Maria was quiet for a time, simply enjoying the peace. But eventually, she spoke. "You must be something special, Abby." she said gently, smiling. "Roland lives in the house, but last night was the first time he's slept there in a while. Everyone loves seeing him. He's been so busy lately that the boys haven't been able to play ball like this with him for a while." She leaned back, chuckling as she watched the boys. "He seems so happy. He used to have problems with anger, you know. Went off for days at a time, nobody would see or hear from him. It caused a lot of trouble with his job." Maria looked at Abby. "He hasn't told you a single thing about himself, has he?"
Abby looked at Maria in surprise and slowly sat up, looking at her. "Anger problems? I've never seen him mad... well not truly mad anyway. He hasnt told me anything about him but i did get a glimpse of a tattoo," she said with a smile and wiggled her eyebrows before laughing softly. She hadnt felt this happy in a long time but being around these people it was a whole lot easier. "Can you tell me anything about him?" she asked hopefully as she gave Maria the puppy dog eyes in hopes they would work.
Maria laughed softly. "I can tell you a bit. Yes, he has a tattoo. I'm not so sure it's his only one, either." She laughed a bit. "He used to be wild, Abby. You wouldn't believe it. He used to be a real punk. He'd hook up with girls so fast it'd be one for each day of the week. He broke so many hears." She sighed and watched her brother. "He got into fights a lot. I can't tell you how many times I went to the hospital, thinking he might be close to dead."
She waved back as Roland stopped and waved at them. "You wouldn't believe it. He just...he was so wild. And then something happened." She grew quiet, shaking her head. "I shouldn't be the one to tell you. It's...too personal. If someone tells you, it should be him. But just know that it's been a while since he's been so worried and concerned about any of his students."

Abby frowned when she realized that Roland used to be a total jerk. Then she looked at him as he waved and she couldnt help but smile. It was almost impossible to believe that about him but she did since it was Maria telling her. She looked at Maria and nodded then turned to watch the boys and Roland play around. At some point though, she dozed off but held the journal to her chest tightly. Abby had layed in the grass at some later point in the evening and fell fast asleep, curling up as she did. After her and Maria's conversation she had tried to picture a wild Roland but really couldnt. Then her thoughts had grown more crazy as she got sleepier to where she eventually nodded off.
When Abby woke up, Roland was sitting beside her. An extra blanket had been pulled from his car and draped over her, and he was watching her to make sure she was alright. Maria had taken the boys back home since it was starting to get dark out. "Hey, sleepyhead. Have a nice nap?" He smiled and rubbed her shoulder gently. "Come on, we should get back. It's getting dark out."
Abby sat up slowly and rubbed her eyes sleepily, looking up at Roland with a cute sleepy smile. "I slept pretty good surprisingly enough," she replied quietly with a soft laugh. Then she pulled the blanket tighter around her and groaned at the thought of getting up before looking at Roland. "Hey why didnt you go home?" she asked with a small frown.
Roland looked at her, surprised. "What, go home and leave you all alone in the middle of a park, asleep? Not a chance, Abby! You could get jumped, or kidnapped, or anything! I stayed because I wanted to make sure you were safe." He smiled softly and stood up, offering her his hand. "Come on. Let's go home. I think the bed there is gonna be a lot more comfortable than sleeping on the ground here."
Abby smiled and took his hand, letting him help her up. "That was very sweet of you Mr Roland," she said with a smile and held his hand a couple seconds longer than just helping her up. With a blush, she pulled her hand out of his and handed him his blanket back. "I think your right about the bed," she said with a laugh then headed for his car. Getting inside, she leaned back in the passenger side seat and waited for Roland to start driving. Once they got back, she headed for her room before pausing. "Goodnight Mr Roland. Thank you for inviting me to the picnic. It was alot of fun," she said with a sweet smile before dissappearing into her room and shutting the door. Setting her journal on the bedside table and crawled into the bed passing out before she could even get under the covers.
Roland smiled gently at her. "It's just common kindness, Abby. It's nothing special." He drove her back to his house, then walked her to her bedroom. "I'm glad you enjoyed it, Abby. Really, I am." He smiled at her and nodded. "Sleep tight, Abby." He waited until her door was shut, then he went to his own room. Tomorrow was a friday, so the weekend was almost there. He wondered what he could do to get Abby to have more fun. He didn't like her being alone so much, so she definitely had to do something with people. The picnic seemed like it'd gone well, so maybe something on a similar note.
(I'm going to sleep now, so I won't be posting. Just wanted to let you know so you don't stay up waiting for a post)
Abby didnt wake up on time the next morning and actually never left her room for breakfast either even when Maria did knock on the door. She was covered up with the blanket and there was a wolf scent in there that certainly didnt belong to one of Roland's pack members or any from the house. Colt had visited late last night and had actually came in by his own desicion since Abby was passed out and not waking any time soon. He had covered her up and changed her into her pjs but refrained himself from anything other than cuddling with her and sleeping next to her.
Colt had made his escape before dawn and didnt bother covering up his scent he had left behind or shutting the window letting in a freezing cold breeze for several hours. Werewolves and humans usually dont get sick easily but Abby did. The freezing cold air never helped her out either. Though Abby ignored the fact she was obviously sick. Getting up, she dressed in black skinnys and a long sleeved purple shirt with a black hoodie and her red converse hightops. Grabbing her backpack, she left before anyone saw or could stop to talk to her. She was late as it was and she rushed to school. All day she was freezing cold but burning up if anyone touched her. A few teachers had insisted she go home but she snapped at them to mind their own buisness. Finall getting to Roland's class, she kept her head down so he couldnt see the poor state she was in. The whole period she kept her head on her arms on the desk not even talking to Colt all day.
(Thank you for letting me know:D)

