Kyarin finished with the last bit of decorating, stringing orange and purple lights at the door, hanging spider garlands everywhere, and filling a large bucket with as much candy as he could carry home from the store. Adjusting his costume, Ezio Auditore da Firenze from Assassin's Creed, he awaited eagerly for some trick or treaters to come around. He was fairly new in these parts, and was hoping to make some friends from this, it was as good a time as any. Hopefully the decorations weren't too... lacking. He should have started decoration shopping earlier, but he really didn't think about it, so it'd have to do. The candy should make up for it, anyhow.

There really was no time like Halloween. For Hayley, it usually meant finding a raging party to attend, but first she wondered whether she would be able to pull off getting some free candy. It wasn't like there was a law on how young someone had to be to go knock on people's doors for free treats, right?

So, maybe she wasn't dressed up like a lot of the kids she saw running around in cute superhero costumes. Those gave her a chuckle, after all. Nah, she was dressed up like Leeloo Dallas with orange suspenders and multipass in hand. The outfit kind of gave her a massive confidence boost, and sauntering up to the first door, she grinned brightly the moment she saw Ezio himself. "Aren't assassins supposed to be hiding in the shadows?"

Kyarin held out the bucket for the new trick or treater to take some candy. "Traditionally, yes, but tonight I actually want people to notice me, so instead I'll stick to the orange and purple tinted light, haha" he said warmly. Admiring her costume, he didn't recognize what it was from, but all the same, she rocked the look pretty well. "Any preference of candy? I've got a large assortment, take your pick."

Score! Hayley had half expected for the man to tell her to sod off, so having him offer up her pick of candy was like waltzing in on Christmas. "Ooo, got anything fruity?" Her hand dove into the bucket and resurfaced with an assortment, from which she plucked those that were chocolate or otherwise and let them drop back into the mass amount of candy. She wasted no time popping the first piece into her mouth with another grin. "I guess at least the tinted lights are better than a spotlight. Now, you aren't planning on doing any work tonight, are you?"

Kyarin smiled at her playfulness, also picking a piece of chocolate from the bucket and nibbling on it, before replying. "Nope, off duty tonight, nothing but good vibes and sugar highs here. Why, were you hoping I'd be up for a murder spree?" He said chuckling lightly. "Also, the lights were the best I could get on short notice, but I like them. I think these'll be year-round lights."

Squinting at the lights, Hayley soon offered an agreeable nod. "They get a thumbs up from me, and I mean, if you had already planned on it... I was just going to tag along." Laughter spilled from her lips as she popped another piece of candy in her mouth and quickly replaced that missing one with another from the bucket. "Anyway, thanks Ezio. Keep out the good candy and maybe your house won't get TP'd!"

Kyarin tossed another identical candy in Hayley's direction. "Would you have TP'd me if I hadn't had some? Maybe I should offer year round trick or treating, then people will really like me!" He laughed, more to cover up the fact that he was desperate for friends. "Anyways, I hope you enjoy your treats, lemme know if you learn any good tricks!"

Midair Hayley caught the candy and tucked it into her bag. "I dunno, seems a good waste of toilet paper, doesn't it?" Still, she shrugged as she began meandering away from his front door. "You do year round candy and I'll be back. See ya Ezio!"

It was rare that Calisto ever really got the time to travel around on his own time. Without Stella, he usually felt lost, but it was Stella who urged him to take a vacation and just have some time to collect his thoughts and actually relax. However, finding time for thought collection and relaxing seemed easier said than done, unfortunately.

As it was, it appeared that Calisto was lost in his thoughts rather than collecting them. Once he had realised that he was idly ambling down a pathway, he shook himself back into being a little more alert. Looking around himself, he noted some of the decorations and the fact that it seemed as if people were getting ready for some kind of holiday.

The nearest house to him was a little weak in the department of decoration, but it seemed that there was some effort. Calisto looked to the person that had been leaving, and then his attention turned to the person that remained. Since there was confusion abound, the green-haired man started to walk toward the person that stood before the house and was dressed like... maybe a hooded mercenary of some kind or another? Maybe Calisto could get some answers.

"Excuse me!" Calisto started. "I think I might have lost my way. Do you know where I am, and... uh...."

Calisto took a moment again to look around at the decorations that were not only around this house, but on other houses.

"I don't think there I've seen decorations like this so widespread. What are they for?"

Kyarin waved at the newcomer and offered the bucket of candy before realizing he was terribly confused. "It's Halloween! People are dressed up to trick or treat. Would you like some candy?" He said warmly, holding the bucket up again.

"'Halloween'? 'Trick or treat'?" Calisto repeated in question. His expression told the fact that he was definitely new to the holiday and tradition of. Looking to the bucket of candy that was offered to him, he hesitated for a moment before reaching out to take a couple of the candies so as not to appear rude or ungrateful.

"What is this holiday? I don't understand this concept of 'trick or treat'. What is 'trick or treat'?" Calisto asked, placing the wrapped candies into one of his pouches for later.

Kyarin paused, unsure of how to explain things to this newcomer. "Well," he said, gathering his thoughts the best he could. "Halloween is a holiday based off both the old pagan holiday Samhain and All Hallow's Eve. These holidays were praising fire and the dead. Nowadays, it's a commercial holiday where people dress as different characters and creatures to walk door to door asking for candy, which is when we say 'Trick or treat!'" Kyarin stopped, wondering if he gave too much information or how much of that was accurate. He decided not to let it bother him, as long as the person standing in front of him understood what Halloween was now.
