Abby listened then looked at Roland as he got up, nodding as he said he had some issues he had to deal with the 'family'. Then before he could pull away too far, she reached up and winced at the soreness in her body before pulling him down. Giving him a gentle, loving kiss with a smile before letting him go and nodding as he told her to get some rest. "Be careful if it involves anything dangerous. Please. I love you," she said as he walked away.

Turning on the TV as he left, she watched it for only thirty minutes before she fell asleep.

Roland smiled and leaned in willingly to kiss her, then pulled back and went for the door. "I'll be fine, I promise. Love you too, Abby, now get some rest." He smiled at her, then left. Throughout the day, Abby would get two more visitors; Maria and Kevin, both at different times. But they were both quite concerned about her wellbeing, and they were relieved it wasn't anything too serious.

Abby had asked Kevin to buy her another sketchbook with a white hardcover. Then asked Maria for the pencils, colored pencils, erasers, and sharpeners she needed. Both reassuring them that it was nothing too serious and have a conversation with both. Asking Maria how things were going with 'the family' and how she was doing. Talking to Kevin about nothing in particular, just small stuff. In the evening however, she recieved an unexpected visitor. Her mom. "Hey baby girl. How are you? When will you come home?" She asked with a motherly tone she had never had before. Abby looked at her for barely more than a moment. "Mom. Stop acting just because we're in public. Im not coming home." She replied in a somewhat colder tone. "Honey! Im not acting! Im really worried about you.. I mean i know i havent been the best mother but-" she was cut off by Abby's glare. "Mom. Stop it. You know what you let happen to me. I know im a mistake. But im actually happy for once. Why do you always have to ruin it?" She asked in a venomous tone. Abby's mom, fained a hurt look and tried to move a couple pieces of hair out of her face but Abby swatted her hand away. Making a frown come on her face as she looked at her. They stayed silent for a long while, an icy chill in the air.

During that icy silence was when another visitor came; Roland! "Hey Abs, I heard you asked Maria and Kevin to get you things so I brought--" He stopped when he saw Abby's mother, holding back a frown. "Hello ma'am." He just moved right past her and stood by Abby. He had a bag in hand. "I brought all the things you asked them to get earlier. You wanted something to occupy your time, right?" He smiled at her and sat down.

Abby's icy mood lifted instantly as she saw Roland come in. "Roland! Aww thank you, she said with a smile and leaned over carefully. Kissing his cheek, before reaching for the bag so she could arrange everything. Abby's mom watched the two of them and for a second, a scowl crossed her features but it soon disappeared. "Well. I'll come and check up on you tommorow Abby, dear." She said and again tried to move a couple pieces of hair from Abby's face but she again was rejected that privilege. With a frown, she turned and left.

Abby completely relaxed once she was gone and smiled as she looked at Roland.

Roland frowned as soon as the woman left. "What the hell? She treats you like crap, then when you're hurt she treats you like she's the best mother and as worried as ever." He looked her over and sighed. "I'll be here when she tries to come tomorrow, I promise. I'm not gonna leave you to handle that woman by yourself." He leaned back in the chair and watched her. "So what do you want to draw, Abby?" He smiled.

Abby brushed it off and shrugged. "She had an alterior motive," she replied then smiled excitedly as he asked her what she was going to draw. "I want to draw you so stay still," she teased and opened the sketchbook to the first page. Taking out a pencil, she sharpened it to a fine point then started. Frowning slightly in concentration, she looke form Roland to the paper for the next twenty minutes. Finally lightly fanning some air across the page to get any eraser pieces left behind, off. Then she took out her colored pencils and set to work coloring everything in perfectly. After thirty minutes, she was done and smiled at her work. "Okay im done. Wanna see?" She asked happily and looked up at him from the page.

Roland chuckled and settled back in his seat. "Alright. Tell you what; once we're out of here, once you're good enough to come home, I'll let you draw me with my shirt off. How's that sound?" He winked at her and smiled, just staying still until she was done. When she asked that question, he grinned and leaned forward. "Yes! I want to see, Abby." He leaned in and kissed her cheek, then peered over her shoulder to see the picture she'd drawn.

