Of course, being a teacher, Roland had to go. Early that morning he'd carefully slip out of bed and go to get ready. Once he was ready, he gave one last check in her room to make sure she was alright, then he left for work. When Abby woke, Maria would just be calling up to her. "Abby, are you up? I've made some breakfast!"

Abby shot out of bed as Maria called breakfast. Throwing on her hoodie before she rushed out of her room and slid into the kitchen quickly sitting at the table. Looking happier and more relxed than anyones ever seen her look. The thing Abby loved most was food and she would do practically anything to get to it, which was why she was grinning so happily. "Smells great Maria!" she said happily.

Maria laughed lightly at Abby's excitement, giving her a plate full of delicious breakfast food. "Thanks, honey. Roland has work today, so I was thinking...maybe we should go out shopping!" She smiled. "I talked with the other alpha and managed to have this exception, since I'll be with you the entire time. So what do you say? It'll be my treat. Let's get you a couple new outfits to match that adorable smile of yours."

Abby started eating and grinned happily. "Shopping huh? Well i guess i could manage that," she said jokingly with a soft laugh before quickly finishing off her plate. Washing it then putting it up before disappearing into her room to get dressed. Dressing in white skinny jeans, a dark blue tank top with a unbuttoned long sleeved black shirt, and finished it off with red and white checkered converse hightops.

Abby then left the room and met Maria there before they got in her car. Watching the woods pass by in a blur as they drove towards town. "Ypur not expecting me to go all bright colors are you?" she asked as she looked over at Maria.

Maria drove her off with a smile once she was ready, and she gave a light giggle as she spoke. "Not ALL bright colors. But I'm going to play cupid and help you pick out an outfit that will get Roland's attention..." She winked at Abby and then pulled into the mall parkinglot. She got out and walked arm-in-arm with Abby quite cheerfully. Maria was cheerful, she was peppy and excited but always kind-hearted. She was a good mother-figure for Abby.

Maria dragged Abby into one of the girl clothes stores and smiled. "Alright. Let's find you something cute!"

Abby smiled and laughed softly as Maria said she was going to help with Roland. Getting out once they got to the mall, she softly graoned as Maria dragged her into a girly store. "You better hope this works to get his attention," Abby threatened playfully as they walked throughout the store. Maria giving her a few outfits to try and she did. Only one came out looking really good on her and it was the last one. She smiled and showed it to Maria as she came out of the fitting room.

Maria would check each outfit, and when she came out with the last one she smiled brightly. "Yes! That's it, that's perfect!" It was a light blue sundress that went down to her knees, with cute half-sleeves that ended around her elbows and hung loose on her arms. The dress had pretty white and pink swirly patterning on it, making it quite adorable. Maria clapped excitedly. "It's perfect. Now, we have to see about getting some jewelry to match, and we should curl your hair! Abby, you would look so cute with your hair curled!"

Abby looked down at the dress gave a huff. "I feel like im five. Your trying to turn me into one of these girly people," she complained but wouldnt protest to all of it because she wanted to attract Roland's attention. "If your sure that it will attract his attention though.." she said quietly and smiled as she looked at Maria. Then she went into the dressing room and changed back into her clothes coming out wiht the dress. A happy gleam in her eyes as she followed Maria to the register and they payed for the dress.

Maria giggled softly. "I'm not trying to change you into anything. But if you really want his attention, show him your cute side. Roland doesn't look it, but he has an affinity for cute things. Ask him if he likes baby and he'll say no way, but hand one to him and he looks like he was born to be a dad." She chuckled.

The dress was paid for, then they went and got some jewelry to match the outfit, then she went to the hair parlor and got Abby's hair curled. "You and Roland and I are going on a picnic!" Maria declared. "It's not my fault if something comes up that I have to take care of and leave you two alone, hm?" She giggled mischievously.

Abby looked at Maria as she said a picnic and she smiled. Then a small blush found its way onto her cheeks and she laughed softly. "Your the best Maria," she said with a smile then was happy to leave once her hair was curled.

Once they got back to the house, Abby had fifteen minutes till Roland would be back. "Im gonna go get ready," she said as she rushed down the hall with a smile. Quickly dressing in the dress and putting on the jewelry to match just as she heard the door shut, knowing it was Roland. She waited for a few minutes to give Maria the time to tell him they were going on a picnic before she walked out of her room to meet up with Maria and Roland with a smile.

When he came home, Maria told him about the picnic and he smiled. "Alright, let me go get changed." On his way to the room, though, he saw Maria, and stopped. He stopped completely and just stared, then a smile grew on his lips. "Hey, Abby." He chuckled and walked over to her. "I guess if you're gonna look like that on the picnic then I really shouldn't change, huh?" He took a lock of her curly hair and smiled. "You look really cute, Abby. I guess Maria took you out on a girl date, huh? I was wondering when she'd do that."

