(IC thread here.)
I don't have much to say on this right now. Its one of my experimental sand box situations; there isn't much set at all, except that it is a medieval, fantastical setting where demons appear inexplicably in the darkness at night to haunt those bold enough to leave their homes while the moon is out. The demons do not conform to many standards; some are simply spirits occupying the bodies of the deceased while others are traditional demonic beings and others are spirits. They hate things you would expect; holy scriptures, silver, iron, fire and water. They are enigmatic, except for the shared thought that the only good human is a dead one. Most do not reason with humans; many people think the creatures incapable of civilized speech, though its anyone's guess.
Though I mentioned a nation, the idea for this rp was largely meant for a wilderness setting. If you want you can set your own towns or cities nearby, though if you do that you should clarify with others on this thread regarding your vision of the town before you post for sure. I'm not feeling terribly picky about it but if large changes are to be made it should be run by the (prospective) other rpers first to see if its ok.
Also hello.

Also hello.
I read through the posts and I am fairly interested in joining this story. I just wanted to let you know before doing anything. I also wanted to ask. Was your character meant to be alone in their boat? Or could I have my character with them? I don't want to have anything happen that could take away from your plan if you had one.
Thanks for asking.
Usually my Tara travels alone, but is not cold towards her fellow traveler. So if Ira needed to get somewhere or just wanted the added security of being a body of water away from spoopers my character would offer help. So she could in fact be on the boat already.

I made a post in the thread. I'm a little out of it today but I hope it came out alright ^^
What kind of setting do we have here iltheyn?
- islands with dense forestry? pirate den, small old village in the midst with a tavern etc
- rocky high mountains with steep pass, some rivers in between kind of Skyrim thing?
- standard elf kind of forest, mostly flat terrain with tons of overgrowth and trees, dense plants etc?
- Camelot kind of setting with a big city surrounded by tall walls and everything beyond that wild forest? perhaps a sandy path at most?

NP Ira. I was out of it when I made that post too. 3 am and drugged up on benadryl.
Somewhere between the skyrim deal and the elf forest. Coniferous forest with a decent amount of rivers and some swamps. My inspiration was my own imagination of germanic forests way back in the iron age. So of course I imagine this playing in the background the entire time. Falkreath ish?
...The forest in the vid is a decent example. But its night time. For some reason I always start rps at night.

I was thinking of Valenwood, actually, when I was replying. The big trees and such. I always imagined Ira to be in a similar setting.
This sounds fun, but I am just trying to envision where and who, if any, of my characters would fit into this setting.
If it seems impossible to insert a character in the same woods Ira and Tara are hanging out in its ok to start a separate scene nearby, perhaps in a more accommodating situation. Also I've only seen a bit of Valenwood from ESO so I don't have too much a frame of reference for it, but the idea of a setting similar to that has been bouncing in my head for a while now; its funny you should bring it up.
As it stands I really like taigas. I wish NJ were more Taiga-y, though we have our fair share of conifers to be certain.
Edit: In my brain they're waiting on the lake because Tara'd been using rivers to get around, and has already gotten as close as she can to their destination. Its just a matter of waiting out the night and hoping for the best.
Edit 2: Here is a hopefully helpful reference about the boat. I know its modeled after a longship, not a boat, but I call it boat because its supposed to be smaller. Idk if I actually got that across effectively. Also the oars work differently; they're connected by cords so that they correspond if a pair is taken but can also be used separately if desired... though I'm not fully fleshed out on the way it works yet. Maybe additional rope that you can manipulate to move another pair of oars with your feet? Also, because of how big the oars are it takes a lot of strength to move.

Go right ahead!
I like the design. For some reason I was thinking about a canoe even though a mast was mentioned, haha.
Usually I like to wait a few days for folks to post but when getting an rp off the ground I find its better to keep it going, so tomorrow I'll post again and see if I can push the opening plot right along an exciting path.
I wanted to mention again that this rp is going on at night, so you could have another scene at daytime to eventually meet up with other characters but if Robin and friends are traveling by day they wouldn't see two folks lingering by the lake just yet. Not unless there was a time skip. Was that the intent?

@iltheyn ... I editted my reply to align the timings
Its np, I make mistakes like that all the time. Especially lately! All over the place.
thanks for pointing it out ... and it's great to RP with you again !
From my part as primary characters I am bringing
druid Sabine
Celtic / viking warrioress Tatiana
a runaway chieftain's daughter
Sorcereress Alecto
the local lord's daughter
band of bandits
Picture left to right... (Matthew, Rufus, Robin, Haldor, Glendale, Bart)

I don't think I'm up for this one after all. Don't have any experience fighting demon monsters xD but have fun fun fun!
I'm not sure I'm any good at actually fighting monsters myself.
Worse case I will go for the duck and take cover. Evade the monsters situation rather than outright fight them, or summon a protective wall sort of thing, till the morning. I will play by ear and see how it goes

Well to be honest there isn't any single way to do it. I've kinda let the definition be vague so that if anyone happens to want to be a night bound fomorian or something they're allowed to.
Edit: Posted!

Seems interesting. Like plot. But... Can people only play as human? Or are they allowed be something else?
