Roland rolled his eyes. "It's not going to be that bad. Suck it up. It's silly how a girl is so willing to fight, yet complains about something so pathetic like that." He just stayed there, listening to her. "Teachers never care, huh? What makes you think that?" He followed her as she left, wanting to make sure she got to her car safely.

"Its school work of course i complain," Abby replied in a smartass way as they walked out of the school building. For a minute, she stayed silent about the teacher part then decided there wasnt a point to keep it to herself. "Because in every other school i've been in..the teachers never help..they do the same as the students...to me anyhow..the men use the advantage they have against me and the women just tell me to stop complaining.." she explained, keeping herself walking ahead of Roland. They were only halfway to her car which happened to be at the back of the parking lot.
(Thanks!!)
(Thanks!!)
Roland listened, staying quiet as she spoke. It took a few moments for him to respond. "Well...you shouldn't group all of us teachers together, you know." He smirked slightly. "After all, those teachers didn't have a tat, right?" He leaned towards her, hands in his pockets, that smirk still on his face. "Tell you what. If you get through the semester without a fight, I'll show you the tat. Or, if you ace my first test. Sound like a deal, Ms. Abby?" He wasn't going to yell at her or scold her, or threaten her to do well. He knew she was curious about his tattoo, so he decided a little bargain could get her interested enough to do well.
Abby paused and looked at him, with a smirk. "You might not want to put in the acing your first test. I always ace my tests," she said with a shrug. But her eyes were glimmering with intrest as she he mentioned being able to see the tattoo. Glancing at where the tattoo was, she smiled slightly but only just. "But fine. I'll take you up on that little deal," she agreed and held out her hand so they could shake on it.
Roland lifted his brow. "Really? Well, I guess you'll just have to prove it to me, Ms. Abby." He grinned as she agreed to the deal and he took her hand, giving it a firm but gentle shake. "It's a deal, then. Now go home and rest up from your little brawl. First test is in one week, so you better be ready to study hard." He winked mischievously, then turned and headed back into the school building.
Abby couldnt help the small blush that falmed across her cheeks when he winked at her. Though she quickly turned her back to his retreating figure and walked the rest of the way to her car. Getting in, she started it up and drove back to her house. Halfway there, she slammed on her brakes as a black wolf darted in front of her car and dissappeared on the other side of the street. Her head connected with the steering wheel and she groaned as she looked back out her wind shield, rubbing her forehead. This was not her day at all.
The next day, Abby wouldn't see Roland until she came to his class. He was standing in front of his desk, leaning back against it slightly. He had a pair of glasses on, checking things off on a clipboard. When he spotted her at the door, he smiled. "Good afternoon, Ms. Abby. Your seat is right over here." He pointed with the pencil to a seat near the middle of the classroom. He continued checking things off, taking an attendance without having to call out the names. A couple stragglers came in, and once all the students had arrived, Roland closed the door and walked over to stand in front of his desk, hands in his pockets.
"Alright, class. Open up your textbooks to page three hundred and ninety-five. We're going over the Civil War today." He took a book off his desk and walked over to Abby, handing it to her. "Here's the book for the class, Ms. Abby." He smiled politely, then went back to leaning on his desk and began teaching. He was a very casual teacher, while providing plenty of important, interesting information. He didn't seem like the kind to teach, but he actually did it very well.

Abby had her bangs draping lower across her forhead then she did yesterday. She was hiding the bruise she had gotten from slamming on her brakes and her head hitting the steering wheel. Putting on make up that morning to cover up as best she could but it didnt help much since the bruise was black around the edges but red in the middle. Her black eyes was hard to cover up as well so she didnt bother. Waving to Roland as she entered, she plopped down into her chair and put her head down on her arms which were on the desk. She had hardly gotten any sleep last night. Their house being pretty creepy and all.
Abby looked up as a book was set down on her desk. She opened it up but most of the class she spent staring out of the windows on the far side of the classroom. When the ending bell rang, she didnt bother to get up since she had to stay after with Roland. Though it was obvious she hadnt ehard the bell either.

