Two soldiers, apparently on patrol, crowded around a small purple feather, investigating it. They were trying to find the source, a half demon, half angel. A race that was increasingly rare. From above a citizen watches, feeling safe that no monster could enter their home. Yet they spot movement not far off. The cause was yet another monster trying to cross the street, yet was yanked back into the darkness.
“Are you crazy! Your gunna get yourself killed! Their armed!”
A feminine voice said. She appeared to be in her teenage years. She was short, but had beautiful purple feathered wings folded neatly behind her. Her demon tail dragged on the ground behind her. She had slightly pointed ears and teeth. Her hair was long and orange/red, while her eyes were deep purple.
(The soldiers, citizen, and monster slots are open and can never be filled. Jump on in ppls. My character is the teenage girl, but her profile isn't compleatly up to date on her character just to let you know.)

The cold dark December air bit at Sinclair's face. It had just begun to snow which meant it would get colder in the coming days "another long night man" Sin said to Isaac. He removed 2 chocolate bars from his bag and offered one to Isaac. Being a soldier meant not being able to get as many sweet treats.
Today was a slow day, they only managed to bag 1 demon and killed a rampaging angel. When angels came down they got angry, they claimed to have fought so hard for their father and being sent to earth seemed like a punishment. It's only punishing when you go around causing mayhem. Some came to terms with it, some are bitter and some can't believe it still after all these years.
Sin just caught the feather in his peripheral vision "is that a nephilim feather?" he asked Isaac as if he knew already "aren't nephilim supposed supposed to be captured fir study?" he asked bending down to look at it closer.

A thick glove accepted the treat tentatively. Isaac held it in front of his helm, unsure if it was wise to unlatch it and expose himself for the delicious sweet. It was decided for him with the spotting of that little violet feather. The bar was stuffed nice and safe in a chest pouch, right next to a sheathed combat knife. The prior events with the angel left him queezy anyway.
"Another long night." Isaac echoed in agreeance. The stun rifle slung across his shoulder shifted as he tensed unconciously. The steel blue visor scoped out the shadows, covering his partner. "I wonder if its still nearby." A push of his radio made it blip where it rested on his breast. "Unit 14 reporting a code N05, signs of Nephelim on 16th and Southend. Investigating. Over." The radio clicked and sputtered. Isaac lowered the volume of the operators reply, and readied his weapon.

Volana watched from the ally she hid in. 'I can't believe I dropped my realm crystal.' She scolded herself. 'Now it's even harder to sneak around town without being able to transform into Midnight. Where are you anyway crystal?' 'In an ally, but otherwise I have no clue. I may be a a magic crystal, but I don't have any senses wider than yours.'
Volana held in her sigh. 'Whats the spell again?' 'Hideo.' 'Why do I forget the simplest of words.' 'Don't ask me.' "Hideo" Volana whispered under her breath. Her wings dissapeared along with her tail and horns. Now she appeared to be a normal girl. It was just in case the soldiers found her.
(heads up, but when I roleplay I use 'for telepathic comunication and thoughts' and "for talking outloud.")
The chocolate didn't tease her. She didn't need to eat or sleep unless she'd used her powers. 'Hey. Is Vicy near by?' 'No.' 'Pooey.'
(Oh and nephilim means fallen angels. Not half and halfs.)

Sin placed a hand on his sidearm, and picked up the feather with his other. He looked closely at it, observing such a rarity. It was smoother than anything he had ever felt.
"copy that ground patrol, continue with caution" the operator replied "Sometimes i get jealous of how easy radio operators have it, most of them haven't even gotten their hands dirty" he tsk'd, placing the feather in a plastic evidence bag and tucked it into his pocket.
Sin just barely heard Volana, readyng his sidearm "did you hear that?" he whispered to Isaac pointing his gun at the directions he thought he heard her voice.

Isaac gave the skyline of rooves a once over. "I don't envy them, really. I mean have you heard the older ones? Down right dead inside they're so bored, stuck in their desks."
Nothing sprung out of the concrete jungle immediately. Isaac allowed himself to steal a glance at the item, which turned into a long gaze. It was beautiful. Alien. It shined so vividly with such little light down here, like an amethyst resting their in Sin's glove.
The greenhorn tore away from it at his partner's warning. He'd barely heard it too. It wasn't but a faint, cute curse that reminded him of something his lil' brother would say after stubbing his toe. He trained his rifle on the vague direction it came from automatically, despite the warm thought. He nodded to Sin, finding his throat drying up something fierce. Too late for coffee now. Dropping two fingers toward an alley just beyond them, Isaac took lead with some hesitation.

