"Heh," the Fallen prisoner chuckled, "doesn't seem as though they think you're a threat, Nal." The soon-to-be Dominus turned and smacked her, sending her flying into a brick wall. She wasn't dead, for the Primus did not desire it. "Who rules this settlement!?!" He roared, still oblivious to the small 'party' near the square alley.
"Alright, yeah, let's go. Without badges and all of this ruckus, it's probably just best we go..." Artemis sighed, furrowing her brow as she turned from the scene. Without badges, and with already a discrepancy against the law with her vigilante justice habits, Artemis was actually fully aware of what her rights were, having tangoed more than she would have liked with authority and other figures of the law. Not to mention that with the law looking for 'Watch' activities, she was a little more careful these days.
"Sorry boys, try sobering up first," Artemis said, paying no mind as she tried to shuffle Ash away from all of this nonsense. Under her breath, Artemis could be heard saying, "kung ano ang mga tangang tulala..."

Mike was not impressed at the older woman was insisting on leaving the scene without providing details and attempting to snatch a child that was not hers in front of two officer who were on duty, no less
"Police" recited Mike stepping in front of Artemis to stop her departure pulling out his badge in a dead pan face
"Please answer sergeant Jack's couple of questions." recited Mike again in a monotone voice waving the woman over to Jack "Honestly... officers do work... even on Halloween" informed Mike tired and unamused "and no... we do not drink whilst on duty... and yes, children to sometimes get lost and become stray during festivities. I assure you, we will do our utmost to locate her parents" remarked Mike
Jack continued to write down statements from Pentre
"The horse?" asked Jack calmly and busily scribbling away
"My steed, very well looked after as you can see, his name is Gallahad" informed Pentre
"And your profession is what, acting?" quizzed Jack causing Pentre to frown
"Nay, I am a knight of the Old Code" informed Pentre offended at the disrespect.
"Right... why are you carrying a sword then?" frowned Jack
"Fencing" replied Pentre quickly finding the questions absurd and invasive
"Very well, you're a sportman then" concluded Jack writing that down too
"Aye, aye, sportmanship and honour and two of many key features among knights" somewhat agreed Pentre
"And the child... is it yours? are you trying to abduct her?" questioned Jack further
"I was merely guarding the little damsel, she was unaccompanied upon my arrival" explained Pentre watching Jack write that down
"Well, we are here now, so you leave her with us, son, sign your statement here and be on your way" muttered Jack writing down the statement and sending Pentre away to lower the number of those present
"You are guards then?" questioned Pentre in a frown scribling his name in a neat medieval handwriting that left Jack baffled.
"Aye, that we are, police officers on duty" assured Jack
"Well then I shall depart and leave the damsel in your care, good day to you, towns guards..." agreed Pentre smiling at Ash and mounting the horse to ride away.
"Likewise... happy Halloween to you too... good costume by the way" complimented Jack watching Pentre leave and soon disappear from sight, glad the knight had caused no further trouble or issues
Afterwards Jack returned his attention to Artemis, seeing Mike pull out the badge and motion the woman over to him. He took up his pad, fresh form at hand and readied to write down details.
"Right, citizen, state your name, location, why are you at the dumpsters? any other relevant information concerning this stray child... is she known to you? are you neighbours? relatives? or at least acquainted?" asked Jack pen to hand and waiting for plausible details this time round.
"Only a few standard questions and when done, you're free to go" assured Jack "We have received over thirty prank calls so far and we have a duty to attend to each one of them too" mused Jack shaking his head "You can never tell which ones are for real and which ones are just... Halloween..." muttered Jack
"Answer quickly, briefly, and if all is legitimate enough, you're free to continue enjoying the festivities, madam" assured Jack forcing a small reassuring smile

Basil and Beare walked causally down the street.
Beare paused and squinted towards the scene, "What in the sweet is going on over there?" she murmured.
Basil squinted, forcing his eyes to glow so he could see better into the darkness. He grabbed Beare's shoulder, "Something we're not getting into." He said quietly. He saw some serious looking, possibly real police; something incredibly weird; and a horse. He began leading Beare away.
"God, I can't wait until I'm old enough to get that trashed," Beare murmured, passing off half the scene's participants as intoxicated in one away or another.
Basil squinted at her and shoved her along down the side walk.

