Sair woke up early. He got to his feet and looked through the kitchen to find cereal, a bowl, spoon and milk. Then he sat down and had breakfast for himself. He ditched the empty bowl in the sink afterwards and made his way to the door. He did have money to go get, after all. So, quietly, he left.
Ariadne, again, was not surprised to find that he;d left before she'd woken up, and had also helped himself to her hard earned food. With a sigh she did his dishes, and began to make herself breakfast. Next time, she wasn't going to open the damned door. She would not allow herself to become the pushover who let hooligans take over her house.

She didn't need to open the door; when he left, he'd left it unlocked. So this time, it was perhaps an hour or two later, and he opened the door without giving a single knock. Well, that's kind of how he was. He did what he wanted to do. "Hey." He tossed a ten dollar bill onto the counter. "Should cover the food I ate."
Ariadne looked up from her stack of paperwork, again sprawled out along the floor. She hadn't been expecting his return, hadn't realized the door was unlocked. She was very surprised to see that he was bringing her money to cover the food. Very surprised. Didn't seem like something he would do. "Th-thanks.." She answered. She didn't quite know what else to say. Perhaps he wasn't trouble through and through...

Sair rolled his eyes and shrugged, then turned and left. And that was when sirens went off outside the house. Cops. There was a big fuss outside as, no doubtedly, Sair tried to fight them. Of course he would. He always did.

Apparently, one of Ariadne's neighbors had called the cops, thinking Sair had broken into her house and held her captive.
Ariadne ran to her window when she heard the sirens, and peered out, cops. She ran to her door, and yanked it open, yelling after him. "What did you do this time?" God, if he'd led the cops to her door because he was evading some kind of criminal charge, she would probably murder him.

Sair was being wrestled into cuffs. "I didn't do anything, damnit! I came outside and the cops were here!" He pulled against the cops, then got slammed against the car as punishment while they finished securing the cuffs. "All I did while I was gone was get some money from home, just like I said I was gonna do! D'you really think I could do crimes in just an hour or two- ...don't answer that."
Mrs, Johnston, Ariadne's nosy neighbor had made her way to Ariadne's side. "It's okay now dear, the man is being arrested. I saw him break into your house. Ariadne groaned. So that's what he'd done. Nothing.

Ariadne was at a bit of a moral impasse now. Hadn't she wanted the man arrested not too long ago? Still,he was technically innocent of any wrong doing at this moment. She let out a long sigh. Damn she was a push over.

"Officer, excuse me..."

Sair still struggled a little bit, frowning. The officer looked at Ariadne. "Yes, ma'am? Did he hurt you? We're going to have to take a full report." He gestured to the car, speaking to his other officers. "Get him in and take him downtown." Sair frowned and struggled against the cops. "Get off of me, you damn pricks!"
Ariadne shook her head. "No!no he was just visiting. My neighbor totally overreacted...I...I told him to just come in when he got here....over...over the phone."

Sair looked at Ariadne, surprised. The cop looked at her carefully. "Well...alright. If you say so. Let 'im go, men." Sair was released and the handcuffs were removed. He rubbed his wrists and glanced at her. "Thanks, Ariadne, for helping clear this up." He wanted to play along with the guise that they were friends.
Ariadne, keeping with the guise, played along as well. "No problem bud, sorry Mrs. Johnston called the coppers on you." She turned to the officer.

"Sorry for the mistake. Me and my friend will go inside now."

Sair smiled, faking it. He didn't want to, really didn't want to smile at her. But he just followed her inside, sitting down on the couch. "I can't believe your freaking neighbor called the cops on me!" He groaned slightly and rubbed his chest a little, sighing. It hurt from the struggle.
Ariadne smiled apologetically, though she was currently trying to decide if she'd made the right choice in letting him go free.

"Yeah sorry about that...just.." She trailed off. She'd wanted to tell him not to make her regret her decision, but she supposed that wasn't a fair assumption.

After a few long moments of silence, Sair spoke again. "...I guess...thanks. You could've let the cops take me off, but...you didn't." He glanced at her. "I guess the question is...why?" He didn't understand. She knew he was trouble, she knew he picked fights, almost hurt her, practically forced entry into her house, etc. So why didn't she let him get hauled away?
Ariadne didn't really have an answer for his question. "Temporary insanity." was the best she could come up with.

Sair smirked, giving a slight chuckle. "Yeah, that makes sense." He got to his feet and checked the window. "Once the cops leave, I'll head off."
Ariadne nodded. She went back to her paperwork spread along the floor. She was writing up accident reports, documenting the different cases in which she'd been called out, in the last four weeks. It was tedious work, so she always left it to the last minute, then had to spend days playing catch up at the end of the month.

Sair watched as she worked. "..what are you doing? What's with all the paperwork? You some sort of legal representative or something?" He sighed and sat down, watching her. It was boring. "How can you live with doing that? It's ridiculous."
Ariadne shrugged. "I only have to do it once a month. They're reports. Im a paramedic." What did he think she was, a lawyer who just happened to know how to stitch knife wounds?