Abby blushed at his suggestion but smiled and nodded. "I like that idea," she said with a smile. Then once he was looking over her shoulder, she turned the book towards him more. It looked, like all her others, as if it could just walk right off the page. It was Roland sitting in the chair beside her hospital bed but the bed wasnt visible and she had put a window behind him. Filtering in the light and making him look all the more handsome with the shadows dancing across his face.

Roland chuckled softly. "You make me a lot better-looking than I am, love." he kissed her head and smiled. "So, why don't you get some sleep. I will come back tomorrow, and we'll see if the doctor will let you come home. Okay?" He pet her head gently. "I think that picture would look a lot better if you were in it too." He smiled and stood up. "Just get some sleep. Goodnight, Abby."

Abby smiled and looked up at him then relaxed into the bed. "Okay. Dont forget to get my backpack from the car. Please," she said with a smile. Setting her art stuff on the movable table then looked at Roland before pulling the blanket up closer and tighter. "I love you. Good night," she said with a smile as she closed her eyes and slowly started to fall asleep.

Roland nodded. "I won't forget. I promise. I'll bring it tomorrow." He smiled at her. "I love you too, Abby." He turned and went out the door. Tomorrow he'd be back, just as he had promised, with her backpack in hand. "You know, I think your backpack survived the crash better than you did." He laughed a bit and smiled at her, handing it over. "Here. How did you sleep last night?"

Abby smiled and took the backpack, opening it up and taking out her other sketchbook. It had a red ribbon wrapped around the middle of it with a nice bow on it. Then she handed it to Roland. "Thats for you to look at when your alone. I slept okay. Its a bit too cold in this hospital and very thin blankets to sleep with," she said with a shrug.

Roland took the sketchbook and smiled softly. "Alright." He nodded slightly. "Let me call in the doctor, and we'll see if I can take you home." He pressed the button for the nurse, then had her go get the doctor. He took Abby's hand and held it, smiling. "I'm just glad you're alright. Maybe if we're lucky, we can get you out of here before your mom comes."

Abby smiled and hoped that they could, she really didnt want to deal with her mother. The doctor came in and smiled brightly, releasing her to go home. "Just be very careful and take it easy for a little while. You cant reopen those stitches or you'll be in some trouble," the doctor warned. Abby nodded and was all too eager to leave the hospital.

Roland smiled and packed up her things, then signed her out and took her home. He drove, he carried the bags. He didn't let her do anything. He got to the house and smiled at her. "Alright, let's get you some good food." he said. Maria came and welcomed her happily, then went about getting some food ready. Roland got all her things put away, then smiled and hugged her very carefully.

Abby only smiled and rolled her eyes at Roland not letting her do anything. He was obviously taking the doctors warning very seriously. Smiling as Maria welcomed her, her tummy growled at the thought of good food. "The love of my life. Good food," she said as a joke and laughed softly.

Abby instantly melted as Roland hugged her and she closed her eyes, putting her head on his shoulder as she hugged him back except a little tighter than he dared to.

Roland smiled, then feigned a hurt look. "The love of your life is good food? What about me??" He pouted at her, obviously having mastered 'the puppy dog face' despite his rough demeanor. Well, rough when he wasn't around her, apparently. He held her though, not wanting to let her go at all. "Home safe and sound, right Abs?"

Abby smiled gently and kissed him deeply for a long minute before pulling away just a little. "You are my whole world," she whispered against his lips with a smile. Lightly brushing some hair away from his face, she looked at him lovingly. Then gave him another gentle kiss before pulling away. "Yes. Safe and sound at home. With my 'family' and my mate," she murmured with a smile.

Roland smiled and kissed her back each time, quite happily. Maria interrupted their little lovefest with a smirk. "Alright you two, I know you're hungry but that doesn't mean you can eat each other's faces. Come on, food's on the table." She giggled and went into the diningroom, and Roland grinned and joined her, holding Abby's hand and pulling her along.
