It's been a full year since the endeavors of 5th anniversary Week Of Mayhem, the most devastating to the game Bullet Fuse. Causing such a chaotic storm that destroyed the known Paradise In Hell, city Oasis. It's downfall came from the monster that was defeated by the Five (although unlikely) Heroes Of Oasis and the mass chaos of PVP combat. Leaving the town in shambles.

A month after W.O.M, a large update was released for Bullet Fuse, releasing the new pack Heaven's Star. Revealing both a new race of beings called Obsidai, that only a select number of players were allowed to become, a new city bigger and better then ever, and a few extra areas, missions, skills, and other little things

From the chaos arose unique city built by the alien race The Obsidai using ancient and lost technology, the new city was named Paradiso, (Translated from Italian Paradise.) The difficulties started soon after, fighting broke out between Androids, humans, and chimeras on who controlled Paradiso. Which resulted in the Paradiso Treaty. Leaving the Obsidai as nobles and royalties, left untouched by the common folk with riches, better housing, and etc. Also from this fighting a new government was formed, instead of the old Marketplace casting system, a guild based council was formed. With an official military guild of Paradiso. Only the five strongest guilds can main as the council's head. It is possible for other guilds to challenge them, but it's highly uncommon. Due to this governmental system, they also monopolized all extra rare and epic gear for their military, forcing low leveled mechanics and scientist to either change classes (through paid tokens) or struggle on the streets. There is hope of getting super rare gear by either gathering it from a drop, or "illegally" in the Outlands.

Either way, the world has gone from an apocalyptic lawless world, to a dystopia runned by a maniac government who monopolize, steal, and kill for the sake of their own ass.

Silent has been gone for almost half a year before returning back to game. He became a lot more active. Nano has been on during his absence. Her popularity rose after the Week of Mayhem and many sought to learn from her channel. Nano has gotten around half a million subscribers and thousands of people watching everyday. She began receiving gifts and mails, all of which she replied with full of hearts. Herself was considered one of the strongest players. In terms of being a tank, top notch.

During Silent's absence, a large wanted poster was placed on multiple taverns and guild houses for the information and capture of Silent, worth a large sum of money that practically make several people Obsidai status(race not included). His house was tore into shambles during the week. What's left of it was the basement been cleared out before hand and the only thing left behind was the Avenger Gatling gun, which was later taken by the top guild and mounted on a sentry turret that overlooks their base. The device however can be still shut down by Silent and was not able to be removed, as such will cause the weapon to be inoperable. Akane Stella was harassed for the first few weeks during the hunt of Silent. As her creator, many sought that she may knew where he was and the rest of the vault of weapons. Though....it ended quite badly for the harassers.

It's been almost a full year that anyone met Silent. Every transaction he did with his clients was not himself but rather through a NPC he built. Only till recently did he allow other people meet face to face but those were rare occasions as wanted poster was still around. His work became legendary and priceless. Sold in insane amount of money. No amount of weapons from the NPCs or other gunsmiths can be up par to it.

Wicked had kept to the shadows, only a year had passed and suddenly chimera weren’t the most hated race in the game now. He took full advantage of this fact and made contacts with a large number of players as well. Why he’d even built himself quite a fallowing in the bad lands.
Though admittedly there were days when he missed being that lone thief in the market places of the Oasis.

But it’s not like he’d forgotten the place, on the contrary. He’d made a home amongst the ruins along with a few of his friends.
Most of all though, he was known for his very capable armor. A material as thin and soft as silk, yet as hard as metal.
Of course with the addition of the Obsidai over the past year he had to update it quite a bit to be marginally resistant to their advanced weponry.

It was a highly sought after material and did quite well in market. Though he was the only known maker now seeing as Arachnie had died three months after W.O.M.

Though he keeps most of it to himself and his colleagues these days as he prefers to keep amongst others of his race preferably. Some times he does wonder though, what happened to the others who were with him that day.

Paradiso. The player-run city that never sleeps. Obsidian spires rise to blend with the starless night. Sharp architecture is the name of the game, from the elite high-rise penthouse to the common corner Mod-shop. There's something alluring about it all, something alien. Otherworldly. Despite that aura, the squares are packed with all sorts of wordly trash. Well, almost all. Humans, Android, even Chimera are welcome to do business and sell their loyalty to the highest bidder. The only ones missing are those who'd built the city itself...

Well, those are usually pompous snobs all uppity that they got lucky. Who cares about them anyway?


PARADISO STREETS, NIGHT


On a busy street like any other, a pair of flip flops flopped on the alien stone sidewalk. Long, slender legs strut casually with no elegance or hurry whatsoever. A skin tight body suit wrapped from neck to toe, a stark white wintercoat coming down to the hips. The woman had her hands buried in the pockets.