Roland taught his class just like normal, but as soon as it was done, he walked over to her. "I'm taking you home, little missy. You are absolutely sick." He walked her out to the car. It took all of his self-control to make sure she got home safe instead of roughly interrogating Colt. Maria had called her brother up and told him about the scent in Abby's room, and he didn't like that at all. He would insist on driving Abby home, then once they got her to her room he took her temperature, gave her some medicine and got her some soup. While they were at school, Maria had had one of the boys bolt down the window so it wouldn't be opened without breaking. And making a very loud noise, thanks to a couple special additions the handy kids had added.
"Just try to get some rest, alright? I've got a laptop that you can watch movies on if you want to, or I can pick up some books for you from the library." He rubbed her head gently. "Just try to relax, okay? I don't want you getting any worse than you are." He sighed. "Hopefully you'll be better by Monday. If you're not, though, it's not going to be too much of a problem. Okay? I'll make sure it works out fine."

Abby sat in bed and was quick to devour the soup considering she hadnt eaten all day. Though it had taken quite a bit of convincing from Roland to get her to take the medicine. Now that all that stuff was over, she was sitting up in her bed looking at Roland and listening to him. Sinking down lower into her bed, she put her head back on the headboard. "Roland?" She murmured interrupting him as he got to the hopefully better by part. Then she noticed she had just used his first name and she looked up at him quickly. "I-Im sorry i meant Mr Roland.." She apologized then corrected. "Can you tell Colt i cant make it tonight? Then comeback so we can talk..it gets kinda lonely sometimes.." She said quietly.
Roland smiled at her. "It's alright, Abby. You can have special privileges when you're sick and just call me Roland." He rubbed her shoulder gently. "Of course. I'll be back soon, okay? Maria's downstairs, so if you need her all you have to do is shout." He got up and headed out, secretly thrilled that Abby had sent him to relay the message to Colt.
He found Colt quick and easy enough, and strolled over to him with hands in his pockets. "Abby can't make it tonight. She's sick. Because a certain intruder left the window of her bedroom open." He smiled innocently, then suddenly lifted his hands from his pockets and slammed Colt into a wall, holding him there firmly. "If you EVER try to sneak into my house to be with her EVER again I will rip EVERY LIMB FROM YOUR BODY." He growled deeply. "You could have KILLED her! And what kind of creep are you?! To sneak into a girl's room while she's sleeping, that's too close to a stalker that I'd like you to be, kid." He growled again. "If you want to see Abby like a nice, normal kid, then I'm okay with that. But the moment you took that step from date to stalker, you got on my REALLY bad side. I will not let you hurt her. And you just hurt her by giving her a COLD from leaving her WINDOW OPEN."
He glared. "I'm not going to hurt you. Not this time. Because Abby sent me to tell you she can't make it tonight. But if you cross that boundary into stalker one more time, I AM going to hurt you. If you want to date a normal girl, you better pretend good as hell that you're a normal guy." He let go of Colt, taking in a deep breath to calm himself. He wanted nothing more than to totally dismember the boy.