"'Miami Metro'?" Artemis said, giving a dismissive and amused scoff as she put a hand on Ash's shoulder.
"Long way from home -- and most certainly out of your jurisdiction. Don't they issue infractions for that? Anyways, and unfortunately for you, I don't even usually answer to the San Francisco PD pigs," Artemis replied, reaching for her hard light brush and activating it. It was never usually a device for offensive means -- no, she would get in a lot of trouble more often than she already did if it were. And tonight? Well... tonight, that was not really going to change.
With a swipe to the side, a bright blue barrier was erected between her and Ash and the Miami cops. Hard light had its uses -- normally, Artemis used them in a more artistic fashion... but given everything being absolutely sketchy at best, now was the time to get out of there while the hard light barriers were up.
"C'mon kid!" Artemis said, grabbing Ash's wrist and starting to make a run for it. She passed others that were most likely bystanders and witnesses to the weirdness. With a bit of a huff, the most that Artemis said as she ran while hopefully having Ash keep up was, "sorry, coming through! Make way!"

For a kid, she seems to be unusually good at keeping up with a highly athletic woman.
She also seems unusually not-out-of-breath, and unusually sardonic for someone being dragged down a busy high street by someone they've never met.
"You're j-just going to ignore the alien invasion?" says the 13-year-old, as her legs propel her faster than a young child has any right to move. "The literal, like, aliens? How do you even d-do that?"
Truth be told, Ash was still reeling from everything that had happened - it didn't help she was still dead tired, but maybe that was the reason she wasn't screaming in terror at the aforementioned literal aliens.
Her weird flesh energy powers (Spepsima? Steptima?) were finally coming into their own, performing various feats of biological impossibility in order to keep her frail young form from collapsing, but despite all that she was starting to develop a splitting headache.

Jack was tired after a long day working and the night was nowhere near over. "That woman must be drunk to think herself in San Francisco when we clearly are in Miami" muttered Mike shaking his head
"Oh... so that's where she is from then! She must be from San Francisco and probably heading there too" grinned Jack. The pair headed back to the car where Jack picked up the radio to report the kidnapping and alert all units in Miami and San Francisco and nationwide too, describing Artemis age, looks and clothing and the little Ash looks, clothing and age
"What an unhappy Halloween we have so far, over twenty prank calls and one real kidnap" complained Mike shaking his head. No sooner Jack had finished reporting the abduction, Mike saw Primus beat up the Fallen prisoner
Mike looked wide eyed at the beating from Primus and got out of the car, breaking into a run to get there fast. "That's criminal battery and assault!" gasped Mike.
Jack finished issuing his police alert and runned after Mike to give him backup, looking at Primus horrified.
The rude woman and the girl may have run away, but at least the kid seemed safe. This other woman on the other hand had been slammed against a wall and would likely have serious injuries. That had to be tackled as a priority for sure.
Jack reached the location, pulling out a gun. "Hands up, you're under arrest for assault" barked Jack aiming his gun at Primus and approaching the man
Mike quickly came over to check the beaten woman for a pulse, relieved to find it, and pressed the radio to get help
"Ambulance needed, victim, woman, middle aged, serious injury received to the head, location by the dumpster at the end of 2000 Collins Avenue, number 7, Miami Beach, 33139, assailant seems aggressive, handle with care" reported Mike releasing the radio and checking the victim further
"Madam? Are you awake?" asked Mike concerned, unsure of her ability to respond

"You dare challenge me," he roared, "with little but a miniscule weapon!?! You will see the true power of the Red Legion! ATTACK!!!!" With those words, the Legionaries pulled out their pulse rifles and began to fire at the police. Nal was too angry to be bothered, much less be assaulted with only a pistol. Inside, he laughed at the weak humans, with out Guardians to protect them.
The Fallen prisoner began to arouse, finding a human standing above her. Quickly, she stood up, despite her injuries, and began to run away from the fray, only to catch the attention of one of the Phalanxes, who began to fire at her.
"Kid, I'm just hoping that this is a lucid fever dream and that I'm waking up in less than five minutes. Honestly--" Artemis replied, looking back to what Ash had been referencing. This night was getting weirder and weirder, and, from the looks of things, it seemed like she was not making it back in time for the end of the party at her own house.
At the order of attack, Mike and Jack scrambled for cover.
"Everyone ... run.... take cover... dangerous armed men on the loose!... off the streets! off the streets! " shouted Jack shooing everyone from the street into buildings, houses and shopping centres for protection. He grabbed the radio to demand backup and heavy arms, demanding the military to take action and get involved on this angry mob altogether, whilst he too went to get cover, Jack and Mike themselves bursting into the nearest house.
"Happy Halloween from your local police department! For your own safety, no more trick o' treating, just stay indoors" greeted Mike giving good news, bad news and taking up a candy, unwrapping it and popping it into his mouth, making the most of the festivities.
It was a nearby house, the one that Artemis had jabbed the thumb towards, earlier on, and indeed, it was by far the closest to the dumpster. From there, these two cops would assess the situation and evaluate the danger. Admittedly a little cowardly but better safe than sorry for sure.

