Conduits, heroes, villains, thugs or enforcers. Ever since Cole McGarth and the beast disaster Non-Conduits have shunned anyone that even resembles a conduit in any form completely ignoring the fact it was a CONDUIT that stopped the beast in the first place. That conduit was once a normal man, a friend, a brother and a lover. All the good he did, erased. He came in to this world a man and to me, he left a hero.
Sinclair ran into the closest store while being shot, a bullet hitting him square in the back. The piercing pain from the bullet penetrating his lungs caused him to stumble forward. He hid behind a shelf whilst his attackers moved in to get a clear view of the store.
Over the hail of bullets Sin heard a faint sobbing coming from a nearby isle. A little kid was stuck under a fallen shelf clearly seen by his attackers but they continued their assault.
He had 2 options, take the kid and run or forget him.
It was a kid... He had to try. Sin held out his hand towards the shelf on the kid. It seemed to turn to liquid and flow to wards Sin's hand seeping into his skin.
"think it, project it" he muttered to himself over the bullet storm. His hand began to glow silver as he focused. The kid hiding in the corner. Sin leaned around the shelf and swung his arm in a horizontal arc with his palm open towards the attackers a big thick black metal slab appeared from one end to the other in front of the store separating him and the shooters, bullets ricocheted off of it.
Sinclair took the boy by the hand and led him out the store through the back entrance. As soon as the boy saw the open pavement he ran as fast as his small legs could take him.
Sinclair tried to do the same but the half healed bullet wound in his back was met with a finger. Sinclair yelled out in pain toppling forward "Not so fast Con" said a woman's voice.
She followed with a metal rod straight through Sin's leg, he cried in pain falling to one knee. Sin could barely move, his shin smashed through the middle, blood pooling out from under it running along the rod's smooth surface.
"you're a traitor... Capturing and killing innocents" he said, his voice breaking when the pain got too great.