Colt gave a worried look and frowned. "Well that really sucks. I wanted to go on the date tonight..oh well some other time then," he said with a shrug. Then he was slammed into the wall and a growl left his throat but he listened. A smirk came into play at the end and he straightened out his clothes once Roland let go. "Oh i get it. This is too good," Colt said as he looked at Roland and chuckled a bit. "You like her. A lot. I couldnt figure it out till now. But now that i have..well it will come in handy to say the least," he added with a wicked smirk. Then he started walking off and waved bye to Roland a little more bounce in his step.
Abby waited patiently for Roland to get back and while she waited, she picked up the journal. Going back to where she left off, she was getting towards the end and Anna Marie had already figured out that those two wolves were werewolves. An exciting feeling came to Abby and she wondered if they really did exist. "Werewolves..." She whispered thoughtfully.

Roland frowned at Colt. "You're wrong, kid. I just don't want someone else to die." He walked off, going back to the house. He knocked on Abby's door, then stepped inside. "Hey...how are you feeling?" He smiled gently and sat down on the edge of her bed. "Do you want anymore soup, or do you want a book or something?" He smiled softly. "I talked to Colt. He was bummed but he said that you'll just have it happen another day."
He was so tempted to lie, to say that Colt said terrible things about her. But he didn't want her to find out he'd lied and get a bad impression. "Do you want anything? I'll do whatever I can to help."

Abby closed the journal as Roland stepped in and put it on the bedside table. Smiles a bit then sits up a little more. "Actually i would love some more soup and a movie just as long as you'll join me?" she asked hopefully. Her intentions were to hang around Roland more since he made her rather happy. She enjoyed being around him alot.
Though Abby was waiting for him to leave to go get the soup so she could call in Maria and talk to her for a minute or two while he was busy.

Roland laughed softly and nodded. "Alright, sounds like a deal." He ruffled her hair gently and playfully, then got up and went to make the soup and fetch a movie. When Maria was called, she came in. "Hey, Abby. Is there something I can do for you?" She smiled softly and sat down on the edge of the bed like her brother had.
Abby smiled and sat up to look at Maria as she came in. "Actually i need to ask you something..." she said looking rather nervous then she crawled closer to Maria and sighed, rubbing her temples as she thought about it. "Is it wrong for me to like your brother a whole lot. As in more than a friend or teacher?" she asked exasperatedly.
Maria looked at Abby carefully, blinking in surprise when the question was asked. She gave a soft, almost sad, sigh. "Oh, honey. Of course it's not wrong. Liking someone is never wrong. I just don't know if it's the right choice." She pet Abby's head gently. "Abby...you're a new girl, in a new town. You shouldn't rush into any kind of relationship. There's a lot about Roland you don't know yet. You should talk to him more. As a friend. Because he'll always be your friend, Abby. Roland is like that. No matter what you do, he'll always be your friend, and he'll always be there for you."
