Abby frowned and looked at the ground with a heavy sigh. "I know..but everytime im around him im so happy. I look foreward to seeing him everyday. I feel like he could never do wrong and if he did it wouldnt matter..Maria im pathetic.."she said quietly and looked rather defeated.

Maria hugged her gently. "Ohhh honey. You're not pathetic, you're twitterpated. In other words, you have a crush. It's not bad that he makes you happy, and that you want to be around him. But...hmm. This is complicated, Abby. I'll tell you right now that he wouldn't go out with you. Not because of you, but because of his job. He has to stay professional. He's toeing the line just by having you here. By being so worried and attached to you." She let go of Abby. "Just try to keep it a friendship for now, Abby. You can enjoy each other's company without dating. Maybe when you graduate, you'll have a better chance, because you won't be a student anymore." Maria blinked. "Wait..you ARE eighteen, right? I can't have my brother potentially dating an under-age girl."

Abby laughed softly but it turned into coughing as she pulled away and covered her mouth. Once the coughing stopped, she smiled and nodded. "Yes Maria i am eighteen. I turned eighteen the day i came to stay with you," she said with a smile. The hearing Roland on his way back, she crawled under the covers and put her finger on her lips to tell Maria to keep it in between them.

Maria nodded about the secret, then got up. "I'll get you some more cough medicine, Abby. You seem like you need it." She smiled and left as Roland came in. "Hey, I got you some soup and a movie." He handed the soup over to her and smiled softly, setting up the movie and then sitting down beside her. He put his hand on her forehead gently. "How do you feel? Any better, any worse?"

Abby smiled and thanked Maria then Roland as he handed her the soup. "Im feeling a bit better but not by much," she said with a small smile. She was still burning up with a fever but she hardly noticed as she ate the warm soup. Finishing the soup quickly, she set it on the bedside table and leaned back against the headboard. She got up and turned off the big overhead light but kept her small lamp on so she wouldnt make Roland uncomfortable or herself. Then she crawled back into bed and got under the cover just as the movie started.

Roland sat beside her and leaned back as well, smiling softly and watching the movie with her. Maria came in partway through to give her some cough medicine. When the movie was over, he got up. "Want anymore soup?" He checked the blankets. "Do you want more, less? Do you want maybe something more than soup, something more filling?"

He wanted to make sure she was taken care of. Especially since she still wasn't doing much better than earlier. "We should take you to the doctor if you don't feel better soon.."

Abby was again reluctant to take the gross tasting cough medicine and it took persuasion from Roland for her to actually take it. Once the movie ended, she was barely awake but woke up when Roland moved away. She smiled as he fussed over the blankets, food, and her not getting much better. "Roland. I promise you im fine. I will let you know if i need anything. I dont think i need to go to the doctor for a cold, i mean it costs quite a bit for just a check up. My parents always made me pay for that stuff.." she said, trailing off at the end.

Abby frowned as she thought about it all. Actually her parents hardly ever paid for anything at all after she turned tweleve.

Roland frowned. "Well you wouldn't pay for it this time, I'd pay for it." He smiled softly then and rubbed her head gently. "Alright, well I'll let you get some sleep. Rest well, Abby." He got up and headed for the door. He had one of the boys standing guard outside tonight, just for some extra protection. He didn't want Colt making Abby anymore sick than she already was.

Abby smiled and closed her eyes as he gently rubbed her head. "Thank you Roland...for everything.." she whispered as she slowly fell asleep. In the middle of the night, she woke up to a light tapping on her window. Slowly getting up, she walked sleepily over to the door and coughed as she made her way over to it. Her head was pounding and she was in a rather irritable mood at whoever was waking her up.

Colt was standing at the window and he put a note against it. "Im sorry i got you sick Abby. i didnt mean to honest. But could you sneak out so i can tell you in person what happened?" the note said. Abby scowled and debated for a second before grabbing her hoodie and throwing it on. Opneing her door, she gave a startled gasp to see someone standing guard and stumbled backwards for a second. Then a scowl creased her features and she opened the door wide, stepping out. "What the heck are doing?" she asked in a more than annoyed tone.

The boy looked over at her and gasped. "U-um...Roland wanted me to keep watch and make sure you were okay." He glanced at the hoody. "Wh..where are you going? It's late. You should be in be--" He stopped, staring over her shoulder and then gulping. Roland was standing behind her. He reached around her and took the note from her hand. "...If he wants to talk to you, he should visit you during the day like a normal person, not creep around at night like some criminal."

He put his arm around her, gently pulling her back inside. "Please, Abby. Use your head. Why is he sneaking around at night? How did he even know you were here? Colt has 'stalker' written all over him, and it really worries me." He looked at him, the concern showing in his eyes. "I don't want anything to happen to you."

