem like anything special. It was a wonder why he even had it on.
Ariadne was somewhat uncomfortable with the look he'd given her. What exactly did he have planned for them. Surely they deserved whatever they got, still she hoped he didn't plan on hurting them badly, or killing them... surely time in jail would serve them just as well...She didn't say anything though, she wasn't sure she wanted to know what his plans were.
She called one of the volunteers, and claiming personal matters, told her she would be off work, at least today, possibly for a few days. When she hung up she looked over at the tv.
"Anything crazy happen on the morning news?" She didn't know how he could watch it, news was always depressing.

Sair shook his head. "Not yet. Just local boring stuff. But it's just what I want." He smirked and paused the screen, pointing to someone in the crowd. "That's one of the goons in the gang that is after you." He make a little note on his laptop, then kept watching the TV. "They're always around any kind of hubbub. They try to stay involved, but always behind the scenes. And involved in a bad way, not a good way."
Ariadne frowned, as she came to sit next to Sair. They were involved in all of the hubbub? God, she was in way over her head with these people. Still she wouldn't regret her decision to help Sair, when he'd needed patching up.
"My apartment wasn't on the news was it?"
"My apartment wasn't on the news was it?"
Sair shook his head a little. "Nope, it wasn't on the news. Don't worry. If it was, I'd let you know right away, because it's important." He chuckled. "They're too scared of the cops to go in. They're around...but not in." He shrugged and leaned back on the couch.
After a few minutes of the news, he suddenly sat upright and paused the screen. "...that's interesting." His eyes were locked on the TV. "Bossman doesn't usually come out of the shadows..."

Ariadne peered over at the TV with some amount of interest. Boss man, she supposed was the leader of the troublesome gang, currently on their backs. She searched for a face that she might recognize, found none.
"Who, which one?"
"Who, which one?"
Sair got up and walked to the screen, pointing at a man in the background. He was very well-dressed, looking much like a professional businessman. "That. That's him. Giovani." His eyes narrowed, his hands clenching into fists. "I owe him a knuckle sandwich. And I'm giving him a lot more than that."
Ariadne peered at the well dressed man on the TV, memorized his face, in case she ran into him in a dark alley. Ariadne saw the way Sair reacted to seeing him, and became concerned.
"You wont do anything...stupid...will you? She hoped he wouldn't get hurt in the process of getting to this guy. She didn't want him to kill the guy either.

Sair looked at her, his mouth opening for a smart, sharp remark. But it never came. He just closed his mouth and looked away. "I'll do what I want." he grumbled, turning off the TV and walking into the kitchen. He got a soda out of the fridge, sighing. His parents weren't exactly into alcohol, so there wasn't any of that in the house. And it was what he wanted at the moment.
Ariadne frowned at his answer and fiddled with her fingers for a moment, as he left her alone in the TV room. She brought her knees up close to her, deep in thought. It had been her willingness to stitch him up that had gotten her in this position, sure...but, what if he got hurt again because of her? He didn't deserve to have to deal with protecting her, on top of all the crap he obviously had going on at home.
Sair finished the soda quickly, then tossed it in the trash and walked over to her. "...I've got a question for you." He leaned in the doorway, crossing his arms over his chest. "Do you like pool?" He lifted a brow, waiting for her answer. "There's a pool table downstairs, if you want to kill some time."
Ariadne peered up over the chair at him. Pool? She smiled and nodded. She loved pool, was pretty good at it too. She got up from her seat, and walked towards him. "Sure, Pool would be great."
Sair gave a nod and started walking, leading her downstairs into a fully furnished basement. A typical mancave, with a big TV and all sorts of gamestations and speaker systems, and a foosball table and pool table off to the side. "You want to start?"
Ariadne nodded, and picked cue. She then gathered the balls, and stuck them in the triangle form at the end of the table. When she was ready, she removed the form and broke. Getting a 7, stripes in. She went again, and got nothing.
Sair was solids, since she got a striped ball in. When she didn't get anything her next shot, he took his turn, getting a solid in. "What do you do when you're not working, Ariadne?" he asked, honestly curious. He only ever saw her working, so he really didn't know.
She let out a long sigh, they were on a somewhat touchy subject for her. She was entirely lame. She did nothing besides work. At an age where everyone else in her peer group were spending nights drunk, and partying and dating, and all that fun stuff, Ariadne worked, because if she wasn't helping someone, she felt useless.
She chewed her lip before answering, deciding to just be honest about it. It wasn't as if this guy held her with much regard anyway.
"I uh...I don't really do anything but work." She waited for him to take his next turn.
