Sair rubbed his face. "An hour. What do you want to do until then?" He seemed tired. Even though he talked big, he looked pretty worn. "Man...I really don't want to deal with them. Do you want to go downstairs and play some videogames? They don't bother me down there. Most of the time, anyways."
How worn he looked, hadn't gone unnoticed to Ariadne, but she didn't say anything. She could do video games, was even pretty good. She hoped his parents would leave him alone today. She wouldn't hold her tongue again, if she heard the kinds of things they'd said to him last night.

Sair went downstairs with her once more and set up one of the videogames. He handed a controller to her and started playing, relaxing a bit as he started getting into it. All the worries and concerns that he had from his fight and parents were simply blocked off for now, hidden by the excitement of the videogame and the thrill of competition.
Ariadne held her own in game play, she perhaps wasn't quite as good at the game as he was, but she kept up easily enough. She too was buzzing with the thrill of competition. They likely didn't even notice the quickly passing time.

It wasn't long before noise came from upstairs. Sair didn't even notice, too caught up in making sure he was doing his best to try and beat her. He didn't want to lose in videogames to a girl! But soon, their bliss was destroyed as a shout came down the stairs. "SAIR!" Sair frowned and just kept playing. "SAIR!!" He kept playing. Footsteps stomped down the stairs. His dad soon came into view, walking over to them angrily. Sair got up before he could pull the plug on the game and stepped in front of him. "What? Wanna go, old man? I can take you." he growled angrily.
Ariadne put down her controller after Sair's father had unplugged the game, rather rudely. SHe didn't say anything yet though, just waited patiently to see what the man had to say.

His 'father' handed a letter to him. "Just take it. I'll get you some day, punk." He scowled at Sair, then turned and left. Sair looked at the letter and frowned. "Great. It's from dad." He tossed it into the trash bin and sat down. "Just telling me how much he loves me, even though he's nowhere around.." He rolled his eyes.
Ariadne frowned. Why the hell had the man come down, and ended their game so rudely, when all he wanted to do was hand Sair a letter. What an ass! Furthermore, Sair's reaction tot he letter had been interesting. So, his biological father wrote him? But wouldn't see him? She was beginning to be outraged for the man.

Sair just silently plugged their game back in and sat down. He needed to drown his sorrows in fictional violence. Ariadne probably preferred it from the real violence he got into, though.
Ariadne picked up her controller, seeing as he was plugging the console back in. She had some questions she wanted to ask, but was not sure how willing he'd be to answer them, and how upset they would make him. She decided to wait it out for a bit. She could ask a bit later when he'd calmed down some.

Sair mashed the buttons on his controller mercilessly, attacking wildly with his character. Over time she would be able to tell as he calmed down because it was less rage and more planning and thought with his moves. Videogames was a good outlet for his anger though, apparently.
Ariadne waited until he was good and calm about his game play before she finally asked the question on her mind.

"Has your father always written you?"

Sair looked over at her, frowning a bit at her question. "Yeah. Well, not all the time. I think after twenty-some years, he started writing." He shook his head a little. "At first I read it. But then each letter was just pretty much the same. Expressing his 'love' for me, but regretting being able to never be around. He never gave a return address, though, and he never explained why he left me, or why he couldn't be here. He never explained anything. So I just stopped reading them."
What a jerk. It had obviously done some damage on his supposedly cherished son. What could possibly keep someone away from their kid so long? He'd better of had a damned good reason to ruin his kid like that. Ariadne let out a soft sigh, trying to release the anger she felt for a situation completely out of her control.

"You got a really crappy hand didn't you."

Sair gave a soft scoff. "Well, yeah. Doesn't matter. I'm just going to do what I want." He shrugged and leaned back. "I don't have anyone holding me down, so it doesn't bother me. I just ignore it. I can ignore whatever I want."
Ariadne thought it must be nice to not care. Though she was skeptical that he let it go as easily as he seemed too. She couldn't imagine it being a situation that was easy to ignore. Still she dropped the topic, not wanting to upset him, or get herself more worked up over things that apparently didn't matter at all to him.

Searching for a new topic, she found she did have a question for him, unrelated to the topic at hand.
"Sair....whats the plan? I mean...when can I go home?"

Sair thought over her question. "Well, I don't really have a plan. And I don't know, I mean you could go home today if you wanted, but they're always gonna be looking for you you know." He shrugged, as if it didn't really matter much to him.
Ariadne found herself just mildly hurt by the unaffected way in which he'd told her she could go, but that they'd be looking for her. Not that she supposed, she should have expected him to care.

She thought about this for a moment, and let out a long sigh. Her life was ruined. Gang members were crawling the city looking for her. They wanted to kill her for her act of kindness, and the man she'd been kind to, apparently couldn't care less. What the hell was she going to do? Move to Florida? That seemed like an option.

Sair noticed her silent. "What?" He made the very stupid mistake of then asking, "What's wrong?" After all, to him this was normal. It wasn't a change, it wasn't a surprise. He'd gotten used to it.
"My life is ruined." She groaned, and in her somewhat unstable mind at the moment, it was all his fault. She shook that thought away as quickly as it had come. No, she would not hold a grudge for something she'd chosen to do, herself. He had not MADE her help him.

Still, he was in the same boat she was, how could he not care? She supposed maybe it would be harder to kill him, then it would be to kill her though, he had less to worry about.