A hoverboard sped past. O30 was sent coughing and cursing after being slapped by a wave of exhaust heat. "Watch it $#@%%*!"

Its neon green mohawked rider cackled as he sneered back, "Keep that language family friendly, luv!"

"Bull#@&$..." A .45 auto-handcannon was whipped out and primed in one swift motion.

"He's right, you know." A voice threw off her aim. The boarder disappeared behind a corner, his laughing echoing off into the ambient clamor of the city. O30 lowered her weapon, stuffing it back in her coat with disappointment. The players passing by were a bit disappointed too. Bloodshed within the city was rare and worth watching.

On the corner of O30's cyber-eye HUD, a cricket Chimera girl chirped in a nasally voice. The username displayed neatly below her read Jiminy. She was in a dark blue uniform, so clean and proper she could be mistaken for an Android player if it weren't for the ridiculously sized antennae sprouting from her verdant green forehead.

O30 rolled her eye. "I will always hate this filter. With every fiber of my being."

"Yes, keep letting everyone know by shouting expletives and get banned. I'm sure everyone will bum rush the forums calling for a change based on your horrible misjudgement."

"Shut it." She sighed, knowing it was pointless to complain.

"Don't talk to me like I'm some one off character you'll never talk to again in some dropped plotline!" The antennae shifted, the glassy black eyes somehow displaying loathing despite their inhuman design. "Listen to my advice. You're not going to get anywhere in the Enforcers if you don't play nice. We're, uhh, the embodiment of playing nice? Got it?"

"Yeah yeah..." O30 crossed a street, passing ammo upon ammo shops offering discounts and deals. Those without a fat CLOSED sign were run by top of the line guilds. He saw the same names repeat and repeat everywhere he looked."God I miss old Oasis. This place is too clean. Too controlled. Too... peaceful... Yuck. It makes me sick. I wanna shoot something in my SHOOTING game."

"If you don't want to be a peace keeper, go blow up a building then!" The Chimera droned. "I'm sure there are plenty of Enforcer Gunners itching to put a bullet in that lovely face of yours. Plus, you can just go to Oasis if you really want to mayhem."

O30 ruffled through her bleached synthetic hair. "Just give me what you guys want this time. Someone needs to be found, I'm guessing? I know you wouldn't be calling if you didn't."

The Enforcer was silent for a moment. The loathing was never more intense. It reminded O30 of a special little head case from so long ago. This girl was a lot less fun to tease.

"His past username was Silent-"

O30 slowed to a stop on the sidewalk. A strange nostalgia came over as she went on.

"-I'm sure you've heard of him with the wanted posters and all. We have no idea what he goes by now if he's changed it, but we know he still plays. We've got intel he uses a butler NPC or of sorts to do dealings here in Paradiso. Go to these coords," A private message pinged on O30's inbox, "and get that NPC to talk. Be wary, Operator, he's a slippery one. Not that I care if you die horribly or not. You'll be compensated as usual if you succeed in his capture. Enforcer, out."

The channel went dead.

A wry smile blossomed. Seems it did pay off to ditch that old character. O30 hadn't anything better to do today. Why not hit up an old WOM-bud from the days of glory?

A Trio of wheels beat down a winding route of gold dust. Plateau's rested on the glowing horizon between rolling dunes and vibrant pink sky. Winds licked the dunes, whipping the windows of the PE-Scout with desert sand as it blazed a trail through derelict territory.

The guild-owned vehicle’s occupant steered with a foot, focus split on navigating a map projection and not crashing the cheap buggy. The topography of the area, like many desert zones in gaming history, were bland and confusing as hell to get any bearings. The dunes all looked the same. The shrubbery is too small and sparse to be landmarks. The only sense O30 had she was making progress was the mountain drifting closer every few miles. She had to rely on the tiny blip on the map crawling towards the waypoint to know she was making some semblance of progress.

“Is this right?” O30 mumbled. “I thought it’d be a bit closer to city limits than this worm infested graveyard. Lead better be good, Jimi.”

With the glaringly hot afternoon arriving, she came to park at an abandoned villa. Holes as wide as the PE Scout’s length littered the arid ground. Broken sandstone structures bore the same holes as they stood dilapidated and abandoned. The place was a ghost town.

The map pinged a delightful tune at having arrived at its destination. The ruins weren’t named. Perfect little cubbyhole to deal dirty deals and have a better chance at staying quiet. Or Silent, one should say in this situation. O30 cringed at her own inner thoughts… and with that, went to scouring the place. Emptied chests, dusty basements, a couple skeletons. Not a soul in sight, NPC or player alike. There wasn’t even traps or explosives going off as she crept about.