Abby opened her mouth to protest when someone took the note from her then she quickly closed her mouth as she realized who it was. "Come on Roland he just wants to apologize," she said quietly and pouted cutely. Then a slight blush came to her cheks as he put his arm around her and pulled her back inside. Letting out a sigh, she looked tired and defeated then just nodded. "Okay Roland. You can have your way," she said quietly and rubbed her forehead in a pained way as her head continued to pound. Brushing past him, she went right back to her bed and threw off the hoodie. Crawling back in bed, she burrowed deep under the covers and buried her head in a pillow. Colt continued to wait outside and frowned once she never showed up. Tapping on her window again as he waited emitting an annoyed and pained groan from Abby in her bed. Putting the pillow over her head, she ignored him.

Roland was soon outside the window as well, standing right beside Colt. "Get. Out. Right now you're trespassing on owned property at late hours, I could have the cops all over you. She's trying to get some damn SLEEP. She's sick, she doesn't feel well, and you come drag her butt out of bed this late at night?! If you want to see her, come during the freaking day. It's the weekend, it's not like you don't have time. You keep acting shady, and I don't like it. Keep it up, and I'll ban you completely from seeing her."

He crossed his arms over his chest. "Leave. Now. Unless you want her to die from this cold that YOU gave her."

Abby soon passed cold out and was in a deep sleep from the silence that followed after Colt's tapping. Colt growled lowly as Roland appeared and told him to leave. Turning to face him, he balled his hands into fists. "Look its none of your buisness. You dont own her and you arent her parent. She might listen to you but thats only for now. I promise you that will soon change," Colt growled. Then purposely hit his shoulder into Roland's as he walked past.

Colt left the property but would crtainly uphold his promise if it was the last thing he did. Colt had been sent there by his pack to take down Roland's pack or just weaken it by destroying Roland. So he would just destroy him by starting with the woman he was taking so much intrest in. He would destroy her.

Roland growled back. "I don't own her. Nobody does. And I'm not her parent. But I'm her PROTECTOR. So I will protect her." He ignored the shoulder bump, watching as he just walked off. He came back inside, and didn't get a wink of sleep. He sent out some of his more experienced pack to start snooping around and finding out more about Colt and what pack he came from. Roland was not going to leave Abby's side, so he stepped inside her room with a stool and sat down, just staying there and reading a book.

Abby woke up late in the morning to see Roland sitting in her room. Frowning sleepily, she rubbed her eyes and sat up slowly. Covering her mouth as she started coughing, once the coughing fit was over and her head stopped swimming she looked at Roland confused. "Why are you in my room?" she asked quietly and tiredly. Abby looked a bit worse than she had yesterday but it was going to be the worst day out of the three as well.

Roland looked up and looked at her worriedly. "Are you alright?" He set his book aside. "I'm watching over you. I'm really worried, Abby. Let me get Maria to bring more medicine." He moved to sit down beside her on the bed and feel her forehead again to check her temperature. "Do you want something to eat?" He wrapped her in his arms gently and just...held her.

Why? He was scared. He was scared something was going to happen to her, and her being sick didn't make it any better. "You should stay in bed again. But since I know how frustrating that can be, I can get another movie and watch it with you. Or we could get some board games, or something." He let go of her and pulled back a little.

Abby closed her tired eyes when he put his cold hand in her burning hot forehead. It felt nice. She leaned into his hold and didnt say anything for a little bit, putting her head on his chest starting to fall asleep in his hold till he pulled away. Leaning away from him and against her beds headboard, she nodded. "Food would be nice. A movie sounds good. I dont really feel like having to use my head to think about too much. Can i have some headache medicine?" she replied then asked quietly, slightly rubbing her forehead in a pained way. She liked having him around, it felt so nice to have someone there who cared.

Roland smiled softly and nodded. "Of course." He got up and went to the door, sending someone to get food for her, a movie, and headache medicine. He sat back down then, smiling softly. "You'll get better soon, Abby. While you're sick, though, I'm going to do everything I can to make sure you're comfortable. Alright?"

After thinking for a few moments, he looked at her. "Want to see my tattoo, Abby?" He chuckled. "I think after getting so sick, at my house no less, I owe it to you to show you my tat."

Abby wondered why he didnt leave the room to do it himself and she tried to smile a little as he smiled at her but it barely turned into one. Though she isntantly brightened up as he offered to show her his tattoo, sitting up a little straighter and a little closer to him. "Yes i wanna see," she said eagerly and actually managed a smile.

As he showed her, she reached out and put a light touch on its outline. Lightly tracing it absentmindedly and smiled. "I love it. Its awesome," she said quietly then blushed as she realized she was still lightly tracing it. Pulling her hand away, she looked at the bed covers and murmured a sorry but the light in her eyes still showed her excitement on seeing it.

Roland sat down beside her and lifted his sleeve up, showing off the wolf head tattoo. "Thanks. I'm pretty fond of it too." He chuckled a bit as she apologized. "It's fine. I don't mind." After a pause, he smiled. "Want to hear a story about it, Abby? About the tattoo?" He wanted to make her happy. To make her feel better and smile while she was sick.
