On a crisp, frosty Octoval's End Eve, 7:00 PM
On the river's edge near the center of bustling Glenveil, Lorlexia, sits the expansive estate and guild of one highly intrepid merchant. Sturdy stone buildings and pale green lanterns bear festive enchantments of cats and spirits, which dance and prance across every surface. Orange and violet fairy lights dust the air. Lovely music files out from opened windows. It's quite... charming!
The lofty, many towered building that serves as the guild's headquarters bears its gates open long past closing time, inviting wanderers in. A stone pathway rolls up to the heavy oaken door, and any who come to it will find the pull cord of the estate bell. Ring it, if you would like!
For despite the vastness of the Forest Lorlexian Merchant Guild, there is nothing spooky about it!

The Doctor walks up the steps to the building, able to roam the outside on a night like this with people being dressed up in all sorts of costumes. With this ability to blend in tonight he takes advantage of it to see what it is humans do on this night. He looks up at the door then around curiously before he pulls on the cord. His outfit is his normal wear of a hooded black cloak, with a bird mask hiding his face. The only part of him visible are his dark eyes.
A charmed cat ghosts across the pathway at the doctor's feet, skittering away to the sound of the bell ringing boldly overhead.
And about two minutes later, the door swings inward.
"Huzzah! A visitor~!"
The...human? Is this thing a human? To untrained eyes it may take a moment to realize the feline ears, spotted wings, and blue tail of Guildmistress Lady Forest are indeed attached to her body, but they make a sick costume to an otherwise human form.
Dressed in a wine-colored, multilayered dress, the aptly-named cheetahfaun beams at her visitor. Pearly fangs are on display, but her face is friendly!
"M' oh m', yer a lil' tall t' b' a child, aren't ya?" Lady Forest teases as she beholds his outfit. "Great choice though! Yer bound t' scare th' pee outta lil' old ladies!"
A jar of candy floats into view, hovering dutifully between the host and guest. Telekinesis keeps it from meeting its end across the doorway.

The doctor gazed at the woman with blank interest for a moment, then, the jar distracting him, he looks at it before taking a piece from it out of curiosity, it disappearing into his sleeve. He then returned his gaze to the woman. "You..." He begins to speak in a monotone voice, though it has a hint of European influence in it, "Are not infected... This is good... But no, I am no child... Just... New to this... Celebration?... That you mortal seem to hold for some reason... Might I ask about it possibly?... You seem like you would know something of it..."
The guildmistress lofts her brows curiously.
"Ohoh, ya ain't th' first person to ask tha'! Th' amount o' ignorance 'round m' subordinates is mind numbin'!" Lady Forest plucks the jar out of the air and tucks it under an arm.
"It's somethin' folks call All 'allows Eve? Hall-o-ween? People dress up an' go door-t-door for candy, or they party--"
Somewhere in the depths of the building, a bottle breaks. The lady's ears flatten into her hair.
"Like tha', bucko."
That isn't an apt description, but that appears to be all the woman's got.

"I see... Well it is hard to learn of things more current than you would think.... When locked in a research facility that is..." He sighs shaking his head, "Though I guess I can understand your.... Explanation.... Then... Maybe asking others will assist me more in understanding what this all is..."
A grin was plastered upon Llyr's face after he had gotten done counting the coin he had made from one of his more recent scores. Now, he was just going to enjoy the rest of the evening's festivities to the best of his abilities -- and that, he was very much looking forward to.
The sound of music caught Llyr's ears before he noticed the fairy lights and lanterns. Whoever set this up definitely seemed to want to draw attention, and attention was what they were going to get! Following the lights till a building came into view, Llyr spotted the bell that was just begging to be rung (either that, or he just felt compelled to ring it).
Waiting for a moment, Llyr simply took a moment to take in more of the festive decor that flitted about, and he listened to the music that rang through the air.

Lady Forest grins, and this time around it's devilish. She doesn't believe his story for a moment, but the faun still humors the doctor.
"See th' town, get a gist... enjoy yer candy. Just don't stab anyone," she bids him...
...seconds before another visitor gains her attention. "Pretty done up, innit? I spared no expanse makin' th' Guild look swanky!" she calls out to Llyr.

"Looks like all that effort paid off!" Llyr called back once he spots the presumed host of the premises. "It certainly creates a kind of atmosphere that one would easily find themselves lost in. How long did it take?"
"A full day an' a whole team o' enchanters!" The guild mistress beams with pride. After all, they had to cover a city block in magic.
"Ya want some candy too, bucko?" The jar hovers once more, supported on the pale green fires that express the lady's mental prowess.

"Well send the team my regards!" Llyr chuckled, bringing a hand to his hip as he then watched the jar beside Lauren float beside her.
"Sounds great, actually!" Llyr said in response to getting some candy. "If you have any chocolate coins, I'd love 'em!"

The Guildmistress pretends to put on a thoughtful face as he makes the request.
"I may, Poirate," she jests. A clawed hand dips in to check things out.
Sure enough, three coins, wrapped in copper, are plucked out, and each one is skillfully flicked in Llyr's direction.

One of Llyr's brows quirked to the mention of being a 'pirate', and he gave a brief, silent laugh. He had just been a little taken aback by it was all. However, his attention was brought back as three items came his way.
Llyr caught the first and second, though fumbled with the third, nearly dropping it. With a sigh of relief after getting it in his possession, he grinned up to Lauren and gave a slight bow to her.
"Many thanks, my lady~" Llyr said. He then glanced around the rest of the area, looking at the decorations and effort that went into everything that made the place stand out. "I'd like to explore the rest of the decorated streets. Take in all in before the night is over."

The Guildmistress applauds Llyr's catching skills inspite of the near-blunder.
"Yer welcome, sir! Anythin' t' accommodate a potential future customer," she touts with a wink. "Feel free t' explore th' grounds! They're open for th' night--just b' mindful tha' guards are on patrol 'round 'ere."

This time, Llyr gave a bit of a more audible laugh as he threw his arms out to either side of him while walking back.
"'Tis a night of tricks and treating, my lady. I can't promise I won't find myself in some form of trouble when such a perfect holiday premise exists!" Llyr called to Lauren. Chuckling again to himself, Llyr turned from where the madame was and went along his way. There were some idea swimming through his mind, though the true question was if he was going to act upon them or not.
Only time would tell.

"Well then, I'm sure th' guards would love t' meet ya," the lady teases. One free hand lifts for a friendly wave, bidding the fellow a fine evening.
"Just don't get tricked yerself! Tis' th' season!"
And with that, the cheetahfaun closes the door once again.
She's definitely still expecting visitors this night!
(OoC: Yes, the thread is still open!)

The doctor gave a short nod before turning and leaving, giving a quick glance at the other visitor, "Not infected... Good..." Then simply leaves the estate without another word.
Aekra walked into the building, attracted by the lights, before knocking with a smile, waiting for the door to open. She didn't understand the customs of this place, but people were about in costume, so she blended in as it was.
"Comin'~!"
The Guildmistress' voice flitters through the door, moments before she opens it again. The cheetahfaun eyes her newest visitor with interest.
"Lookin' for candy, or business, lass?" She greets Aekra.

"Either, I guess," she muttered, "what do you have?"