“What gives? I am NOT staking out this place to wait for someone to show. Some wanna-be, detective roleplayers have time for that. I ain’t one of them.”

Her voice carried in the stillness. She stood tall in the emptied square of the town, sun beating down enough to raise internal temperatures by a whopping sixth of a degree. She didn’t sweat a drop as she looked up to the mountain now closer than ever. There was a path leading out, most likely ending at its base. O30 shrugged. Why not?

One long walk on the beach later, and she was left even more confused and disappointed.

“Nothings here...” She said as she again climbed out of her buggy, “...except?”

A cave’s gaping mouth stared at her. It looked completely natural, no readings of radio or electronic signals of any kind emanating from it. Heightening her sound sensors for a moment, she found there weren’t even the slight chirps of bats. Completely…

“Silent.” O30 shook her head. It was very hard for her to decide whether she was on the right track or completely wasting her time. Either way, she’d find out.

She set the PE-Scout to autopilot circles in the dunes until a sandworm ate it. It drove off along with what ever bugs and tracking devices the Enforcers install in their vehicles.
Inside the cave, nothing really stood out until the very end. Using a mundane pen-flash light, O30 discovered a couple rocks jutting out of the wall. They weren’t too noticeable. She wouldn’t have thought much of it if she were dealing with another player. But, low and behold, they made clicking sounds when pressed.

“Bingo.”

Press press press. Nothing happened. There must’ve been a code to it, one obviously not known to her. This wasn’t that decades old Skyrim game either, there wasn’t any obvious code to look at for the answer. This was a player made password built into the world… by one of the three most Bullet Fuse’s most elusive players.

“Yeah, I don’t have time for this either.”

The plastic rock-cover of one button ripped off rather easily, at which point a few alarms rang.

Multiple sentry turrets revealed themselves from the ceiling of the cave system. A protective shield protected the gun from frontal attacks. They're normal guns, not plasma or the like. The lasers pointed at various points of O30 before a system com came on. It was a woman's voice, "Who's are you? You look familiar."

"Woah!" The android put her hands up. Normally, she'd think to be dead about now for brute forcing a security system, but alas a familiar voice came instead.

"Ah, Nona. What's up!" O30 waved a little at the turrets, unsure where the camera was hidden that the famous streamer was watching from. She bit her lip suddenly, adding: "...wait, sorry sorry. It was Nano was it? With the 'Nano' Shield shtick and all that? It's been a while since I've watched any streams... Anyways. Yeah, " She pointed above herself, displaying her name tag, "Playing a chick for kicks this go round, but you recognize the horrible name, right? It's me! G30. Just popped in a new letter and bam. It's a pretty brilliant name, I know. Makes one helluva cute emoticon when you read it, don't ya think?"

Meanwhile, in the peaceful city of Paradiso

Cheshire has had her eyes on this hit for awhile, great outcome pay, even greater thrill of the hunt, and inevitably another "debt" fulfilled. She is in the business of murder, and business is good. She waited for the inevitable change of time, Paradiso had a smaller daytime setting due to the aesthetic of the nighttime city. so it was easier for an infamous bounty hunter maneuver through the streets of Paradiso. Especially when she is wearing a hooded cloak that covered her military leather bodysuit, with all its straps. Making her way into an abandoned obsidai spiral tower, she set up a few parting gifts of a pyrotechnics designs on the lower floors. Cost some real money for these. After doing so, she made her way up to the roof.

When arriving to the objective position, high upon one of the many obsidian spiral towers. Boy do the obsidai love their towers. Well, it gives her an eagle eye view. It's actually quiet nice up here, it's quiet and peaceful, much like touching the tip of heaven. Paradise..... and she's bored of it. She threw her cloak back enough to get on one knee, reopening the message she had received after accepting the hit.

Dear, Bounty Hunter.
I appreciate for you accepting my little assignment. And..... oh god this is cliche, okay imma just tell you what you gotta do. First, you gotta find this location. Obsidai Spiral tower with the hotrod ad. K, and at a specific time and place attached to this file I need you to kill first general Killdozerz. He runs the gun legislation part of the army, making sure the laws are running and etc. give him a good ol shot in the head for my shop! But this has to be done during his speech, I want the public to know that we aren't just gonna give ourselves up to this crappy society! Afterwards rendezvous at this place also attached here. Make sure your unfollowed. Well exchange pay and be on our way.