“Don’t shoot!” The now human looking Volana emerged from the ally hands up. She needed to be quick to think of an excuse or she’d be in trouble.
‘You’re dead.’
‘A bullet won’t kill me.’
‘You’re stupid. Those guns have a million settings! Like the ones Peeter used to make!’
‘You’re right I’m gonna die. At least I will get to leave this world.’
‘Unless they decide to study you.’
‘Unless they decide to study me, but they don’t have strong enough tranquilizers.’
‘True, but a good hit to the head will knock you out like mortals.’
‘You know sometimes I wish you would just shut up.’
‘I just made a joke on the want to hear it?’
‘NO!’
Volana sighed and focused on the guards bottling out her crystal.

A white haired girl with multi-colored eyes watched from the shadows. He golden furred tail swept the dust on the ground as it swayed. She had one ear-bud in, connected to a phone stuffed in her pocket, listening to Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here as she watched. He one red and one black eyes watched the small group further down the alleyway. But she knew better the to expose herself.
Quintus was lost, that much was certain. He'd only been on this world for three months but had yet to fully familiarize himself with the land. He had been transported here accidentally and had no way home, seeing as his ship had been irreparably damaged.
After sorting through his supplies he'd realized he would have to blend in and adapt with the locals,
'not to difficult' he had thought at first, seeing as this was Earth... if only he'd realized how different 'here' would be.
Apparently creatures from other worlds inhabited this Earth as well, Angels, Demons, and other such creatures, he wouldn't have believed it if hadn't been for the fact that he was no longer on his home plane.
His right arm ached, his old scar acting up again.
"Right, have to find my way back to my apartment" he thought to himself.
He'd been hired by a lady to look for her missing daughter and had been successful...Unfortunately he'd gotten turned around and admittedly distracted by the freshly fallen snow. He hadn't seen it since he was a boy...he smiled.
After more walking he began to recognize some of the surrounding area, a quiet little alleyway in a rundown part of town, as he turned the corner he noticed a crystal on the ground, just laying there.
'Looks valuable' he though as he gingerly picked it up and examined it with his dark brown eyes.
It was smooth for the most part and something about it felt oddly alive, he could see it was orange in the light and had a slight glow as well.
Shrugging he opened his armors storage compartment and gave it a curious glance once more before placing it securely inside.
' I'll examine it better once I get home ' he thought, sighing out loud as he stood up and resumed his apartment hunting.

‘Vio!’
‘What?!’
‘I jut got picked up!’
‘Hell this just made things a lot more complicated.’
‘It’s a man. He’s... One moment.’
‘Waiting.’
‘Ok he’s not from this Earth. That’s all I can sense.’
‘Sometimes I wish you were as powerful as Shade’s crystal.’
‘I will be once YOU become more experienced.’
‘It’s not my fault I got paired with you.’
‘True.’
As the crystal spoke to Bolana it glowed patterns. Bright then dark. Bright bright dark bright dark dark.

The rifle hummed as Isaac toggled the safety, it's barrel squared on the teen's chest.
"K-keep those hands in the air!" He barked. "One turn around. Full 360°. Let's see them teeth, too."
It was just a human girl he was aiming at. At least that's what she looked like. It was standard procedure (or harrassment as some locals say) to check for tails and wings off the bat, Vamp fangs too. The girl didn't have any baggy clothing. No signs of monster parts tucked away like the soldiers of New Colorado were born yesterday. The trick never works, but some still try it.
Isaac relaxed a bit, still keeping his weapon trained. There were other ways the magical sort could hide what branded them. So focused on the scanning for feathers or tuffs of fur, Volana's estrange eye color didn't even cross his mind.
"What are you doing out this late, kid? skipping curfew while a Hunt is on?"

Sin had his pistol aimed directly for her her head, a veteran knows best than to drop his guard, even for a child. He let Isaac ask the questions, he kept his eyes on her, ready to pull the trigger if need be.
Sin never gave even babies a chance. He was always weary. When mythical creatures began to appear, they came with higher ups. Wolves have alphas, angels have archangels, vampires have The Council, demons have archdemons and so on.
Once a newly recruited Sinclair had been given a hunt. It lead him to the abandoned sector. Sector 11. What he saw, it carved a hole in his soul. Archdemons have the power to spread a curse. The kind that turns people into rabid Ghouls. The people that can be cursed are weak willed or have given up on being alive and at the time time of the Great Collapse, Sector 11 was already riddled in poverty. The first archdemon Abraxous, he cursed the inhabitants that lost their hope and humanity turning them into blood thirsty Ghouls or as Abraxous calls them, the cursed ones.
Years after, Sin's squad was assigned in helping the military sweep Sector 11, he saw children, babies and mothers bend in ways that was inhuman. Their dried out skin, grey eyes and rotten teath still give him nightmares. He had to put down a 2 year old...
He never forgot, the Great Collapse brought more pain than anything.
"We have to take you in kid, Co-operation or not, we can't risk innocent lives" he said retrieving a dimensional capture capsule. A pod that sends its captures to a blank white dimension that lives within each capsule. They found this demension through a warpkin, a tiny creature that warps from dimension to dimension.
"if you're innocent you'll be let go"

