Recruitment Thread


The crimson haired, demon eyed woman woke in a dark place. The floor on which she laid was hard, cold. There was no visible light at all. The darkness was so deep, she couldn't see her own hands even if they were right in front of her face. She rolled to her stomach, and pushed herself to her hands and knees. Her joints screamed with pain and stiffness, suggesting she had been there for awhile. She reached out, and found a wall that felt the same as the floor. Using it to stand, she looked around again. Her vision shifted, an ability within her became active, and her surroundings slowly became visible. The hall was narrow, and the walls were a patchwork of different slabs of metal. She looked up, the roof was so far up she couldn't see it.

"Hello." She called, it echoed down the halls, and thundered in her pointed ears. She cringed, and if slowly faded. A red light flickered to life across from her, and seemingly blinked. You've awoken, finally. She stared at the light. "What are you, and where am I?" She asked.

The light blinked again, and a low hum sounded. it was as if it was laughing. I am Incarceron, the living prison, and you are my child. Look upon your clothes, and there you shall find your name. The woman headed it's words, and looked down. On the blue and white prison clothes was a patch labeled Cynder. She didn't question the prison at all, though her being it's child was a complete lie. Yet Cynder didn't have any memory before now. Follow me, my child, I will lead you out. A Line of red lights appeared to the left, reaching endlessly down the halls. So Cynder followed, wholeheartedly, yet foolishly, believing the prison.

"Well? How long do you plan to keep us trapped? We have things to steal, places to pillage, ports to plunder, captives to enslave... as much as I love your voice and company our romantic date is long overdone" noted pirate captain Calico Jack, talking to the walls quite literally, getting aye from his crew there

The reawoken king rose from his seat, a platform high above a metallic forest which cast a shadow over all below. He had no prior knowledge of how he had come to be there, but he remembered some little red light claiming that he was an overseer- whatever that meant. He knew that he was posted above one of the many regions, though he had no map of anything or information on anyone else that may have dwelt there. The light had also mentioned a Warden; one who held charge of the entire complex, though he had not personally met him yet and still had many questions to ask. Until he truly remembered how he had gotten here, or what his Overseer title meant, he returned to his seat, a lone eye in an infinite world.

Cynder had followed the line of 'Eyes' for what seemed like forever. Tripping over unseen obstacles that weren't there only moments ago. Soon, she would see a light in the distance. From where she was, it looked like sunlight. She quickened her pace into a run, her bare feet plopping against the cold metallic floor. She then burst out of the door, in what seemed like a forest. She looked up, the 'sunlight' was artificial, but there were even clouds in the fake sky.

To her left, there was an ocean, with docks. She could see a group of men standing there, facing a wall. The forest, which she was closer to, was made of metal upon closer inspection. Her long furry brown tail twitched. Though she didn't have her memories, this still didn't feel quite right to her. She turned around to look from where she came. A metal sheet slid over the opening, and another red 'Eye' appeared above it.Enjoy your time here, my child. The prison said to her. Cynder wouldn't reply, but simply turn and start walking into the trees.

An alert had made itself known to Dagothan; two beings of great power, possibly beyond his own, had entered the area in which he overlooked. One he somewhat recognized, though he could not place her name to his surprise. The other...it was covered in an aura of darkness, as though the light around it had been darkened. This would not make sense, Dagothan thought, as he would have seen it cover the light. Nonetheless, he continued his focus on the former, finding her less ominus than the latter.

As she walked, she plucked a metal leaf from the trees. She turned it over in her hands. All the detail of and actual leaf was imprinted into it, as if it had actually grown. As she looked at it, she flinched and dropped the leaf, and looked at her thumb. A small cut was on it, from which leaked a small amount of blood. But, to her honest surprise, the cut healed right before her eyes. The small droplet of blood fell to the ground, and burst into a flame. She jumped back from it, yet it quickly burnt out.

Everything seemed so off to her. In the distance she heard the robotic bleating of sheep. As she listened, all the animals she heard sounded robotic in some ways. She began to have a growing suspicion that she wasn't supposed to be here. As she walked on, she saw a name sitting on a raised platform, in the woods. She thought his off as well. Of course she would stop when she spotted him, her ghoul like eyes locked on the stranger.

"Where did the other one go?" he thought, the dark figure gone from the woods as though he was never there. He once again returned focus to the first form, which had drawn close enough to be seen from his vantage point. He noted the unusual aura, the tail (was it a tail?), and the feel of death surrounding her (He had confirmed she was female) as he looked into her glaring eyes, which he could see were red as the crimson robes surrounding his frame. He could not call to her, as she was below and he was above, but he knew that she knew he was there, and vice versa. To communicate with her would be a challenge most vexing, but one worth attempting, if to discover the truth of his stance here. Ultimately, he decided to wait until she tried to commune with him before doing so with her.

She had noticed that he knew she was there, and for some unknown reason, this sent chills down her spine. She would look back in the direction of the ocean, where she had seen the pirates, and debated if it would be safer to go back that way. For a long moment, she thought about this, yet then decided to press on. She crossed her arms against her chest to ward of the encroaching cold, as she only wore a set of tattered prisoner's clothes. She approached the platform on which the man sat, and climbed up to met him. Once there, she would stand there silently. Her arms crossed, her tail twitching, and her form hunched and shivering from the cold.

Dagothan could sense her power behind him before he even turned. "Good day, my lady," he smiled grimly, "or is it even day? I cannot tell within these metal worlds. I am Dagothan, an overseer of the Incarceron, though I have no knowledge of said title other than to watch and wait. And you are?"

"I believe it is day."
She replied, looking around and rubbing her arm.
"My name is Cynder, yet that is all I know."
She purposely left out the part that she was a supposed child of the prison. She had a feeling that it was something that most would not agree with. Which is true, in most of the civilization in Incarceron, the Cell-born are treated with extreme prejudice.