Right, simple hit and run target. Lovely. She opened her Eco Transporter Armory System (or E.T.A.S) and materialized her gun Red Queen. What a lovely beauty. Still fine as ever, ranking the top of the charts as one of the most powerful bullet based sniper rifles. And she has the only one. After taking her gun she got herself into position. Taking to be low to the ground, her gun set up and ready, searching for her prey.

She applied her metallic mask to her face, the full face had a screen that revealed a Cheshire like glowing toothy grin in bright purple, where the eyes were revealed bright purple led lights. Glowing in the darkness, it was her calling card after all, might as well use it. Besides, this mask doubled as a great many other things, including sonar, heat detection, and yes targeting aiming assist. So it's efficient, and aesthetically pleasing.

She scanned the streets before, bingo. In front of the Gun Bank. Which wasn't a bank at all, but a market place. A mass of people stood infront of a stage with a podium, guards posted around it, watching carefully. Foolish children, looks like a bunch of mid levels. Unlucky for them if they get in her way, which they will. No job ever runs truly smoothly anymore, not without those enforcers. Now is not the time to focus on that, now is the time to be patient and wait for her target.

After literally ten minutes of waiting, the man approached. He looked like an older man, late 40s, grey hair and grey bearded. But by no means was he unfit, considering his role was a heavy weapons gunner he was built. He wore a suit of armor that normally would make him large and intimidating. She's killed bigger. She waited for him to get infront of the podium. Which takes him a long time, is he. Trying to be flashy about this? Dear god her trigger finger is itching. After an aching long amount of time for him to get to point a to the podium. He stands, ready and firm. And then he speaks. Not for long though.

BANG

Mr. Killdozers face is now been scattered in at least several directions. Including all over a nearby guard. Ew, gross. Cheshire stood up slowly and turned. Using the masks' sonar direction, she can hear footsteps already coming up to her position. No doubt in her mind Enforcers. She dematerialized her weapon and waited. Slowly walking herself to the edge of the rooftop. Voices could be heard from the other side of the door.

"One two three!"

The door comes down with a swift kick from a lieutenant. Nothing impressive, smalll fire arms gunner, typical enforcer getup. Not very high ranked in terms of their guild. He has a few other enforcers with them, rifle users, and a demolistiomist. Lovely.

Cheshire, with her glowing led purple cat like face gave a small salute before swan diving off the edge of the roof. On her way down, she clicked a button on her cybernetic arm, and then the building goes up in smokes, collapsing it on its own unsupported weight. Poor kids are gonna get stuck outside of gaming, not her problem.

She used her grappling hook to make her escape. The purple led mask glittering in the dark like a tiny star as she flies, cloak fluttering aggressively.

"Time to make for the rendezvous point."

It wasn't Nano's voice per se....The guns retracted back onto the ceiling and a cover was placed over it as camo. A large section of the wall moved aside. Layers upon layers of doors slide open, leading down a corridor. At the end was a vault like steel door that opened, revealing a normal steel door. Once O30 walked in, the layer doors starts to close up behind her, then the vault door. The normal steel door open. Silence looked at O30 and gestured her to walk in. TheSilenceWind was her username, which was similar to Silent's which was TheSilentMaker. Silence was in her workout clothes. If there was a sweat function, it seemed she was working out earlier. One on each side of the waist was a sword handle but without the blade or guard. The Solar Flare were the words written on it. Her black hair was tied back into a ponytail with a bang hanging off each side of her face. She wore semi-rimless black glasses. The glasses and the handle were both black, Obsidai technology. "Should've said your name earlier, would've let you in regardless. Come on in." She would close the steel door behind O30.

Behind the door was a large living room and kitchen. At the far end were also multiple rooms and corridors. The living room had a training room, which seemed to be where Silence was training earlier. Near the door was a weapon rack, assault rifle shape, Obsidai textured. There were other equipment each and there, mainly defensive equipment. The room next to the living room was the gunsmithing room, but not the main one.

"So, what are you doing here?" Silence said as she walked toward the kitchen, "And you want something to drink?"

No Man's Land

A lone figure stood up from their crouch, fully materializing in the hot sun. Their clothing looked brand new- black pants, gloves, armored chestplate and boots. It might as well been. The player had only a week of experience in the game.

It had been a year.

If anyone had been there, they would have instantly recognized the person as one of the Heroes of Oasis. The exact clothes, the burgundy eyes matched.

Except... maybe not.

Because it was not a female, but a male standing amongst the rocky terrain, scanning the empty landscape. Pale skin, and black hair in an undercut would have thrown off anyone who thought to try and connect Spes with the male.

The name was different as well. The username Leka flashed above him before fading, leaving him to start trudging a path towards a new city.

