M/C is the half breed of a human and dark elf, an despite being made to feel ashamed of something he can't help- Being who he is and being born half human- he has stayed with the dark elves. Most keep their remarks and opinions on him to themselves seeing as he is in fact the son of the King/Chief of their specific clan/group. Y/C is a full blooded dark elf (and whether or not you want him to be fond of M/C or not at first is completely up to you!)
and known for your fighting/hunting skills. After the woods they call home begin to grow sick,
ill. due to an alleged curse put on the land by an angered warlock (how and why the curse was put on the land can be discussed so we can both be happy with the reasoning! I was thinking of something along the lines of the humans who live near the woods anger the warlock in some way?
But we can discuss details before we start!).
In some attempt to prove M/C's worthy of being the chief's son he waits until late into the night to sneak away, But not right away off towards where this alleged warlock lurks, Inf act he actually makes a stop at Y/C's home to do his best at convincing Y/C to assist him in his journey. Seeing as he has no real skills in fighting he figures you could be of use and give him plenty of training/trips along the way, M/C is ambitious and determined to accomplish this mission of his and maybe once he returns he can be fully accepted by his father's people (Though your character obviously doesn't have to agree right away, It all depends on how you would like him to react).
Along the way things begin to click between our two characters, they run into many an obstacle to get past, and they even meet and see a few unique and some quirky characters that both assist in some way as well as make themselves into a bit of a bother along the journey.

Magic is rare, but not unheard of. Mundane characters may or may not believe in it. Magical characters may form small and exclusive pockets for study, protection, etc.

Combat is expected as part of the storyline but it won't dominate the plot.