He smiled and let go of her hair. "Do you feel better, though? Maria does whatever she can to make people happy, but I know she goes a little far. Are you feeling happy?" She probably was; his eyes didn't leave her, not for a moment. Maria called up to them. "Roland, are you ready?" Without looking away from her, he called back to Maria. "Yeah, gimme another minute, okay?" Maria accepted the excuse and went back to getting everything ready for their picnic.

Abby smiled as she saw Roland and stopped to talk to him. A small blush spreading on her cheeks as he said she was cute. "Thank you. Yea im feeling great and im very happy. I honestly didnt think i would like shopping but Maria makes it fun," she said with a smile.

Abby noticed he didnt look away when he answered Maria and it made her heart race with joy. Glancing at what he was wearing, she smiled then stood on her toes and ruffled his hair a bit. "There. Now your looking rather handsome for the picnic," she said with a small laugh and her eyes were shining. Abby had never looked so happy and relaxed before but there were several reasons she was feelings this good. After a moment, she looked towards the stairs. "I think Maria is waiting," she teased lightly before turning to leave.

Roland laughed a bit as she ruffled his hair. "Good to know it's just my hair that makes me handsome." he said sarcastically. As she mentioned Maria, he nodded. "Yeah, good point." He went in to his room to just change shoes, keeping his cream dress pants and white button-up shirt from work on. He wanted to look good too, if she was looking so pretty.

He came out soon after and went downstairs with Abby to meet up with Maria, get their picnic things in the car, and then head out. Once they were there, he helped put everything out and set out the blanket and such. Once that was all done, he sat down and gestured for Abby to sit beside him. "I didn't think I'd ever see you in a dress. But maybe Maria is changing your mind on that, huh?" He laughed a bit and winked at her. Maria giggled. "Me? I've done no such thing! I'm just bringing out her inner cute!" Roland grinned. "I'm sorry, Abby. You're in trouble, now. Maria has a living Barbie Doll to play with now."

Abby laughed softly as she sat down next to him. "I dont think so. One dress is fine but two is too many. I suppose being a barbie dol isnt all that bad especially when Maria is the one doing it. Her choices arent all that bad but i have to say i will probably never go in that girly store again," she teased Maria with a smile and laugh. Abby did however not wait for Maria or Roland before she started eating some of the food in the basket. She was hungry and Maria had packed some pretty good stuff. Abby may have been dressed up all girly but she was still Abby.

Maria laughed at Abby's words and smiled. "I'll try to reign it in, honey." The three of them would start eating all together, enjoying the good food Maria'd prepared for their picnic. After they finished eating, though, Maria's phone started ringing, and she picked up. "Hello? He what? Oh, goodness. I'll be there in a moment." She hung up and got to her feet. "Sorry you two, I have to go take care of some things. I'll be back later, alright?" Roland looked at her with concern. "Do you want me to go, Maria?" His sister shook her head. "No, no. You just got off work, you stay here. Relax." She smiled. "I'll be back." She winked secretly at Abby, then left.

Roland simply shrugged. "Well, I hope it's nothing too serious. So, Abby, other than going out with Maria today, did you do anything interesting?" He smiled at her and ate a couple chips, laying back and propping himself up on his elbows.

Abby smiled as Maria winked at her and she looked at Roland after Maria left. "Me too. Not really just went to the mall then came back at got ready for picnic. How was your day? Filled with annoying freshman?" she teased with a soft laugh. Laying on her stomach so she was comfortable and propped herself up wiht her elbows, looking at Roland.

Roland chuckled a bit. "Yeah, pretty much." He pulled off his shoes and socks, tossing them aside so he could wiggle his toes in the fresh air. He didn't like being dressed up. He started unbuttoning his shirt, since the sun was out and it was a beautiful, warm day. "Nothing special happened. I got your excused absence from the principle, so you're good with that." He smiled at her and leaned back again, tilting his head back to look up at the sky. "It's so beautiful out." He sighed contently and flopped fully onto his back. "The perfect day for a picnic."

Abby realized she was watching him unbutton his shirt so she quickly blushed and looked away at something else. Such as she ladybug crawling over the blade of grass beside her. So she picked it up and watched it as it crawled up to the tip of her finger then opened its wings and took off into the sky. She looked up at the sky as it flew and smiled. "Yes. It is.." she murmured looking relaxed and content. A gentle breeze blew and she closed her eyes lightly as she felt it brush across her skin.