He walked, rubble crunching beneath his boots, ignoring the way each stone seemed to try and make him slip, make him trip, break his ankles. He would have deserved it, he figured, but he couldn't make things better by taking himself out of commission.

He walked on. The sun blazed over the land, and he was somewhat glad that he still retained his crop top. A trickle of sweat ran down his temple. He pushed aside the blurriness of his vision, shaking his head. He idly wondered if he took his testosterone for the day.

And NOTHING-

He stepped on nothing and he fell, pebbles free falling with him as he scrabbled onto the outcrops he landed and rolled off of, hitting more jagged rocks until he-

THUD-

-hissed,
rolling on his back and gasping for air. Scratches littered over exposed arms, a pale stomach, ripped through pants. He shifted and he pursed his lips, suppressing the yowl that threatened to tear through his throat. Broken ribs- at least three.

$#&%. He forced himself to roll and grasp a rock jutting out from the nearby wall. Pain shot through his ankle.

Oh god, he thought.

He lifted himself up anyways, the occasional swear and groan and whimper echoing in the dark cavern. By the time he propped himself up against the wall he was a shaky, pale mess, a mix of sweat and tears staining the ground.

At least he was up.

Not for long, he knew. He hunched over, limping along the wall, leaning heavily every few seconds before he pushed on. He hoped to find a way out. He avoided thinking about how painful the climb up would be.

He entered another chamber and... he blinked, eyes raking over the contraption sitting upright in the middle of the room. It was a sleek, solid black oval, hollow, atop of smooth circular sheets- steps, it seemed, of the same color.

A healing pod?

He couldn't see what else it could be. Sharp stabs of pain originating from the torso and leg reminded him of his desperate situation.

The small cavern lit up as he limped up the stairs, a language he'd never seen before blending smoothly with elaborate technological design. Almost faint, the last thing he remembered was seeing the reddish glow of the chamber, a glimpse of his own half-dead face-

And-

And-

Black.


He woke up.

And promptly collapsed unto the cool stone floor, arms catching the brunt of the fall. He got up, a tad more steady than before... and paused.

Hi- his arms weren't supposed to be black.

His armor looked... different? All black, with little red crystals in some places and oh god he had glowing red markings all over his skin.

A transparent... thing flopped over his eye (he could see... wider...) and he held it up and almost died because it looked kind of like a fin and he could feel it pull against his head.

He gulped. What the hell did he look like?

He whirled around- and stepped back, burgundy eyes wide and black mouth shaped in a shocked little 'o.'

His tail snapped against the floor.

... Holy $#&% he had a £&€¥ing tail.

His... tail waved side to side, before hovering an inch above the ground. Prehensile.

What... the £&€¥ was he?

The pod flickered, then popped out of existence. The words GLITCH ;D was the only thing left to prove its previous existence.

Silence.

"... Well, $#&%," he said.


It was a long trek.

Even with his new form- faster, more graceful, easily skipping over the rocks and boulders and sneaky little pebbles- he noticed that his endurance was lower than before. This time, he went ahead and read up on everything he'd missed out on in Bullet Fuse while he was on hiatus.

A stupid move to not do so before logging in, he admitted readily to himself.

Apparently all kinds of $#&% went down and now there was an oppressive government run by aliens known as the Obsidai. And, lucky him- he's one of them now. The most envied- or hated, actually- race in Paradiso. Figures.

He looked over his stats again. He sighed.

He'll need a mask. And a cloak.


Outskirts of Paradiso

The road to making amends will not be easy.

He pulled the hood up. He clutched the mask in his hands.

But I... I NEED to do this.

He slipped the mask on.

And I won't stop until I do.

O30 whistled along her stroll of the concealed complex. "Comfy place. So homely. I could almost forget I'm in an apocalypse simulator in here. Wait. No. There goes the weapon racks."

The amount of security was just as expected. Admirable. The amount of paranoia was definitely warranted. It was the training room which threw her for a loop, but it made this Silence player's attire make sense. It was rare to see anyone bother to work out a virtual body. Especially with limb augments so abundant for Human players. An Android player like O30 was definitely one to judge wasting so much time on physical training, but she kept that to herself. There were bigger subjects to get to.

She got comfortable on a stool, flexing synthetic muscles that neither tired nor needed stretching. "I just wanted to stop by, ya know? See if the rumors that Silent was making a comeback were true. I don't know. I've been playing on-and-off ever since we partied back then, and let me tell you those days were the peak of this game's life. Bullet Fuse went to $%@&, lemme tell ya. Paradiso is all snobby elitists running a monopoly over everyone else. Ya can't even fire off pot-shots into the sky without being slammed with a fine. A fine! In a video game. And if you don't pay it, ya get a bounty on your head worth a poor player's fortune. And don't get me started on..."