Roland spoke with a couple students who had questions after class, then when everyone else left he walked over and stood by Abby's desk, hands in his pockets. Then, quite suddenly, he slammed his hand down on her desk. "Ms. Abby, I expect you to pay attention in my class. If you--" He froze mid-sentence, then narrowed his eyes slightly. "...that wasn't there before." He lifted his hand to gently brush her bangs from her forehead. "...what happened? That bruise isn't from your fight." He looked at her carefully. "Did someone else hit you?" His voice wasn't firm, scolding, or scrutinizing. It was honest concern.
"You really should put some ice on that. Did you ice your eye at all?" He sighed. "You're just a mess, aren't you? The kids are going around saying 'hot mess', but I have no clue what that means, so I'm not gonna use it to describe you. So you're just...an Abby mess." He nodded slightly and straightened, holding out his hand. "Come on, let's get you to the nurse to put some ice on these bruises."

Abby wouldve jumped ten feet in the air from his hand hitting the desk if it hadnt been for her sitting in a desk. Her head whipped around to face him as he started scolding her, which just made her roll her eyes. Then she tried to pull away before he could push her bangs back but he had already done it before she could. Avoiding his eyes, she flushed slightly at what heppned yesterday thinking it would be a rather stupid way to get it. "I..um...there was a wolf..in the street..i slammed on my brakes to avoid hitting it. My head hit the steering wheel," she said embarrassedly.
"No i didnt ice my eye. I dont need ice. I'll be perfectly fine," Abby said. A smile gracing her lips in amusement at him calling her an "Abby mess". Abby was the stubborn type and wouldnt do something she didnt want to. She wasnt used to people caring or taking care of her either, so she natrually refused their help if they tried.

Roland looked at her very intently. "A wolf? I see. Well, you're in the area where we'll see a couple, but they normally don't go near roads. Maybe it was following the trail of a deer or something." He sighed. "Next time, just hit it." he grumbled under his breath. He took her hand and carefully tugged her out of her seat. "You do need ice, otherwise it's going to swell up and you'll look like the Hunchback. Y'know, Quasimodo?" He started pulling her gently towards the nurse's office.
"I have a feeling you're going to become close friends with the nurse..."
"I have a feeling you're going to become close friends with the nurse..."
Abby rolled her eyes and let him pull her towards the nurse's office. "I know who that is. And i have a feeling i am too. As well as the principle," she added the last part under her breath. Once they got to the nurse's office, she had her eyes and forehead iced as she layed there for fifteen minutes. The nurse then took the ice packs off and put them in the freezer. Dismissing her with a wave, Abby slipped off the uncomfortable bed and walked out. Rubbing her eye as it felt frozen from all the cold. Letting Roland take the lead back to his room, she silently stopped following him and smirked as she saw a door. Opening it up, she slipped inside and came face to stair with a flight of them going up. "Ooo adventure," she said mischeviously.
Abby made her way quickly up the stairs and opened the door at the top. Coming out on the roof of the school, she stared in awe at the actually beautiful sight. Walking to the edge, she sat with her feet dangling over the edge and her facing out towards the forest. If she slipped, she would be falling three stories to the ground below which in most cases would kill a human. But fear didnt come into her mind as she looked out upon the miles of dense, green, forest she was seeing.

