And we get to do it all again when our American friends get together for their version of the holiday. It's nice to have staggered celebrations!

I agree! More holidays, more celebrations equals more smiles, me thinks. Besides, a small bonus that my birthday lands usually a day or two off of American Thanksgiving, and I celebrate that one as well because my husband is American. Small world.
Now that's a birthday/holiday overlap that works very well together... Christmas x Birthday, not so much, at least when it comes to getting the infamous present that counts for both. Big feast and family and presents sounds awesome!
Happy thanksgiving! I hope you got sufficiently turkey-stuffed! We went to my brother's place with about a dozen other people potluck-style, and of course my brother's friends are all crazy good cooks so we came home pretty much bursting at the seams. I think I'm going to be eating like a bird for the rest of the week.