O30 continued on like this for some time. She was just as talkative, if not more so than last they met.

"... and that's how I got into this Enforcer gig. Takes months to rank up in this thing. They at least led me here. Oh, I ain't broadcasting anything or wearing a wire, granted I'm made of wires. Pop me some soda. Dr. P, if you're carrying..."

"Oh? It is that bad in the city? I didn't know" Silence said as she wiped the sweat off her. She sat across from O30 and listened on. She might make comments here and there. She got up and grabbed the soda for O30. By the comments she make, it was sounding like she's Silent....if it wasn't the fact that the actual Silent, walked over from the far end room, "Oh. G30. Welcome. Sorry for the wait, I was doing something. Is there something you need?" Two players? At once? No foul play. Nano isn't on, nor can she act and speak like Silence. It's impossible....unless.....she's a new player. Which begs the question..... Who's Silence?

O30 blinked a bit, completely thrown off. She sipped her Dr. P noticeably more quiet as she looked between the two. She double checked the usernames. That yielded no help, they were practically the same! Wait a minute...

She looked to the woman. "You're not... Nano. Way less energetic. Yeah, so... Wha- but- huh?" Her arms outstretched to the both of them for answers. "Okay. What's goin' on. This girl is a player, right? She recognized me. You both recognize me. Silent, what's goin' on here?"

Cheshire arrived at the rendezvous point, nothing entirely special in it's design. A small diner in the middle of nowhere, perfect for little do conversation, dealings, and etc. The NPCs here are made to make a blind eye, almost as if the designer of the game planned this programming. Either way, the Burger Monster remained a perfect location to settle deals.

Cheshire sat in one of the far back booths. Her ripped black cloak laying gently in the seat next to her. Now, her full black with purple lining military body suit was revealed, with straps along the mid torso, arms, shoulders, waist, and thighs. All for either carrying weapons, or holsters for pouches for unknown reason. Maybe just aesthetics. The left sleeve was completly torn off, to give space for her cybernetic limb. her legs are completely covered by the semi baggy bodysuit, feet covered in black combat boots. These same feet have also perched themselves on the table, her arms crossed and her face looking down. Patiently waiting for the client to get here.

10 minutes late. A set up. Marvelous.

After being 10 minutes late, the client, a tall slender man, highly anxious and shaky in his movement. Bloody hell, if you're going to set Cheshire up be more confident.

"Sorry I'm late, I ran into some things. Anyways, I got your money like you wanted." He breathed out, as if he ran all the way here.
"I will not accept your apology. But, however, I will accept your money." Cheshire sat up, grabbing at the suitcase, opening it to reveal the in game credits neatly stacked. After observing it for a quick second she closed the suitcase.

BOOM

The doors came flying down in a loud crash. Enforcers entering in whatever crevasse they can like vermin coming for forgotten food. Each gun cocked itself, ready to open fire upon the hitman in a moment's notice. simple set up, melee and tanks in front, gunners behind them. Snipers and heavy weapons outside. Medics, techs, and etc. As well as some assassins lurking.

Cheshire chuckled quietly and stood up, slowly, not enough to mean any harm. When she stood up, she was standing straight and tall with her hands by her side. A smile written on her battle scared face. Probably done via the character editor.

"You know, you made a grave mistake kid." Cheshire hissed out the last word, long and dangerous.
The said kid, who was the client also stood up, retrieving a pistol holstered to his hip. "Oh, yeah what's that?"
"You didn't bring enough guns." With a sudden click, hell began.

Bullets flew in every direction, some from the enforcers, most from Cheshire. Her weapons changing every five seconds due to her Gun Roulette Skill. A shotgun, then a machine gun, then twin pistols, and so on. Even rifles get thrown in the mix. She dances around the bullet storm caused by the enforcer like some sort of graceful ballerina, one after another in bloody bits they fall in the building. Gore splattering everywhere like some wrecked chaos.

After a solid five minutes of bullets flying, and brains splattering, it comes to a complete stop. Cheshire standing in the mist of the bloody wreckage, her outfit stained with the enemies blood, somehow not hit during that entire show. Outside, was going to be another situation though. Cheshire grabbed her cloak and placed it around her shoulders, the fabric covering her body. She then placed the hood up, and put on the infamous Cheshire Mask. The mask glowing it's bright purple Cheshire cat smile.

She spoke out, not in the usual dark sinister tone, no this one was more autotuned and masked. "Let's get this party started." And with that she threw the doors open.

