Abby gave one last growl before she released her hold on his throat. "Name," she barked an order. Then grabbed his scruff and lifted him onto his feet easily. Nudging him to start walking, she waited for his answer as she flicked her ears. She had wanted to kill him and rip him to pieces but her motherly, female wolf saw the pathetic condition of the wolf. How he had ripped apart the arm, so her wolf instantly decided to take her in as one of her own. Suddenly feeling a protectiveness over him.
The wolf whined as she pulled him onto his feet and nudged him forward, limping along. "Ben." was the submissive response. He knew better than to even try and be snarky with this wolf. He was lucky she was even giving him a chance. He let her lead, however, since he didn't leave his territory often. She knew where she was going, so he just followed along.
"How long have you been on your own?" Abby asked as they walked along. Taking it slowly, not wanting him to get himself in a bind with his injured leg. After all, she had slammed him pretty hard into that tree. Slowly the scent of mint and clovers drifted away and the Lyall pack scent could be smelt clearly. Though the mint was still soaked into her fur.
Ben followed along, quiet for a few moments before he answered. "A few years now." He was rather wary about following her. After all, he'd taken her mate's leg off. He felt like she was probably trying to get some kind of revenge. He just followed her, looking around warily.
Abby stopped and looked over her shoulder at Ben. "You look hungry. Wait here," she said before she disappeared into the undergrowth. Catching a rabbit quickly before she returned and dropped it at his feet. "Eat. I'll tell you where you stand with me while you do. Right now youre going to be high in the pack's status because i took you in as mine. No one will be allowed to hurt you except for me. You will have to earn their trust, however. Your room will be next to mine and you are free to come into my room if you have a problem. Ben, my mate might not be happy about this but i do expect you to treat him with respect no matter how mad he is at you." She said with her tail in front of her paws as she watched him eat. "How old are you Ben?" She asked.
Ben sat down and waited as Abby caught a rabbit for him. He started eating it, listening to her talking. When he was done, he looked up at her. "...Twenty-eight." He wanted to ask her why she was doing all of this for him, but he didn't feel like asking questions was such a fantastic idea right now. He was walking on eggshells as it was.
Abby could see the question in his eyes as she flicked her ear. "We need to get back. I'll get you some clothes once we get there." She said, not wanting to answer it. She wasnt sure why, but she was. Once he was ready, she picked up the speed to a trot as they continued on. Once they got back, Abby stopped at her car and shifted back. Pulling on her clothes and grabbing a blanket out of her car. Tossing it on the ground in front of him as she looked away. "Cover up with that for now. When we get inside i'll grab you some clothes," she said.
Ben just nodded and followed along with her, and once they got there and she gave him the blanket, he changed into his human form and put the blanket around his waist. He was incredibly handsome, with dark skin and black hair. He looked a little calm, but then he froze and looked at the door, tensing up. Why? Because Roland was standing in the door of the house.
"What the hell is he doing here?!" Roland said, growling. Ben growled lowly as well, a reaction to being...well..a werewolf. Roland glared at Ben, then Abby. "What the hell are you thinking? You're bringing him here, to our home?! Why did you even..." He just shook his head and turned. "I'm not...I'm not going to even try." He just went up to his room, slamming the door. Even Maria was shocked, staring from the window.

Abby hit Ben in the stomach with her elbow as he growled, to shut him up and it worked when he let out a 'oof!' instead. Wincing slightly when Roland yelled, but knowing his anger was reasonable. Motioning for him to follow, she set him up in the empty room next door to hers. Tossing him a pair of her old tomboy clothes. It was a pair of boy cargo pants and a bigger white t-shirt. "Thats all i got right now but i will take you to the store tommorow and get you a few pairs of boy clothing," she said and offered him a small smile before she left the room. Going to Roland's room, she suddenly went back to the old Abby. One who hated having her mate mad at her and begging in her mind that he would understand. Knocking softly on the door, she bowed her head and squeezed her eyes shut.
Ben grunted as he was elbowed in the stomach and he just watched. He followed her to his room and nodded, getting changed once she left. He was exhausted, so he laid on the bed and went to sleep.
Roland frowned when he heard the knock on the door. "What?" he snapped, not bothering to open the door. The door was unlocked, and if she opened it, she would find him pacing in his room. He was not happy. Definitely not happy.