"You and me both. Are you still t-trying to get me back to your place, or s-something? Or are we just g-getting away from the alien horde?"
Ash glanced back towards the unfolding mayhem as well, and cringes a little at the sight of violence.
"...I-I hope they don't destroy the planet or anything..."

The Cabal leader continued his assault on the town, taking any who were left outside prisoner. His Legionaries and Phalanxes proceeded to flip over cars, smash through buildings, and fight off the two police who had run away into a nearby building.
"Y-yeah... I..." Artemis started, deactivating her HLB and tapping her chin with it as she thought about everything. Her brow knit together, and she finally said: "Just, uh... just give me a hot second to process everything that's going on right now...."
After that, Artemis muttered something under her breath as she gave consideration to everything going on.
"It's Halloween.... S'been a weird knight, some weird cops that felt fresh out of Bel-Air or Manhattan despite apparently being from Miami..." Artemis' mutterings got a little faster paced as she cursed in Tagalog. "Now there's a weird... alien... invasion."
Bringing her hands together and resting her thumb and index fingers along her mouth and nose, Artemis closed her eyes and gave a long, exasperated sigh. This was a lot to take in.
"If this isn't a fever dream, then somehow I am dead, and the afterlife is crazy."

For the sake of the poor woman's sanity, Ash decided not to reveal her terrifying shapeshifter powers until they were in relative safety.
"...I-I don't feel dead."
Well, at any rate, she was now pretty sure this woman wasn't a Sumeragi agent who was after her blood. Probably literally.
"...w-which makes the s-situation worse, I guess... a-aliens and all." She lets out a dry chuckle, which isn't the sort of thing you'd normally hear from a kid who doesn't know how to stick with her friends and hides in dumpsters.

"Yeah?" Artemis asked in regards to feeling dead. "Unfortunately, me neither."
Looking back again while starting back up again, Artemis hoped that there had been little focus on her and Ash for now while finding suitable enough cover. Going back home had been temporarily out of the question at the immediate time since her path had been blocked. Now... well, there were plenty of alley ways and buildings.
"I always heard about weird stuff happening on Halloween, but I always chalked it up to movie and other media influence. Honestly..." Artemis said, approaching a small storefront and observing it briefly before pushing the door to it open. It was dressed up for Halloween, and it looked like there were still workers and some shoppers within that were busy taking care of their own business -- clearly oblivious to some of the other happenings going on at this current time.
Guiding Ash inside, Artemis looked to where the aliens had been and tightened her grasp on her HLB before slipping into the store herself. Taking a breath and trying to shake everything off, Artemis just muttered to herself, "right, so... act normal. Nothing bad is happening outside. No... no need to cause more disruptions this night.... Hopefully."

Jack and Mike had some stern words.
"We cannot be cowering inside this house until the danger is passed, what if those invaders cause further harm? You should go out and negotiate" muttered Jack.
"I definitely need that knight's sword, some of these understand nothing but force of arms and clearly they disregarded the gun..." winced Mike turning to the party house guests.
"We have a bit of a situation outside... who is the landlord of this property?" asked openly unsure if the owner was there or out trick or treating.
Jack in the meantime grabbed another candy and popped it into the mouth, when stuff is free... seems to taste all the better and those in the house seemed so friendly too.

((Should I play the house guests, given I'm the OP?))
"So, um, what's your name? May as well establish a-a friendly atmosphere."
Ash bobs up and down on her feet, looking around nervously. She's surprisingly okay with everything now, actually. Maybe it's just the shock, but hey, the lady seemed pretty down-to-earth. Maybe the imminent destruction of the city wouldn't be so bad.
Maybe.

(( sure no problem ))
Mike smiled and dug into the pocket taking out a coin.
"Here a trick" grinned Mike tossing the coin up into the air and grabbing it into the palm, discreetly sliding it down the sleave to show an empty palm for it.
He opened the other hand to present the coin and give it Ash as a treat as well. "There a treat... you get to keep it" smiled Mike always one for parties and festivities despite the circumstances