Yep, just as she suspected, a crap ton of guns pointed at her, from mini guns, to rocket launchers, to obsidi experimental weaponry. You name the gun, it's probably in there. And they're all pointed at her. Charming.

"GIVE IT UP CHESHIRE, YOU'RE SURROUNDED!" yelled through a microphone, one of the generals. No not the guy whom she shot earlier, some other no name. That's not important. His next command, was however. "OPEN FIRE!"

The guns whirred, bullets fired, and rockets launched. In a split second reaction, Cheshire retrieved from her person a pocket watch, clicking on the top piece, time came to an agonizing crawl, slowing by the milisecond, before coming to a complete stop. The world lost all it's color, going grey. Anyone within a certain radius was stopped. Giving Cheshire plenty of time to set up a hailstorm of bullets. Taking out one of the more, heavy machine guns, she sprayed bullets in large waves, using some other guns in her inventory (including a rocket launcher) to add a finishing touch to this bloody blizzard. With her timer coming closer and closer to 0 on her pocket watch she used the cloak to make herself invisible and got on her bike to get a nice safe distance away.

10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0.

Time resumed, everything clawing it's way back into motion, and low and behold. Another chaotic storm ensued. With a ghost of a person who isn't there anymore. A good full minute of screams and explosions before nothingness but fire and blood laid in front of that dainty little burger joint. So many more to add to her kill count.

"This is definitely going to be on the news, well time to get back home." She restarted her motorcycle, kicking it ready and drove off into the sunset, her next location the Badlands, home.

"Well I had her look over the information of the people close to me. It was no laughing matter when I explained it to her" Silent said.

Silence took a glance at him before saying her part, "You see I am an actual player. I played with him when he was on a hiatus from this game. For short, I'm his friend....though if he did explain why he's stuck in a hideout like this earlier, I would probably not join this.....Hm, I guess it's fine. He kept replays of the week of mayhem, so I was able to recognize you."

He stepped into a bar.

He shuffled over to a corner, pulling his cloak closer to his body, careful to only show his gloves. Gods, he hated this. He had to swap his Obsidain clothes for something a little less revealing- and a lot more baggy. He scrunched up his nose.

As soon as he's in a safe place, he decided. He'll check out what he could do then.

But for now, he needed to actually find said safe place. Revealing himself was out of the question- no way was he going to be part of some tyrant race. Injustice. It irked him, disturbed something deep inside him that he'd tried so hard to control.

Breathe. Think later.

He eyed the device in his hand. He'd remembered inputting contact information from his former group mates. Silent seemed... well, silent. He didn't want to accidently compromise any defense he had against the authorities. Besides, he wasn't that close. That took out Nano, too.

He stopped at G30 and winced, looking away for a few seconds.

That left only Cheshire. He didn't know how open she would be to helping him, especially in his current state, but-

He remembered how she tried to settle him, back when he was... well. Angrier. Not him. He didn't forget.

He wondered if his Mayhem Week prize would be a good enough payment for her services. He... still had no idea what it was, but it should be good, right?

... Worth a shot. He typed up a short message and clicked send.

He exhaled, leaning back on his chair and on the wall.

Now to wait.

Well, was. I'm Leka now. And... and male. Always have been, who knew?

Cheshire was lounging about in her little crappy apartment in the Badlands. The smell of gunsmoke, and blood outside. Ah smells like home. The living room was lined with a massive amount of weaponry, guns of all types, even some non gunner type weapons stacked in the corners. The living room was connected to the kitchen, which obviously has seen it's better days. There was also two off rooms, one was the bedroom, and the other was a gym for her more biological limbs. In the living room was a dingy brown ugly couch, with a barely standing coffee table, that holds the bounty of her previous hunt gingerly onto of it. The box open to show the room the beauty of what 2 mil looks like.

Like she always said, never work cheap if you know you can get the job done.

Cheshire was wearing a purple crop tank top, that revealed her battle scar abs, she also wore black baggy cargo capri pants that cut off just before the ankles. Both of her feet were cybernetic, but only the left was all the way up to her knee. She also had signs of implants on her chest and back, nothing to particular. Brushing some of her signature whitish silver hair out of her face she sighed, sitting back and kicking her feet up on the couch, enjoying the relaxation.

That is until her message appeared a foot in front of her face. She held up her cybernetic hand and tapped open the holographic screen, revealing the message from Spe- No, Leka. A meet up? All the way out there? Bloody hell, no rest for the wicked.

She quickly typed out a response.

TO: LEKA

I'll be over in 5, stay frosty kid.