Volana cursed silently. ‘I hate it when they bring those out. Since I’m more powerful than demon and angel most things can’t hold me.’ ‘And you can’t travel into another realm without me doing it.’ Her crystal glowed.
‘That too.’
Volanafelt the blood leave her face. “I should just get home. I have a little brother. I was just looking for dropped cash.” She kept her hands up.
‘If I have to fight through this, this side of me will be on the run.’ ‘Alex won’t.’ ‘I know but you said not to change.’ ‘You might have too...’
(And sorry for long reply times. I don’t have internet at my house and I have to be in town to get service)

"Not so fast," The soldier warned in the same blunt, barking tone.
Isaac couldn't get a read. She spoke like a normal girl to match the unnasuming look, but he finally noticed the eyes. They were shifting all the time. It could just be nerves, but she seemed so out of focus and noticeably quiet where most scared kids would be babbling a lot more than that weak excuse. A quick glance around found no one on the street with them (that he could see). Who could she signalling? Was it just a tick?
Isaac nodded over to Sin, giving him the go ahead to trap her while he stayed aimed. "If you're some delinquent or wallet-snatcher, that ain't our department. You're miles safer in there than out here, and will be let go after processing. Just keep those hands up and feet planted..."

‘As soon as he tries to rap me they’ll know I’m not mortal... Lord help me.’ ‘This bag stinks.’ ‘You can’t smell.’ ‘I can dream I can.’
‘I know you’re trying to lift the mood, but shut up.’
‘Fine.’
Volana readied the reverse word on her tongue. She couldn't use her powers or wings while she was in hidden state.

She inched closer to the edge of the shadow from which she watched. Things were getting intense. But she also knew that the girl was in trouble. She cursed herself for not remembering what her father had taught her for situations lake this.
‘I can’t kill them. But if I don’t they will tell the government that I exist. What do I do?’ Volana paniked. ‘Guess I’ll just be on the run. I can’t kill them.’
Volana sighed and said the reverse spell. She turned back to her normal self and spread her wings ready to fly away...

"take a good luck Isaac, Nephilim" he said glancing at Isaac for a moment keeping his pist trained. He held the capsule tight, ready to arm it if things go sour.
"Remember i told you about my mission in sector 11?" he said lowering his pistol "Abraxus turned almost the entire district into ghouls, my team and i were backed into a building, ghouls poured in through every entry. My whole team died and i was on the brink, my leg got slashed. I was on my last stand when i was blinded by a white light. When my eyes cleared up, the ghouls were dead and the only thing left was a beautiful feather" he tucked the capsule away "i should have been dead" it was evident he fought hard with himself about it.
"The bullets they give us.The Dead Man's magazine for your rifle... They're made with a special toxin made out of ghoul blood" he explained, it was the reason he never carried a rifle. Ghouls were once people, there's no way he'd use a dead person to fight a war.
"I had to be sure you were nephilim" he said to Volana.
It was at that moment when the heavy pattering of feet caught Sin's attention. It came from all around them. It lasted a few seconds before stopping completely. It wa completely silent, so quiet that Sin could hear himself breath. What felt like the longest 30 seconds was followed by a screeching "Ghouls! "

Volana was taken by complete surprise at this. She lowered her wings slightly, but was still on alert. "Depending on the color of feather. Every half and half has a different color of feather."
Her hands lit on purple fire and she looked around for ghouls. "And their own power."

Isaac listened intently, hesitating to pull the trigger on the once thought to be human teenager. "Is now really the time for this, Sin!" The young man's voice hiked in pitch and cracked with panic. "What the boys cook up in the lab is of no concern to us as long as it works. If it's Ghoul blood, fine. What happened to your team was horrible, all the more reason to bring this... thing in and any others like her to prevent those atrociti--"
RreeeeeEEEEEYYYAAAAHCccccc
A boney form pounced from where it'd snuck along a wall. It was the vanguard of a herd, a mass of the dead which hadn't been sighted in the area until now. The two D.M. toxin bullets Isaac managed to slug the ghoul with did nothing but pass through decaying flesh. They both hit the ground, monster atop the soldier. Its malformed limbs beat down the lightly armored prey, doing everything it could to get at the flesh.
"AAAAHH!" Isaac screamed. He kicked it off, unholstered his sidearm and discharged several rounds. When the first finally lay still, Isaac found many more pairs of flourescent green eyes glaring on the rooves and walls.
He'd pretty much forgotten all about the winged girl at this point. Probably doesn't even remember his name.