Roland noticed her slipping away, hearing her movements and the quiet creaking of the door. He followed quietly, standing in the doorway to the roof and watching her sit there. He sighed and started walking towards her. "Ms. Abby, you shouldn't be up here. It's dangerous, you could fall." It didn't quite occur to him that he might startle her in appearing so suddenly. And startling her while she was sitting on the edge of a roof wasn't such a good idea...
Abby jumped and squeaked from his sudden appearance behind her--feeling that sickening, cold feeling you get if you miss a step on the stairs-- as she felt her body shift balance as her body slipped over the side. At the last second, she was able to twist her body and grab the edge of the shcool's roof a cry of fear escaping her lips. Her fingers were slipping as she used one hand to hold on as tightly as possible. Her feet churning in the air as she tried to get a grip on anything to keep her from falling to the ground far below her. "Roland!!" she yelled in fear.
Roland dashed towards her as fast as he could, but...that meant he was unable to stop. So he tried to slide to a halt, but went right over the edge. It was alright, though; he grabbed her and flipped in the air, holding her close to him as he landed on the ground firmly. He landed on his feet, cradling Abby close in his arms, his muscular form curved around her protectively so that he absorbed most of the impact. His heart was racing in his chest, and with her head so near it she'd be able to hear. Also, he was very warm. "Are you alright? I told you it's dangerous up there! I don't ever want to see you up there again!!" But his tone wasn't as much angry as it was fearful. Desperate. He didn't want her to get hurt.
Abby was shaking in fear and shock of what just happened, she gripped his shirt in a death grip. She had her eyes squeezed shut as she clung onto him for dear life. She heard his racing heart and hers was in the same condition as she held onto him tightly. Without thinking, she put her head on his chest and took shallow frantic breaths. "I wouldnt have fell if you didnt startle me!" she snapped back but her fear made her voice waver and become quiet.
Roland was very quiet, simply holding her. Finally, his hand moved and he started petting her head gently to comfort her. "...you're right. I'm sorry, Abby." he said quietly. "It's okay though. You're safe. You're okay." He carefully, gently lowered her feet to touch the ground. "See? Everything's alright. You're safe. You're on the ground, and neither of us are going back to that roof. Sound good?" He pet her head gently even still, holding her close even though she was standing now. "You're okay, Abby. You're okay." he said softly, comfortingly. (I gotta go to bed now, I'll be posting on normal forum when I can tomorrow )
Abby kept holding onto Roland, afriad her legs would give out on her if she moved away from him. She kept her head ot his chest and took in his comforting scent, slowly she calmed down. Though she still didnt let go of him as she leaned into his hold. She felt safe and comforted in his arms and she didnt want the feeling to end. Looking up at Roland, she didnt notice what she was doing till it was too late. Standing on her tip toes, she pressed her lips against his gently. Electric shocks were sent through her body, lighting a fire inside of her. Yet she realized what she just did and jerked away from him. "I-Im so-sorry..I..I.." she stammered then unable to say more, she turned on her heel and ran away from him. Leaving her backpack in his class, she didnt want to chance running into him again as she ran for her car. Sliding to a stop beside it, she threw open her car door and hopped in. Driving quickly out of the parking lot and away from the school.
Abby arrived home and she realized her parents werent there. Again. They never did come home last night either. Good. I dont want to deal with them. she thought as she quickly went inside, locked the door and ran up to her room. Her parents were going to be gone for a week or longer, they always did that to her so it didnt matter to her anymore. Closing her room door, she sat on her bed next to the window and leaned against the wall with her legs held to her chest. Lightly touching her lips, she thought about the powerful feeling that had come with the kiss. Staring out of her window, she again felt the feeling of being watched.

Roland continued to hold her, knowing she must be scared. He just desperately hoped that her fear would keep her from realizing that such a feat like the one he just accomplished was completely impossible for a normal human. After a moment, though, his worry of her realizing that had vanished, because she'd suddenly kissed him! He pulled back quickly, opening his mouth to gently admonish her, but before he could do so, she ran off! Roland contemplated running after her. Catching up to her wouldn't be a problem at all. But yet...he didn't.
He sighed and walked back to his classroom to close up, finding her backpack there. He leaned against his desk and crossed his arms over his chest. "Oh Roland.." he muttered to himself. "What are you going to do?" He rubbed his face slightly, feeling rather..weary. Sure, his students had had crushes on him before. But it was just petty flirting, which he kindly ignored. How does one deal with a KISS? He shook his head and took her backpack, heading to her house. If he was going to be a good teacher, he wasn't going to let something like this get to him.

Abby gently rubbed her forehead as a headache started to form. She shouldnt have done that. She didnt know why she did either. Getting up from her bed, she went downstairs to the kitchen. Cooking some spaghetti with meatsauce, she put it in a bowl and mixed it up before sitting on the kitchen counter eating. She jumped as she heard a knock at the door and a frown creased her features as she slipped off the counter.
Walking to the front door, she opened it and looked shocked to see Roland there. Abby didnt give him a chance to say why he was here before she slammed the door shut. That was the last person she wanted to see at the moment. Leaning against the door, she let out a frustrated sigh. Then composing herself, she opened the door again and looked as she had her first day of school. Bored.