Cheshire retrieved her battle attire, putting it on in a hurry, grabbing her cloak she rushed out the door and onto her bike. Next stop, The Tinny Tavern. Maybe she'll get a much needed drink while she's there.

He must have dozed off, because seemed like only minutes before Cheshire strolled in, no anxiousness in the other player's steps.

She looked somewhat the same- military suit, dark cloak- the mask was new, though.

He froze.

No no no, he thought, fidgeting in his seat. No cold feet now. She was here, he didn't want to cause a scene, and whatever it doesn't really matter because if she says no she'll kill you and it'd be a scene anyway.

He let out a harsh breath. The least he could do was show that he was an honest person, he thought to himself. He checked over himself- still fully covered. All black and baggy, plain mask on his face- cloak covering everything else... like the tail...

... Right. No more stalling.

And with that, he got up and silently went over to where she was, the name Leka in full view, anonymity feature off.

He hated to admit it, but over the last year he had garnered a strange fallowing amongst new players who ranged widely as far as races went, though in all honesty most were chimera.

Whether they had joined him simply out of adoration for being a former hero of Oasis or just wanted to learn how to make a quick buck in this game he really didn’t care.

What did matter though, was that because of his strangely growing fan club of minor thrives. He’d gained valued connections and informants within all of the cities social circles....unfortunately including a few unsavory obsidi near the top of the social latter he’d rather not talk about.

He knew what was going on in paradiso at all times because of this. So imagine his suprise when he hears about a horribly one sided shoot out having happened in the middle of the day in paradiso. Who else but Cheshire, that clever kitty, could really do something so...reckless.

He could only smirk as he handed off a small card to the man before him. “Make sure you keep tabs on her and who she comes in contact with, I have a feeling that the other hero’s are still very much around.”

The other man, covered in a black hood to match his own flipped the card to examine it. On its face was only a picture of an emerald gem, wicked’s personal calling card. Acknowledging the mans words he flipped the card back over and ran off into the shadows and down the alley, wicked doing the same in the opposite direction.

"Oh." She relaxed again, leaning back into a position as if she were sitting at a bar she frequented. "Man. I thought you'd done something crazy like figure out how to mimic a player with A.I., or you were somehow playing two accounts. That'd be impossible," She waved the thought, "But you do crazy stuff all the time, so I didn't know what to expect. Nice to meet you then, Silence. I trust Silent showed you the best highlights of my exploits during WOM already." She sipped the soda like fine wine, obviously enjoying the opportunity to flaunt. "Those like Silent and me who made it through The Week are pretty infamous. I'm sure you already know. Can't do autographs, sorry. My original username isn't as sought after, but it'd still raise suspicion."

Her one visible eye flicked through her profile and stats. The gameplay time was incredibly odd. Only 4 hours? Must be a fresh character. That would explain the physical training. O30's focus was broken by the flashing call-request egging for her attention. It was her Enforcer contact, Jiminy. The subject line read: PICK UP NOW. Very odd for those stuck-ups to be so informal.

"Give me a sec." O30 dipped her head back, making sure video feed was cut on her end before accepting.

"Finally." The chimera had her arms crossed, already fuming. "I thought you'd died, by the readings on your vehicle. Where's your visual feed?"

"Oh, I'm kind of inside a sandworm right now. Ya know, out in the desert zone? Got swallowed whole while lookin' for our boy Silent." O30 lied through her teeth. Quite smoothly at that.

"Bull." The Enforcer narrowed her bug eyes on the projected feed.

"No, it's the truth. I'm not taking as much acid damage as I thought I would. Androids don't digest very well, it seems. I'm waiting to see if it takes me anywhere like an easter egg or-"

"Whatever. Look. A lot of $#@& is going down in Paradiso. Some Bigwig got his head blown off during an announcement on a new gun regulation, and a Spire was collapsed by foul-play. On top of that, around a ba-jillion Enforcers got involved in a failed Sting operation on the assassin who's behind all of this. They're all dead and gone for 3 whole days and that leaves a lot of vacancies. Congrats. You're being promoted. Now get down to Paradiso and do your job."

"What about finding your bounty?"

"We have bigger fish to fry. Chesire's the name on everyone's lips. You get any info, send it our way, Lieutenant. Enforcer, out."

The feed cut. The tall woman stood up, downing the last of her drink. "Ahhhh... I love virtual reality. No worries of gaining fat with a drink that's not real." She got a cocky smile about her. "Things are heating up all of a sudden. What do ya say? Tired of holding up in this mountain? I can show you two 'round the city before it catches fire... maybe we can light a few buildings for old times sake? Before Chesire has all the fun."