Abby opened the door slowly and watched him as she shut it behind her. "Roland..im not going to apologize. He needed the help. I had originally set out to kill him..but his condition..it dragged out the protective, mother side of my female wolf. I couldnt ignore it," she explained quietly. It brought an unbelievable amount of pain to her, seeing him so angry at her desicion. But she had acted with her wolfs request and if she had denied that it wouldve felt too wrong.
Roland growled at her. "MOTHER SIDE? What about your MATE side, Abby?! You just took in the wolf that almost KILLED ME. The wolf that RUINED my life! How COULD you, Abby?! And to have him LIVING IN OUR HOUSE, too?!" He kept pacing, growling even more. "I've been armless for a day and you're already replacing me! Wonderful! I can see how greatly committed you are!" Sarcasm dripped from his last sentence. "You don't understand, Abby. This is the biggest betrayal! You just...you don't understand! Just because you're damned like the rest of us doesn't mean you understand everything! Now get out! Just get out of my room and leave me alone!!"
Abby's eyes widened and she fell back against the wall, a crushed look crossing her face. Almost being swept off her feet by the anger behind his voice. Tears brimmed her eyes then slid down her cheeks rapidly. "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU YELLING ABOUT?! RUINED YOUR LIFE?! AM I NOTHING TO YOU?! JUST CAUSE YOU LOST AN ARM YOUR WHOLE LIFE IS RUINED?!! I AM YOUR MATE! WHERE THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO FIT IN?!! AFTER YOUR BODY?!" She snapped angrily and crushed. A sob escaping her before she ran from the room after she flung open the door. Shifting into her wolf form as she leapt down the hall in two strides and turned into her room. Slamming her door shut with a kick from her hind paws. Leaping out the open window, she landed with a hard thud on the ground outside. Taking off without a second thought into the woods which she had just returned from. Blindly crashing through the woods until her chest was aching with every breath and her legs felt like jello. 'He thought i was replacing him..' She thought and paced a small clearing restlessly. Before collapsing into the tall grass and just letting the tears flow freely down her furred cheeks. Never having felt so broken before. She knew he'd be mad but never that mad.
Nobody came looking. Nothing happened. Kevin and Maria both tried to go after her, but Roland stopped them. If she wanted to be alone, then she needed the time alone. Besides, he didn't want to see her right now. He felt betrayed. Ben took his arm, shoved him out of his alpha role, and made him lose his job. Now Abby was having Ben LIVE with them. There was no bigger betrayal than that. And since he was in the room right next to her...well, it just made for a bad combination.
Roland slept throughout the day, or stayed locked in his room. Ben came out from his room, ate, and patched himself up with the first aid kit. Maria didn't have the heart to stop him, since Abby was the new alpha and had brought him in personally. Ben didn't speak to her, and she didn't speak to him. They ignored each other.

Abby definitly wanted to be alone and she was glad she was. Late into the afternoon, she came back after she made her desicion. Taking a running start before she leapt up onto the second story roof and climbed in through her window. Shifting into her human form, she dressed then grabbed all her things and packed them away in boxes. Taping them closed before she took all four out to her car silently. Going to Ben's room, she didnt even knock before going in. "Well you cant stay here, though i doubt they will let you, or you can come with me. No one deserves to be alone. If you wish to come with me then meet me by my car. We will still stop by the store and get you some clothes." she said before leaving his room. Going down the stairs, she left her second sketchbook on the kitchen table before she went out to her car.
Maria was waiting out by her car. "Where are you going?" She was obviously worried. She looked at Abby carefully. "...you're really leaving him? I...I thought you two were closer than that, Abby..." She looked away. "You know...this will kill him. Literally. He could barely survive the death of his other love. To lose you...he would just give up. It wouldn't be worth it. And what about the pack, Abby? You're the alpha. We need you. You have to help us. We can't go on without an alpha."
Abby put her hands on her car and bowed her head, feeling the familar prick of tears at the corners of her eyes. "Maria..... I-I cant stay here.. He doesnt even want to look at me... Just being able to smell his scent throughout this house and know he hates me.. Its tearing me apart.. I love the pack and Roland with everything i have.. I really do.. But to know that i did that to him and him hate me for it.." she said and put her head against the car. Tears falling to the ground as she silently let them fall. "I know i have no right to feel so crushed..but he doesnt want to see me.. or hear me.. i shouldnt even be his mate because he was right about me..i dont know anything about your kind even though i've tried to act like i did.." she whispered, choking back sobs.
Maria put her hand on her back. "Abby...dear.." She sighed softly. "Come sit down inside with me.." She pulled the girl inside gently and sat down on the couch with her. "Listen...he doesn't hate you. He is just highly upset, and highly emotional right now. Think about it, Abby. He lost his arm. That alone has upset him so much. And before he gets used to it, before he has time to recover, you bring the very person who did that to him, into the house. Naturally, he's upset. And he's already upset and full of emotions, so it all just burst out. I know he doesn't hate you, he could never hate you. But he's going through a very hard time right now. It's just the timing of you bringing...him..into the house, was very...poor." She sighed.
"Abby...if Roland brought in Terri, after Terri ripped your leg off or something, how would you feel?"
"Abby...if Roland brought in Terri, after Terri ripped your leg off or something, how would you feel?"
Abby was feeling too many conflicted emotions to deal with questioning and she almost snapped at Maria without meaning to. Gripping her shorts tightly, she clenched her jaw for a second before letting it relax. "Well Ben is here now. My timing may have been poor but he wouldve gone on hurting other wolves if they strayed into his territory if i had left him there. Im not a killer, Maria. Im a protector." she said seriously, ignoring Maria's question.
Getting off the couch, she fingered her car keys. "Ben needs some clothes. I will be back shortly," she said with finality and her voice returning to its neutral tone. Abby was dealing with her emotions in the wrong way, all the pain and sadness was turning her colder and colder. Walking out the front door, she let out a heavy sigh at all the stress, running her fingers through her hair. "Ben! Lets go," she yelled up at his window as she walked towards her car and got in. She wouldnt leave since she had a responsibility for her pack and mate but she did need some time.

Ben followed her into the car. He didn't say much, really. He only spoke when she asked him questions. He would go along with Abby and get some clothes that fit.
Maria just cleaned up around the house and checked in on Roland often. He was sleeping for most of the time. He was emotionally exhausted, and still recovering from his fight with Ben. By the time they got back, though, Roland was sitting at the table and eating. It would be so odd to Abby, to see him with only one arm. Ben couldn't help but smirk though, at his achievement. He was a wolf, so it was a natural feeling. Pride at his success. Roland didn't look up. He just ate his food. Maria was right beside him, her hand resting gently on his knee. Silent comfort.
